Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disorder that causes a decrease in the quality of life in elderly patients. The current treatment is only symptomatic in reducing inflammation. This study is one of the exploratory studies to examine the potential of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in optimizing the improvement of OA patients through the inhibition of inflammatory signals in joint tissue in vivo. Methods: This study is an experimental study with a post-test-only approach with a control group design. A total of 30 rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain was included in this study and met the inclusion criteria in the form of the male gender, weight between 150-200 grams, and age 8-10 weeks. The rats were divided into 3 groups, namely the group that was not induced by OA and not given PRP (P1), the OA group and given 50 uL saline injection (P2), the OA group and given PRP 50 uL (P3), the treatment was carried out once a week for 4 weeks. Results: The results showed that the P3 group that was treated with platelet-rich plasma showed a significant decrease in interleukin-1ß levels when compared to the P2 group that was induced by OA but was only treated with saline (p<0.05). Conclusion: Platelet-rich plasma has the potential as a biological agent against osteoarthritis in an in vivo study.

Abstract

The structural equation modelling (SEM) method has stronger predicting power than path analysis and multiple regression because SEM is able to analyze at the deepest level the variables or constructs studied. This literature review aimed to describe the use of structural equation modelling in research. In general, SEM can be used to analyze research models that have several independent (exogenous) and dependent (endogenous) variables, as well as moderating or intervening variables. SEM provides several benefits and advantages for researchers, including building research models with many variables, examining variables or constructs that cannot be observed or cannot be measured directly (unobserved), testing measurement errors (measurement errors) for observed variables or constructs ( observed) and confirmatory factor analysis. Broadly speaking, SEM methods can be classified into two types, namely covariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) and variance or component-based SEM (VB-SEM), which includes partial least squares (PLS) and generalized structured component analysis (GSCA). This literature review aimed to describe the use of structural equation modelling in research.

Abstract

The relationship between variables in structural equation modeling (SEM) forms a structural model. This structural model can be explained through structural equations, such as in regression analysis. This structural equation describes the prediction of the latent (exogenous) independent variable on the latent (endogenous) dependent variable. Researchers who use analysis with structural equation models need to know whether the model built with empirical data has a unique value or not so that the model can be estimated. If the model does not have a unique value, then the model cannot be identified (unidentified). The cause of a model is categorized as unidentified because the information contained in empirical data is not sufficient to produce a unique solution in calculating model estimation parameters. This literature review aims to describe the process of data analysis using SEM.

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesian Fisheries Management Area (IFMA) 713 is a strategic and potential area for utilizing large pelagic fishery resources. In general, there are no fixed fishing grounds for large pelagic fish, and they are always changing and moving following the movement of environmental conditions, which naturally causes fish to choose a more suitable habitat. This study examines the distribution and abundance of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) and little tuna (Euthynnus sp) in relation to oceanographic conditions such as the distribution of sea surface temperature and sea surface chlorophyll-a concentrations in Indonesian Fisheries Management Area 713, which includes the Makassar Strait, Flores Sea, and Bone Bay. Based on the findings, skipjack tuna tends to be caught at warmer temperatures and higher chlorophyll-a concentrations than little tuna. Skipjack tuna tended to be distributed at a temperature of 29.84°C-30.28°C, which was associated with a chlorophyll-a concentration of 0.3 mg m-3, in contrast to little tuna, which was distributed at a temperature of 27.92°C-28.66°C with the most productive chlorophyll-a concentration (relatively high CPUE) of 0.2 mg m-3. This information on habitat distribution and optimum conditions of oceanographic parameters is very useful for the sustainable management of skipjack tuna and little tuna in the IFMA 713. in contrast to little tuna, which was distributed at a temperature of 27.92°C-28.66°C with the most productive chlorophyll-a concentration (relatively high CPUE) of 0.2 mg m-3. Abstract

The research objective is to determine the correlation between coordination, motivation, and anxiety towards the shooting performance of soccer players in SSB IPJ Kota Palopo. The research method used is a descriptive study with correlational nature. The population in this research consists of soccer athletes from SSB IPJ Kota Palopo. The sampling technique employed is purposive sampling with specific considerations by the researcher, involving a total of 20 soccer athletes as participants in the study. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 23.The research results indicate that the coordination variable has a calculated t-score of 4.504, while the critical t-score (t-table) is 2.119. Since the calculated t-score is greater than the critical t-score (t-calculated > t-table), it can be concluded that coordination has a significant influence on shooting performance. Similarly, the motivation variable has a calculated t-score of 4.946, exceeding the critical t-score of 2.119, leading to the conclusion that motivation significantly affects shooting performance. Likewise, the anxiety variable has a calculated t-score of 5.032, which surpasses the critical t-score of 2.119, indicating that anxiety also has a significant impact on shooting performance. From the data analysis, an F-count value of 23.418 and a significance value (sig.) of 0.000 are obtained. Since the F-count value (23.418) is greater than the critical F-value (2.119), and the significance value is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), H1 is accepted. This implies that collectively, coordination, motivation, and anxiety have a statistically significant impact on shooting performance. With an R-value of 0.902, it can be concluded that the ability of the independent variables to explain the variation in the dependent variable is sufficiently strong.v
