Abstract

Crude oil is one of the household wastes that are often disposed haphazardly without adequate management thus posing environmental pollution and impacting public health. On the other hand, this waste has the potential to be processed into selling-value products, one of which is aromatherapy candles. The market need for aromatherapy candles is relatively high, both for decorative and relaxation needs, so the utilization of safflower oil as a basic ingredient of candle making could be an opportunity for community creative economic empowerment. The March Eleventh University Real Work Tuition (KKN) program was implemented in Krikilan Village, Kalijambe District, Sragen County, with the aim of improving the skills of mothers of Hope Family Program (WHO) beneficiaries through basic roadside aromatherapy candle making training. This activity uses the methods of extension, demonstration, live practice, as well as accompaniment. Activity participants numbered 30 housewives who participated actively in the whole training series. Training results showed a significant improvement in the aspects of knowledge regarding the environmental impact of crude oil, technical skills of wax manufacturing, as well as understanding regarding the economic potential of the product. The resulting aromatherapy wax products have marketable aesthetic qualities and fragrances, thus opening up opportunities for household-based small businesses. Additionally, these activities impact on increasing participants’ sense of self-confidence and social solidarity, which is an important capital in building economic self-reliance. The program proves that a creative skills-based empowerment approach can be an innovative solution in waste management as well as improving community well-being.

Abstract

The term new media refers to types of media that utilize the internet and are based on online technologies. This form of media is characterized by its flexibility, interactive potential, and its ability to function both personally and publicly. As a result, new media has become a modern communication tool used by communicators to convey information to their audiences. Lifepod Media is a digital multiplatform media company established in 2019. It is active across various social media platforms, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube are included. One of its Instagram segments, titled Ngomongin Film, focuses on reviewing Indonesian films. This segment utilizes the Instagram Live feature to discuss films that are either currently showing or upcoming in theaters. This study aims to explore and analyze the social media management strategies employed by Lifepod Media to increase audience engagement on the Ngomongin Film segment. The research applies the SOME model developed by Regina Luttrell, which consists of four key components: 1) Share, 2) Optimize, 3) Manage, and 4) Engage. The study is also grounded in the Uses and Gratification Theory. The findings indicate that the implementation of the SOME model has a significant and well-structured impact. Through this model, Lifepod Media successfully enhances audience engagement on the Ngomongin Film segment.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of product innovation and promotion through creative content strategies on social media on the performance of halal-certified Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bone Regency. Product innovation and promotion are strategic factors that can enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs, particularly in the digital era where social media has become the primary marketing channel. The research employed a quantitative approach with an associative method and the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis technique. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 140 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument utilized a 5-point Likert scale, which had passed validity and reliability testing. The results indicate that product innovation has no significant effect on creative content strategies on social media (t=0.453, p = 0.651) and MSME performance (t=0.265, p= 0.791). Conversely, promotion significantly affects creative content strategies on social media (t = 8.727, p0.000) and MSME performance (t = 2.106, p = 0.036). Creative content strategies on social media have a significant effect on MSME performance (t = 7.261, p = 0.000). Furthermore, creative content strategies significantly mediate the relationship between promotion and MSME performance (t = 5.197, p = 0.000), but do not mediate the relationship between product innovation and MSME performance (t = 0.449, p = 0.653). The implications of these findings suggest that promotion packaged through creative content strategies on social media plays an important role in enhancing the performance of halal-certified MSMEs. Meanwhile, product innovation needs to be supported by relevant marketing strategies to contribute effectively to performance. Therefore, business actors, the government, and other stakeholders should focus on improving digital marketing skills to maximize the potential of social media promotion.

Abstract

Accurate sales forecasting is essential for retail Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to optimize operations and inventory planning in the digital economy. This study compares the forecasting accuracy between Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based methods (Random Forest, Decision Tree) and traditional techniques (Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing) using 3,600 transaction records from five retail MSMEs over three months. A quantitative experimental approach was employed to evaluate model performance under real-world conditions, including market fluctuations and seasonal anomalies. Evaluation metrics include Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and cross-validation techniques. The findings indicate that the Random Forest model achieves superior accuracy (MAPE = 8.5%) compared to traditional methods (MAPE = 15.2%). Explainable AI (XAI) using SHAP and LIME further enhances transparency and managerial trust. Although traditional methods offer faster computation and ease of interpretation, AI-based models show resilience against unpredictable sales patterns. This research recommends hybrid adoption strategies that balance predictive power with interpretability for MSMEs with limited technical capacity. The results contribute to the discourse on digital transformation and intelligent forecasting in the MSME sectors.

Abstract

Purpose: According to P3KE data, the number of households experiencing extreme poverty in Donggala Regency in 2023 reached 27,964 families. This data highlights the persistently high rate of extreme poverty in the region, including in Masaingi Village, which remains home to residents experiencing extreme poverty. Based on this, this community service activity aims to enhance the role and awareness of village government officials in efforts to alleviate extreme poverty in Siboang Village, Donggala. Methodology: This activity employs an andragogical approach, emphasizing adult learning principles that focus on intrinsic motivation and self-directed learning. The program was conducted in Masaingi Village, Donggala Regency. Results: Based on a review of the Masaingi Village Budget realization report, the village's expenditure has not complied with regulatory provisions. This activity seeks to motivate and raise awareness among Masaingi Village government officials about the importance of their role, particularly in optimizing the village fund budget to combat extreme poverty in their areas. Conclusion: Strengthening officials’ capacity and awareness is essential for regulatory compliance, effective budget management and targeted poverty alleviation. The sustainable reduction of extreme poverty requires proactive planning, transparency, and alignment of funds with community needs. Limitations: The limitations of this study lie in its focus on a local scale, making its findings and recommendations potentially less generalizable to other regions with different characteristics. Additionally, the study relies on data available at the village level, which may be influenced by the quality and completeness of the reporting from relevant parties. Contribution: This study offers a practical model for capacity building in rural governance, demonstrating how andragogy can enhance local government performance in poverty reduction.
