Abstract

The application of interesting and unique ice breaking can be a solution to overcome student boredom and saturation in learning activities. Exciting and fun ice breaking activities can strengthen connections, build concentration, improve communication, and create a warmer and friendlier atmosphere. Ice Breaking activities are generally used in several parts of the activity. One of them is when opening a lecture. The implementation of ice breaking in learning to reduce student learning boredom was carried out in the second semester of the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program, Al Hikmah Tebing Tinggi Tarbiyah Science College. Based on the research results, it appears that there is an effect of implementing ice breaking in reducing boredom and increasing student enthusiasm for learning. The decrease in learning boredom from the high to low category was inseparable from the influence of the implementation of ice breaking which was carried out over twelve meetings and saw a shift in students' attitudes from what previously looked tense to being cheerful. Ice breaking can foster interest in learning, make the atmosphere more comfortable and can increase student cohesiveness in class and during the lecture process. This research aims to explain the application of ice breaking in student learning activities in class. In this research, qualitative methods and literature study were used. The data obtained is collected, analyzed, and conclusions are drawn in the implementation of learning each week so that it can be seen and compared whether learning uses ice breaking or not.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes and compares the administrative penalty for late issuing tax invoices between Indonesia and Vietnam. The existence of a penalty has not been a driving factor for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations. Article 14 paragraph (4) General Provisions and Tax Procedures Law regulates the tax penalty for late issuing tax invoices, the same as for those who do not issue invoices. The administrative penalty needs to be analyzed more and compared with other countries' practices. VAT penalty cannot necessarily increase the compliance of taxable entrepreneurs. This research uses primary and secondary data sources for the qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that tax penalties should be designed by looking at the level of taxpayer error. Vietnam has no administrative penalty for the late issue of tax invoices but differentiates more penalties for tax invoices according to the level of violation. Tax penalties in Indonesia should be designed by considering the level of taxpayer violation, as Vietnam regulates. Administrative penalties for late tax invoices should not be the same as those imposed on taxpayers who did not issue tax invoices. The study recommends that tax authorities re-design the administrative penalties policy regarding tax invoice violations.

Abstract

Language acquisition during early childhood represents a critical stage in cognitive and social development. This study investigates the language acquisition of a two-year-old child living in Medan, Indonesia, focusing on vocabulary growth, sentence structure, and caregiver interaction. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, naturalistic observations were conducted over two weeks, documenting the child’s spontaneous speech and communicative exchanges. The findings reveal that the child produced approximately 75 distinct words, primarily nouns and verbs, reflecting daily routines and immediate surroundings. The child’s utterances were dominated by two-word combinations and telegraphic speech, consistent with Brown’s (1973) two-word stage. Caregiver interaction played a central role, with prompting, expansion, and feedback serving as scaffolding mechanisms that enriched the child’s linguistic development. Comparisons with recent studies confirm the universality of these developmental patterns while highlighting cultural and contextual influences on vocabulary and sentence use. This study contributes to the growing body of research on language acquisition in non-Western contexts and underscores the importance of caregiver support in fostering early language development.   Keywords: language acquisition, two-year-old child, vocabulary development, telegraphic speech, caregiver interaction.   DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17528194
