Abstract

Exhaust emissions are pollutants that pollute the air created by vehicle exhaust gases. Vehicle exhaust gas is defined as the residual gas of the combustion process which is released into the free air through the vehicle exhaust duct. People can be at risk of air pollution from various pollutants, namely people who use roads, people who live on the roadside, and people who work on highways such as traffic police, street vendors, hawkers, and street children who busk at crossroads. The purpose of this study is to discuss and analyze the stages and procedures in the process of conducting an environmental health risk analysis of pollutant pollution in the air. This writing uses the Literature Review method and selection criteria for including carried out from 2018-2023. Calculation of the amount of health risk using the Environmental Health Risk Analysis (ARKL) method. Based on the literature review of these articles, there are still several risk agents (CO, NO2, SO2, PM2.5, and PM10) sources of air pollution that have values above the specified quality standards (RQ1). This is a risk to health both carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic. The impact can occur respiratory disorders and other body systems both in realtime and lifetime. Based on the calculation of the RQ?1 value, exposure to air pollutants in the community will be continued at the risk control and risk communication stages.

Abstract

Stunting, or stunted growth in children, is a serious public health problem in developing countries. The risk factors that contribute to the prevalence of stunting in these countries are complex and multifactorial. In an effort to understand this problem, this study aimed to present a number of risk factors associated with stunting in children in developing countries. Preparing this literature review begins with searching journals, articles, and scientific works through a search engine like Google Scholar and PubMed using the keywords "stunting", "stunting prevalence", "stunting risk factors", "stunting prevention", and "developing countries". The prevalence of stunting cases is still quite high in developing countries. Risk factors for children and mothers play a significant role in the incidence of stunting in children in developing countries. The factors of birth weight, child's age, gender, mother's education level, and family welfare act as the main factors in initiating stunting.

Abstract

Food security has a direct impact on the nutritional intake received by children. When a community or country is unable to ensure a consistent supply of nutritious food, children become vulnerable to deficiencies in essential nutrients needed for their growth and development. This can cause stunting if not treated properly. This study aimed to present the role of food security in the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The literature search process was carried out on various databases (PubMed, Web of Sciences, EMBASE, Cochrane Libraries, and Google Scholar) regarding the role of food security on the incidence of stunting in toddlers. This study follows the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA) recommendations. Food security plays a key role in preventing stunting in children. This includes the availability of sufficient and nutritious food, fair access to food, food security, food diversification, good environmental sanitation, support for farmers, nutrition education, and public awareness about nutritious food. In order to prevent stunting, it is important to ensure that children have adequate access to nutrient-rich and safe food, as well as to educate the public about the importance of good nutrition. With this comprehensive effort, we can create an environment that supports healthy growth and development in children and reduces stunting rates in communities.

Abstract

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a group of infections that are currently responsible for many morbidities and mortality in developing countries, because STIs have a role in facilitating the transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and have a significant negative impact on reproductive health and children. Complications of STIs can cause infertility in both men and women, ectopic pregnancy, cervical cancer, premature death, congenital syphilis, low birth weight, prematurity and ophthalmia neonatorum. In developing nations, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) remain a significant issue due to their high incidence and prevalence. To prevent these issues, efforts to control and prevent STIs are required. In addition to the lack of diagnostic tools for services, rising antibiotic resistance, shifting patterns of STI pathogens, low treatment seeking behavior, and complex transmission dynamics, the lack of political policies to control STIs is fundamental to the limited success of STI control in developing nations. Invest in effective control measures and to maintain and strengthen the basic health system; however, there is a lack of data on the prevalence of diseases and the effectiveness of programs. Primary prevention and a variety of treatment options are some general strategies that can be used to prevent and control STIs in developing nations. Programs for changing behavior, structural interventions, and the use of a variety of prevention technologies are all examples of primary prevention interventions.
