Abstract

This study analyzes illocutionary act in political debate that was conducted by general election commision on March, 30 2019. This debate was about ideology, government, security and defense, and international relationship. In this research, Searle’s theory was used who classified five types of illocutionary act; representative, directive, commisive, expressive, and declarative. This research used descriptive qualitative. The main focus of this study is to get deep understanding and interpretation how the politicians argue each other using illocutionary act. The results of this study suggested that both of the candidates of president did not use all of the illocutionary act types proposed by Searle. The three illocutionary acts used by both of the candidates are, representative, directive, commissive. Meanwhile, another type of illocutionary acts used by one of the candidates is declarative, while another one used expressive.

Abstract

This research analyzed the lexical style employed in Setyo Novanto's memes, which have gained widespread circulation on various social media platforms. In order to attain this goal, the study employs van Dijk's theory, which identifies lexical style as a crucial component of the microstructure of memes on social media. The primary aim of this study is to describe the words and expressions utilized to insinuate and criticize Setyo Novanto's conduct. This research was qualitative and delves into the internal structure of the text, including words, phrases, propositions, and sentences. The analysis revealed that writers from diverse cultural, knowledge, and ideological backgrounds used specific lexical to scrutinize Setyo Novanto's behavior in relation to his status. This study provided valuable insights into how social media users employed language to express their opinions and criticisms of public figures. Overall, this research was highly informative in terms of shedding light on the way social media users utilized language to express their opinions and criticisms of public figures.

Abstract

The present qualitative study explores the perceptions of seven Thai undergraduate students in a university on the online learning medium when the COVID-19 pandemic hit this country. Semi-structured interviews were created to clarify the students' viewpoints on online learning medium. Thematic content analysis was used to analyze the transcriptions of the data collected from the online interviews. The study elicits three significant data themes that are connected to the research questions: the Thai students’ perception towards the online learning medium, their preference on the online learning medium, and the problems faced by them along using the online learning medium and the solving. Findings showed that the using of online learning mediums helped Thai students in lecturing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The most preferred online learning medium they use is WhatsApp application, followed by Google Meet as the second choice. They prefer WhatsApp to other online learning mediums or applications since it is stable, cheap, and easy to use. They also re-studied the lecturer’s explanation everywhere and anytime. The research found some problems students faced while using Google Meet or Zoom; the most common problem they faced was an unstable connection. While excessive internet data usage was another obstacle faced by them. To solve those problems, they frequently moved to another place providing free Wi-Fi or asked their friends or family to share the hotspot.

Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji pembelajaran ihwal nasionalisme. Tema initerdapat dalam materi pelajaran di kelas dua belas. Lagu-laguRhoma Irama bertema tentang nasionalisme diberikan melaluimetode kualitatif deskriprif penelitian ini dilakukan. Data yangdiperlukan diunduh dari laman mesin pencari data atau google.Demikan sehingga diketahui bahwa lagu-lagu Rhoma Iramadidapati pembelajaran tentang persatuan, anti korupsi, dan mawasdiri. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif setiap lagu Rhoma Irama hanyadiambil lima lagu dari sekian lagu yang ada lalu dianalisis untukmengetahui nilai-nilai yang nasionalisme yang terkandung dalamlagu-lagu beliau. Dari beberapa lagu yang dianalisis, ada liriknyayang mengenai persatuan adalah “Muliakan jangan kau hinakankaummu yang lemah ini”. lirik lainnya yang membahas mengenaikesadaran diri adalah “agama Cuma di lisan tak lagi diamalkan,keimanan pada tuhan Cuma berupa slogan” . beberapa lirik diatasmenggambarkan mengenai nasionalisme melalui lirik lagu RhomaIrama, sehingga diharapkan dari lirik tersebut dapat dipelajarimengenai nasionalisme yang tersirat dari lagu Rhoma Iramatersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IX mengetahuinilai-nilai nasionalisme dari analisis lagu-lagu Rhoma Irama. Maknayang terkandung dalam lagu-lagu yang diajarkan kepada siswa agarsiswa mengetahui bahwa belajar mengenai nilai-nilai nasionalismetidak hanya dari buku pelajaran, dari lagu pun dapat dengan mudahdidapatkan menegani nilai-nilai nasionalisme.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the activities conducted by religious counselors and to assess the public's interest in flyer media for guidance or counseling. Religious counselors have the task of conducting counseling guidance, developing guidance, and professional development. Before conducting counseling guidance, religious counselors must prepare monographs and activity plans, as well as develop guidance materials and evaluation instruments. This research method uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. The method used is descriptive. This study concludes: First, the tasks of religious counselors in conducting counseling guidance for the community begin with guidance preparation, counseling/information services, work plan preparation, guidance or counseling material preparation, guidance implementation, counseling assistance, religious problem mediation, guidance monitoring and evaluation, cross-sectoral cooperation activities, guidance or counseling model development, and guidance or counseling guideline preparation; Second, Flyer media can attract the public's/ congregants' interest in reading. In this case, flyer media is distributed through social media, known as e-flyers. Flyers distributed through social networks are faster, more massive, and more focused on the recipients, accompanied by a call to action to encourage readers to continue reading on the religious counselor's blog.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the role of Islamic religious education conducted by religious counselors in shaping the personalities of female sex workers in Kediri Regency. The classic problem of prostitution persists without a solution. Islamic religious counselors in Kediri Regency attempt to provide a solution through religious education for female sex workers (FSWs). This study is based on the social control theory, employing a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data collection methods include observation and interviews, with phenomenological data analysis. The research involves Islamic religious counselors and female sex workers in Kediri Regency. The findings of this study conclude that: First, Islamic religious counselors conduct religious education for female sex workers by establishing Islamic boarding schools in the midst of red-light districts; Second, the implementation of religious education utilizes methods, materials, and strategies tailored to the needs of FSWs; Third, religious education transforms the personalities of female sex workers, leading them back to the right path, fostering a more religious lifestyle, and transitioning to different professions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis FoMO pada konsumen produk Scarlett Whitening. Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) adalah salah satu faktor seseorang aktif dalam menggunakan media sosial dan terdapat hubungan antara FoMO dengan frekuensi penggunaan media sosial. Dengan kata lain, individu yang mengalami FoMO cenderung akan mengikuti berbagai aktivitas yang dilakukan oleh orang lain demi memenuhi keinginan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi fear of missing out dilihat dari dimensi FoMO personal dan FoMO sosial pada konsumen produk Scarlett Whitening. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 130 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan non-probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Partisipan pada penelitian ini merupakan pengguna produk Scarlett Whitening untuk perawatan kulitnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah kuesioner dengan skala likert dan pengolahan data menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS 29 dalam melakukan uji validitas sebuah instrument terhadap indikator-indikator dalam kuesioner online yang telah diisi oleh responden. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa faktor sosial seperti: perasaan terhubung dengan orang lain, keinginan untuk diterima dalam kelompok sosial, dan pengalaman teman dalam membeli produk Scarlett Whitening, menjadi pertimbangan dalam penggunaan produk Scarlett Whitening. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, maka peneliti memberikan saran rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya agar penelitian dimasa mendatang diharapkan dapat mengeskplor faktor lain, selain faktor personal dan sosial, serta menggunakan metode yang lebih mendalam seperti wawancara untuk lebih memahami pola konsumsi terkait FoMO. Selain itu, penelitian dimasa mendatang diharapkan dapat menambah jumlah sampel untuk memastikan bahwa sampel yang diteliti dapat mewakili populasi secara akurat.

Abstract

The application of interesting and unique ice breaking can be a solution to overcome student boredom and saturation in learning activities. Exciting and fun ice breaking activities can strengthen connections, build concentration, improve communication, and create a warmer and friendlier atmosphere. Ice Breaking activities are generally used in several parts of the activity. One of them is when opening a lecture. The implementation of ice breaking in learning to reduce student learning boredom was carried out in the second semester of the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program, Al Hikmah Tebing Tinggi Tarbiyah Science College. Based on the research results, it appears that there is an effect of implementing ice breaking in reducing boredom and increasing student enthusiasm for learning. The decrease in learning boredom from the high to low category was inseparable from the influence of the implementation of ice breaking which was carried out over twelve meetings and saw a shift in students' attitudes from what previously looked tense to being cheerful. Ice breaking can foster interest in learning, make the atmosphere more comfortable and can increase student cohesiveness in class and during the lecture process. This research aims to explain the application of ice breaking in student learning activities in class. In this research, qualitative methods and literature study were used. The data obtained is collected, analyzed, and conclusions are drawn in the implementation of learning each week so that it can be seen and compared whether learning uses ice breaking or not.

Abstract

The COVID pandemic that has hit all countries in the world has made the 2013 curriculum a modern learning approach that is appropriate to current conditions. Modern learning places students as learning subjects, and teachers act as facilitators. The research method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. Aims to determine the implementation of the recitation method in the learning process. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be seen that the recitation method can be a solution to support learning objectives. The recitation method can stimulate student abilities such as independence, responsibility, and discipline. Therefore, the recitation method is an appropriate learning method that can be carried out by subject teachers in an effort to increase students' learning motivation and train students' independence and responsibility.

Abstract

Speaking is more than just creating and constructing sentences correctly and with proper grammar, but the ability to speak has a broad scope, such as in the fields of mechanics, functions, pragmatics, communication, and social interaction. To find out the students' ability, the teacher gives them a test. As an assessment, the teacher conducts a speaking test to find out how well students speak and their progress in learning. The speaking test is a procedure to measure students' speaking ability in which students are required to speak aloud, conveying their ideas, and then students are graded based on their speech. This research was conducted at LPBA Al-Yasini where the researchers focused on the scoring procedure for the spontaneity speech in assessing the students’ speaking skill. This research was descriptive-qualitative method. The result of the research was there are several aspect that used by LPBA to assess spontaneity speech, which are fluency, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, pronunciation they are then divided into three categories, which are body language, delivery and content.
