Abstract

Learning obstacles are a major concern in education due to their impact on students’ academic achievement and overall development. This research seeks to explore how learning difficulties influence academic progress among elementary students. Using a qualitative phenomenological method, the study investigated the lived experiences of two fifth-grade students from SDIT Hajjah Fauziah in Binjai, gathering data through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results revealed four prominent effects: (1) consistent and widespread academic decline, particularly in interconnected subjects; (2) a drop in learning motivation leading to disengagement and passive behavior; (3) cumulative knowledge gaps that worsen over time due to incomplete understanding; and (4) long-term implications on higher education, career opportunities, and students' emotional well-being. These findings underscore the necessity of implementing adaptive teaching methods and providing psychological support to address learning barriers early on

Abstract

School facilities are fundamental for achieving an effective, efficient, and character-building learning environment . SMP IT Al-Hijrah, accredited A school, provides facilities such classrooms, a computer lab, prayer room, and reading room, proactively managed by the Vice Principal for Facilities. This study aims to evaluate the adequacy and accessibility of facilities, facility management, and integration of infrastructure into the learning process and character development of students at SMP IT Al Hijrah. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, in-depth interviews with the Vice Principal for Facilities, Data analysis was conducted through reduction, thematic presentation. Results show that the school’s facilities are adequate and accessible, management is systematic and sustainable, and infrastructure integration supports student motivation as well as religious and environmental character formation. Facility management and utilization at SMP IT Al-Hijrah successfully create a synergy between physical quality, systematic administration, and a character-based learning environment. It is recommended to maintain the established management procedures and further develop the facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in addressing student discipline issues at MTsS Al-Washliyah Tembung. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that BK teachers serve not only as enforcers of school rules but also as character educators through both individual and group counseling strategies. These strategies include open dialogue, parental involvement, and the application of educational rather than punitive sanctions. Challenges faced include limited parental engagement, time constraints in providing counseling services, and students’ uncooperative behavior. The study highlights that effective discipline development is influenced by active involvement of BK teachers, inter-party collaboration, and humanistic approaches. The findings provide insights for improving character-building programs in educational institutions.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need to understand teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of inclusive education in Indonesia, specifically at MIS Nurul Fadhillah. Inclusive education aims to provide equal learning opportunities for all children, including those with special needs, aligned with philosophical, legal, and pedagogical foundations. The purpose of this research is to explore teachers’ perceptions, attitudes, and the challenges they face in implementing inclusive education, as well as to identify strategies for enhancing the program’s success. The study employs a qualitative methodology with a case study approach, utilizing interviews and direct observations with teachers at the selected school. Data are collected systematically and analyzed thematically to provide a comprehensive understanding of perceptions and challenges encountered. The findings reveal that teachers’ perceptions significantly influence the success of inclusive education; positive attitudes and adequate competence enhance learning quality and inclusiveness. However, challenges such as insufficient training, limited facilities, and negative perceptions from society and parents remain.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the strategies implemented by teachers to increase students’ reading interest at SD Swasta Annysa. Reading interest among elementary students in Indonesia remains relatively low, influenced by the widespread use of digital technology and limited family support for reading habits at home. The study applied a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews with teachers and documentation of literacy activities at school. The findings revealed that teachers face various challenges, including students’ preference for gadgets over books and the lack of parental involvement in fostering reading habits at home. To address these issues, teachers introduced strategies such as daily 15-minute reading sessions before lessons and encouraging students to retell what they have read in front of the class. These methods not only build reading routines but also enhance students' comprehension and verbal communication skills. This study highlights the crucial role of collaboration among schools, teachers, parents, and the wider community in cultivating a sustainable and effective reading culture. The results of this research are expected to serve as a practical reference for educators in developing literacy strategies that are contextual and aligned with the needs of elementary students in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji strategi yang diterapkan oleh kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru di MAS Al-Wasliyah 22 Tembung. Kedisiplinan guru menjadi aspek krusial dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang kondusif dan berdampak pada mutu pendidikan secara keseluruhan. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa kepala sekolah menerapkan berbagai strategi seperti pendekatan persuasif, keteladanan, penerapan aturan yang konsisten, monitoring dan evaluasi rutin, peningkatan motivasi, serta penguatan hubungan kekeluargaan di lingkungan sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi antara ketegasan, komunikasi yang baik, dan suasana kerja yang positif dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru secara signifikan.

Abstract

This study, titled "Islamic Religious Education Teachers' Strategies in Teaching Sex Education at SMP Swasta Budisatrya Medan," is based on observations that many students at SMP Swasta Budisatrya Medan face challenges in understanding sex education content that is not explicitly stated in the curriculum. This research aims to analyze the strategies used by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in delivering sex education to students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at SMP Swasta Budisatrya Medan in the 2023/2024 academic year. Primary data sources are derived from observations and interviews, while secondary data sources are from school documents and archives. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results show that the strategies used by PAI teachers in teaching sex education include integrating relevant content into appropriate lessons, using lecture and discussion methods, and developing materials based on the teachers' personal experiences. These strategies are effective in enhancing students' understanding of sex education, despite challenges such as the lack of specific references and supporting teaching media. It is recommended that teachers continue to develop culturally and socially sensitive teaching strategies to address challenges in sex education.

Abstract

In madrasahs, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays an important role in character building for students. However, as digital technology advances, innovative methods of learning systems are needed to enhance character education. Using bibliometric research methods, this study aims to discover and analyze innovations in the PAI learning system methods in the digital era. This study summarizes various methods and techniques that can help cultivate Islamic character in madrasahs by using appropriate digital technology. The results show that the integration of technology in PAI learning, such as online methods, educational social media, and character-based learning applications, is highly likely to support the character formation of students in madrasahs to create students with noble character.

Abstract

Kompetensi pedagogik merupakan aspek krusial yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap guru dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran yang efektif dan bermakna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru melalui program pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan (PPB). Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan observasi lapangan pada beberapa sekolah menengah pertama yang telah menerapkan PPB secara sistematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan, komunitas belajar, supervisi akademik, dan refleksi praktik mengajar secara rutin mampu meningkatkan pemahaman guru terhadap karakteristik peserta didik, perencanaan pembelajaran, serta penerapan strategi evaluasi yang lebih tepat. Selain itu, keterlibatan guru dalam program PPB juga mendorong terbangunnya budaya belajar sepanjang hayat yang berdampak positif terhadap kualitas pengajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar setiap institusi pendidikan mengintegrasikan program pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan sebagai bagian dari sistem pembinaan guru secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi merujuk pada keterampilan pada memahami teks serta memberikan berita dalam bentuk tulisan. advert meantime itu, numerasi merupakan keterampilan yg berkaitan menggunakan pemahaman, penerapan, dan pemikiran tentang angka dan konsep matematika pada berbagai konteks kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode yg dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif menggunakan Systematic Literature overview (SLR) menjadi alat buat mengumpulkan berita. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah buat memperkuat penerapan budaya literasi di sekolah menggunakan cara mengintegrasikannya pada kurikulum, menaikkan peranan orang tua, serta menambah variasi buku pada perpustakaan. Manfaat yang diperoleh mencakup peningkatan pemahaman ihwal literasi, motivasi siswa buat membaca, serta pembentukan budaya literasi yg kokoh pada tingkat SD. Temuan penelitian ini membagikan akibat positif berasal penguatan budaya literasi, seperti peningkatan pemahaman literasi, dorongan peserta didik buat membaca, serta terbentuknya budaya literasi yg berkelanjutan pada lingkungan Sekolah Dasar. kiprah guru sebagai teladan, fasilitator, serta penyedia asal belajar mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keberhasilan aplikasi budaya literasi. Para guru berfungsi menjadi pendidik, pembimbing, panutan, dan asal pengetahuan bagi peserta didik. Selain itu, mereka jua berperan menjadi fasilitator, pemberi semangat, dan inspirator buat membantu siswa mencapai potensi terbaik mereka. Penelitian ini mengandalkan beragam literatur sebagai sumber utama yg diteliti dan dianalisis sinkron menggunakan gosip atau topik yang telah dipengaruhi, sebagai akibatnya metode penelitian ini dikenal menjadi kajian pustaka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan numerasi serta literasi pada tingkat Sekolah Dasar. berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, para pengajar memberikan contoh yg baik, menciptakan suasana belajar yg menyenangkan, bisa memanfaatkan teknologi, bersikap sabar pada membantu siswa yang belum memahami isi pelajaran, serta menyampaikan umpan kembali yang konstruktif.
