Abstract

The rise of digital technologies has significantly transformed the dynamics of sexual violence cases, particularly through the emergence of digital vigilantism as a form of public-driven justice. This study aims to analyze how digital vigilantism influences the rule of law and state legitimacy. Employing a normative juridical approach with a qualitative design, this research utilizes secondary data derived from scholarly literature, legal documents, and comparative case studies across multiple jurisdictions. Data were collected through a systematic literature review and analyzed using doctrinal and thematic analysis to identify patterns, tensions, and implications of digital vigilantism practices. The findings reveal that digital vigilantism functions as a double-edged phenomenon. On one hand, it accelerates accountability, amplifies victims’ voices, and pressures law enforcement to act more responsively. On the other hand, it undermines fundamental legal principles such as due process, presumption of innocence, and legal certainty, while fostering parallel systems of “trial by social media.” Furthermore, the widespread reliance on digital vigilantism reflects a broader crisis of trust in formal legal institutions, thereby weakening state legitimacy. In conclusion, digital vigilantism both challenges and reinforces the authority of the state. Without balanced regulatory frameworks and institutional reforms, its expansion risks eroding the rule of law while simultaneously emerging as a response to institutional deficiencies in addressing sexual violence

Abstract

Abstract

Emotional labor has become a critical component in service-oriented organizations, where employees are required to manage and regulate their emotions to deliver quality service. This study aims to analyze the role of emotion regulation in emotional labor and its impact on customer satisfaction. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, with data collected through structured questionnaires distributed to service employees and customers. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis to examine the relationships between surface acting, deep acting, emotion regulation, and customer satisfaction. The findings reveal that deep acting has a positive and significant effect on emotion regulation and customer satisfaction, while surface acting has a negative effect. Emotion regulation is also found to significantly influence customer satisfaction, confirming its mediating role in the relationship between emotional labor and service outcomes. The discussion highlights that authentic emotional expressions enhance service quality through emotional contagion and perceived sincerity, whereas inauthentic expressions reduce customer trust and satisfaction. In conclusion, effective management of emotional labor requires organizations to promote deep acting and strengthen employees’ emotion regulation capabilities while providing organizational support to maintain employee well-being. These efforts are essential for achieving sustainable service performance and customer satisfaction

Abstract

The calibration method is an alternative method that can be used to analyze the relationship between invasive and non-invasive blood glucose levels. Calibration modeling generally has a large dimension and contains multicolinearities because usually in functional data the number of independent variables (p) is greater than the number of observations (p>n). Both problems can be overcome using Functional Regression (FR) and Functional Principal Component Regression (FPCR). FPCR is based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA). In FPCR, the data is transformed using a polynomial basis before data reduction. This research tried to model the equations of spectral calibration of voltage value excreted by non-invasive blood glucose level monitoring devices to predict blood glucose using FR and FPCR. This study aimed to determine the best calibration model for measuring non-invasive blood glucose levels with the FR and FPCR. The results of this research showed that the FR model had a bigger coefficient determination (R2) value and lower Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Root Mean Square Error Prediction (RMSEP) value than the FPCR model, which was 12.9%, 5.417, and 5.727 respectively. Overall, the calibration modeling with the FR model is the best model for estimate blood glucose level compared to the FPCR model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of Zakat, Infak, and Sadaqah (ZIS) distribution, Islamic financing, and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on income inequality in Indonesia during the period 2019–2023. A quantitative approach was employed, utilising secondary data from the annual reports of BAZNAS, Islamic Banking Statistics published by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as well as GRDP and Gini ratio data from The Global Economy. A panel data econometric model with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) was applied to estimate the effects of the variables. The analysis included classical assumption tests to ensure model validity and coefficient estimation to capture the impact of each variable on the primary outcome. The distribution of ZIS funds had no significant effect on the Gini ratio (p-value: 0.8848), whereas Islamic financing (p-value: 0.0128) and GRDP (p-value: 0.0083) had a significant negative effect, indicating their contribution to reducing inequality. The model explained 96.01% of the variation in income inequality. Islamic financing and inclusive economic growth play a significant role in reducing income inequality, while optimisation of zakat management remains necessary. Strengthening access to Islamic financing, ensuring transparency in ZIS management, and fostering inclusive economic growth are essential to achieve sustainable social and economic justice.

Abstract

The quality of Al-Qur'an recitation is often hindered by non-ideal teacher-student ratios and low student focus. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Ummi method to improve students' tartil skills at SDII Luqman Al Hakim 01 Batam through the School-Based Internship (PLP) program. The research follows a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were gathered through participant observation and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the presence of internship students helps maintain a proportional teacher-student ratio (1:11), allowing for more intensive guidance. The systematic application of the seven stages of the Ummi method shows improvements in makhraj accuracy and student fluency. Furthermore, modifications to the seating arrangement proved effective in minimizing focus distractions, which directly correlates with the progress recorded in students' achievement books. This study concludes that standardized methodology, systemic school support, and adaptive classroom management are essential factors in optimizing students' tartil recitation skills.

Abstract

Rigid pavement is a commonly used pavement in soft subgrade conditions because it can anticipate soil subsidence in the transverse and longitudinal directions of the roadway as a result of uneven load distribution due to inhomogeneous soil. Road pavement that is passed by excessive loads will cause the road to experience soil subsidence which will also affect the soil layer below so that research on the problem is needed. This research uses the finite element method which aims to determine the vertical settlement of soil (Uy), the maximum settlement of 3650 days, and the safety factor (Msf) that occurs in soft soil layers against rigid pavement on Srijaya Raya road, Palembang City. The soil characteristics on Srijaya Raya Road are dominated by clay soil with low to medium plasticity which is dominantly soft so that it can cause significant road damage if maintenance is not carried out. Based on the research, it was found that the maximum subsidence value of the distributed load was at STA 0 + 806 at point BH-02 located at the Air Waru Bridge towards Indralaya, which was -0.04847 m with a safety factor of 1.650 and the maximum subsidence for 3650 days was at STA 2 + 103 at point BH-04 located at the Air Kenanga Bridge towards Palembang of -0.539 m.Keywords: finite element method; rigid pavement; safety factor; settlement.
