Abstract

Abstract: Bilingual Education Program: Teachers’ and Students’ Perspectives and Challenges. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to investigate the teachers’ and students’ perspectives of bilingual education program and the challenges faced. Methods: In this qualitative case study, the participants were the science teachers and the tenth-graders of the program. The data were gathered using interviews and observations and were analyzed by organizing and planning the results, paying attention to data, coding the data, generating the description and themes, and reflecting descriptions and themes. Findings: First, all science teachers and most students had positive perspectives and admitted the benefits of the program. Second, all the teachers and students faced challenges during the implementation of the program. Conclusion: All teachers and most students positively perceived bilingual education program. However, their positivity could not free them from facing challenges. Abstract

Information technology plays a crucial role in online learning, and schools must adapt to the pandemic by utilizing e-learning as a learning medium. This research aims to produce e-learning based on a blended model that is feasible, practical, and effective for increasing students' understanding of concepts. This research uses the ADDIE development model. The product developed consists of a learning implementation plan, e-learning media, and concept understanding test instruments validated by three expert. Data instruments consist of questionnaires assessing feasibility, practicality of learning, and concept understanding test instruments. The validation results show that the average percentage of the feasibility of lesson plans is 88.6% (very feasible), the e-learning media is 85.1% (very feasible), and the concept understanding instruments is 84.6% (very feasible). The practicality test results showed that the student response was 79.3% with practical criteria, the teacher response was 83% with very practical criteria and the implementation of learning was 78.7% with practical criteria. E-learning media is effective in increasing students' conceptual understanding with an average N-gain score of 67 with medium criteria. Based on this description, it can be concluded that e-learning media based on the blended model is very feasible, practical, and effective for increasing students' understanding of concepts in chemistry learning.

Abstract

Membangun literasi sains pada generasi masa kini diharapkan agar memiliki kemampuan dalam membangun pengetahuan sains dan teknologi untuk berperan dalam menentukan pilihan yang berdampak pada kelangsungan hidup saat ini dan masa mendatang. Salah satu cara mengukur tinggi rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik adalah melalui asesmen, yang mana hasil asesmen PISA peserta didik Indonesia selama tiga tahun terakhir, yakni 2015, 2018, dan 2022 memiliki rerata pencapaian skor literasi sains yang menurun dengan rentang paling rendah pada tahun 2022 dengan jumlah 383. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif metode kombinasi (mixed methods) dengan desain sequential explanatory yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik. Berdasarkan Penelitian tentang kemampuan literasi sains secara keseluruhaan terkategori rendah dengan persentase nilai 59,45%. Hal tersebut diuraikan kepada tiga aspek literasi sains yaitu aspek konteks termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan perolehan nilai 60,11%; pada aspek pengetahuan termasuk ke dalam kategori rendah dengan perolehan sebesar 58,80%; dan pada aspek kompetensi termasuk dalam kategori rendah dengan perolehan nilai 59,25%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali data terkait keterampilan dasar proses sains siswa melalui model pembelajaran Environmental Learning dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan disajikan secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan tingkat keterampilan dasar proses sains siswa yang dinilai melalui kegiatan pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Environmental Learning. Adapun subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V di  MI Negeri  Hulu Sungai Selatan yang berjumlah 29 orang. Sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah keterampilan dasar proses sains siswa melalui model-model pembelajaran Environmental Learning dengan menggunakan teknik tes, observasi, dan wawancara, kemudian data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan dasar proses sains siswa MI Negeri 2 Hulu Sungai Selatan pada indikator observasi dan klasifikasi sudah baik. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai rata-rata kelas pada masing-masing indikator yakni observasi sebesar 76,73 berada pada kategori “Baik”, dan indikator mengklasifikasi dengan rata-rata kelas sebesar 81,20 berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik”. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan dasar proses sains siswa berada pada kategori “baik” dan model Environmental Learning ini dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA terutama untuk mengetahui tingkat keterampilan proses sains.

Abstract

Kabel fiber optik yang sedang berada dalam gangguan atau putus adalah masalah yang sangat umum dalam infrastruktur komunikasi modern yang semakin berkembang. Kerusakan dan putusnya kabel fiber optik dapat mengganggu kualitas transmisi sinyal antara dua lokasi, yang pada akhirnya dapat menyebabkan penurunan kualitas sinyal. Dengan menggunakan Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) adalah salah satu standar untuk mendeteksi redaman pada kabel serat optik yang sedang diuji. Walaupun serat optik memiliki kapasitas besar dan kecepatan tinggi dalam mentransmisikan informasi, redaman sekecil apapun dapat memberikan dampak signifikan pada kualitas transmisi. Oleh karena itu, perawatan dan penanganan gangguan pada kabel fiber optik sangat penting, karena redaman dapat mempengaruhi hilangnya daya transmisi, yang pada gilirannya dapat menghambat pengiriman data dan menurunkan kualitas layanan sinyal internet telekomunikasi.

Abstract

Purpose - This research investigates how the Russia-Ukraine conflict affects the volatility of cryptocurrencies, with a specific focus on the comparative stability of Islamic gold-backed cryptocurrencies versus conventional cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin.Method - Utilizing the GARCH model, this study examines the risk factors and volatility transmission among cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and Tether-gold), traditional financial markets (gold and stock markets), and their interrelationships during the conflict period. The study employs the daily closing prices of Bitcoin, Tether-gold, gold, the S&P 500, and the Dow Jones Islamic Market Index from February 7, 2020, to November 30, 2023.Result - Bitcoin experienced significant volatility during the conflict, while the Tether-gold remained more stable. Islamic gold-backed cryptocurrencies have proven to be more stable than conventional ones during geopolitical crises.Implication - The findings offer valuable insights for investors seeking safe-haven assets during periods of economic uncertainty. Gold-backed cryptocurrencies present a more stable investment option compared to conventional cryptocurrencies, especially for investors adhering to Shariah principles.Originality - This research highlights the stability of Islamic gold-backed cryptocurrencies during geopolitical events, contributing to the understanding of safe-haven assets and offering practical implications for portfolio diversification and risk management.

Abstract

The development of powerpoint-based learning media assisted by mind maps is included in research and development (R&D). min map is one of the teaching materials that makes it easy to place information into the brain and extract information from the brain during learning activities. This study aims to produce learning media based on PowerPoint assisted by a mind map on material on the human circulatory system that is valid and practical. This development research uses the Plomp development model which has three stages, namely the initial investigation stage, the development or prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. The validation results of learning media developed by media experts were 93.33% (very valid), material experts 91.38% (very valid), learning experts 98% (very valid). The result of practicality by students is 89.67% (very practical) and the result of practicality by teachers is 93.49% (very practical).

Abstract

The current condition is still limited in integrated chemistry teaching materials with TPACK(TechnologicalPedagogicalContentKnowledge)especially in Green Chemistry material because this material is a new material in the realm of the merdeka curriculum in 10th Grade of E Phase in Senior High School. Teachers only use printed books as teaching materials or additional materials made in the form of PPTs and modules from the Ministry of Education.This is one of the causes of several problems in learning. This research is the initial stage as the basis for the development of an integrated green chemistry e-module with TPACK. The development model used is ADDIE which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation.This research is limited to the needs analysis stage which includes the analysis of Learning Outcomes (CP) of E Phase, and analysis of topics on chemistry materials, analysis of problems and needs of teachers and problems and needs of students. The data collection instrument uses interviews and questionnaires. The subjects of this study consisted of 12 chemistry teachers and 84 students from Riau and Kepulauan Riau Province. The results of this preliminary analysis research include an analysis of the subject matter of 10th Grade class while there are 5 material topics and based on the questionnaire the needs of these topics include the topics with the highest percentage to be developed into e-modules because they are considered difficult by most respondents. Then the results were also obtained that there are still some shortcomings in the teaching materials used today, so that 94% of students and 100% of teachers stated that they need the development of TPACK-based teaching materials.

Abstract

Science learning in secondary schools has not been fully linked to local culture and the environment, and has not supported students' scientific literacy and cultural character. This is because teachers have difficulty learning the relationship between local culture and finding the right green chemistry principles with science learning. To strengthen the concept of science learned, ethnoscience learning can be oriented with the principles of green chemistry contained in learning media in the form of e-modules. This study aims to determine the profile of scientific literacy and cultural character of students who have been taught with the developed e-modules. The results of the study showed that students' scientific literacy competencies in interpreting scientific data and evidence, designing and evaluating scientific investigations, and explaining scientific phenomena were respectively 57.67, 87.12 and 66.67. This shows that students' literacy abilities are in the moderate category. The highest literacy level achievement is at level 1, at 76.67%, and the lowest at level 6 at 5.0%. While the highest cultural character value is in the curiosity indicator at 85% and the lowest is friendly/communicative with an achievement of 75%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the intention of accounting students to become sustainable auditors. This study uses quantitative methods with data obtained through a questionnaire survey of 25 accounting study program students at ABC Campus. This research model was tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that attitudes towards sustainability, knowledge of sustainability, and university sustainability had no significant influence on students' intention to become sustainable auditors. In addition, job prospects also have no significant effect on students' career intentions. However, knowledge about sustainability, and university sustainability have a significant influence on students' attitudes towards sustainability. This study suggests that more efforts should be made to integrate the concept of sustainability in the education curriculum and career guidance in order to increase students' motivation in this field.
