Abstract

This study aimed This study aimed to analyze trends and directions in Game-Based Learning (GBL)-based e-module research in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) teaching at the elementary school level from 2020 to 2025. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a bibliographic approach guided by the PRISMA framework. Data were collected from scientific databases and analyzed using bibliometric visualization and content analysis techniques. Of 1,277 initially identified articles, 490 met the eligibility criteria, with 34 articles selected for in-depth bibliometric and content analysis. The findings indicate a steady growth in publications related to GBL-based e-modules, with the highest increase observed in 2024. Research focus has shifted from simple media digitization toward the design of interactive e-modules that promote motivation, collaboration, and 21st-century competencies. The reviewed studies highlight that integrating game elements in e-modules enhances students’ engagement, scientific understanding, and learning outcomes. Furthermore, emerging trends point to the integration of smart technologies such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality, as well as project-based learning models that emphasize contextual and student-centered experiences. These findings affirm that GBL-based e-modules hold strong potential as a strategic medium for supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, fostering adaptive, reflective, and sustainable learning environments in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the joyful learning approach combined with instructional media in improving Mathematics learning outcomes among fifth-grade elementary school students. The review was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data sources were collected by searching documentation and reviewing all articles relevant to the keywords “joyful learning,” “instructional media,” “mathematics,” and “fifth grade.” The findings indicate that the implementation of joyful learning consistently provides a positive impact on the improvement of Mathematics learning outcomes among fifth-grade students. This approach is able to create an enjoyable, interactive, and meaningful learning atmosphere, thereby increasing students’ motivation, participation, and conceptual understanding. The use of instructional media—whether concrete, digital, or game-based—reinforces the effectiveness of joyful learning by providing varied learning experiences aligned with students’ developmental characteristics. Based on the findings, the majority of studies conclude that the combination of joyful learning and instructional media is effective for implementation in Mathematics learning to improve fifth-grade students’ learning outcomes. Thus, it can be concluded that the joyful learning approach supported by instructional media is an innovative strategy worthy of application in fifth-grade Mathematics instruction at the elementary school level

Abstract

The integration of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has been increasingly promoted to support both academic achievement and character development in primary education. However, systematic evidence on the application of SEL-based PBL in elementary social studies learning remains limited. This study aims to review research trends and empirical findings on the implementation of SEL-based PBL in elementary schools from 2020 to 2025. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data were collected from Scopus, SINTA, ScienceDirect, and Publish or Perish (PoP) databases. From 103,090 identified records, 33 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using bibliometric and content analysis supported by VOSviewer.The findings indicate that SEL-based PBL consistently improves students’ social-emotional skills, emotional intelligence, character, collaboration, learning motivation, and academic outcomes. Bibliometric mapping shows a growing focus on 21st-century skills and emotional regulation since 2022. However, this review reveals research gaps, particularly the limited focus on social studies, the use of small samples and non-standardized SEL instruments, and the lack of studies on digital or hybrid SEL-based PBL models. Further rigorous and large-scale studies are therefore needed to strengthen the empirical foundation of this approach.

Abstract

Deep learning has emerged as a critical pedagogical framework integrating cognitive depth with character development in elementary education, yet systematic evidence mapping research trends remains limited. This study analyzes trends in deep learning research for elementary school character building during 2020-2025. A systematic review following PRISMA methodology examined 690 publications from Scopus and Google Scholar databases. Following rigorous screening using predetermined inclusion-exclusion criteria, bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer software to identify publication patterns, geographic distribution, methodological approaches, and thematic evolution. Analysis revealed exponential publication growth from 2020 to 2025, peaking in 2024-2025, with Indonesia dominating (65% of publications). Research and Development methodology predominated (46%), while questionnaires and tests dominated assessment approaches (89%). Network visualization demonstrated paradigm shift from technology-oriented computational approaches toward humanistic pedagogies emphasizing meaningful understanding and values integration. Temporal analysis revealed emerging themes including project-based learning, moral education, and Pancasila student profile dimensions, reflecting alignment with Indonesia's Merdeka Curriculum implementation. Findings document significant conceptual transformation wherein "deep learning" terminology migrated from artificial intelligence to pedagogical domains. However, methodological limitations persist, including limited longitudinal designs, cross-cultural comparisons, and authentic character assessment instruments. Results illuminate research-policy dynamics while identifying priorities for advancing theoretical understanding and practical implementation of character-integrated deep learning pedagogies in elementary education.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the last five years has led to a significant increase in the use of digital literacy-based learning media in elementary schools. This trend has strengthened since the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the transformation of learning from conventional to digital. This article aims to examine the trend of developing digital literacy-based learning media in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools for the period 2020–2025. The writing method used is a systematic literature study of relevant national and international scientific articles. The results of the study show that since 2020, there has been a shift from the use of simple digital media such as PDF modules and learning videos to more interactive media such as Android-based applications, online learning platforms, and gamification media. In addition, the trend of integrating digital literacy into Indonesian language learning not only improves students' basic literacy skills but also encourages active engagement, collaboration, and creativity. However, several challenges remain, such as the technology access gap, limited teacher competence, and lack of integration with the local cultural context. The conclusion drawn from this paper is that the trend of developing digital literacy-based learning media needs to be directed towards a more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable approach in order to support the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

In science education in elementary schools, students often have difficulty understanding abstract concepts, which leads to low motivation and poor learning outcomes. Therefore, innovative, interactive learning media that can visualize concepts concretely are needed. This study aims to examine trends in the development of augmented reality (AR) media in science education in elementary schools for the period 2020–2025. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the help of Publish or Perish software connected to Google Scholar. From the initial 500 articles, a gradual selection was made based on the criteria of relevance, feasibility, and topic suitability, resulting in 22 articles being analyzed. The results of the study show that the trend of AR media development will increase significantly in 2024–2025, indicating a high level of interest among researchers in interactive technology-based media. AR media has been proven to be feasible and effective for use in science education because it can improve students' conceptual understanding, motivation, creativity, and learning outcomes, especially for abstract material. Additionally, various studies developed AR using the ADDIE model, Borg and Gall, and the Assemblr Edu platform to strengthen interactivity and practicality. In conclusion, AR-based learning media has great potential for implementation in elementary schools as a 21st-century learning innovation capable of addressing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki relevansi yang tinggi mengingat peran krusial pola asuh dalam tahap awal perkembangan kepribadian dan kognitif, terutama pada tingkat sekolah dasar, yang merupakan periode pembentukan kemampuan berpikir dan karakter anak. Pemahaman mendalam tentang dampak pola asuh terhadap perkembangan kognitif dan karakter anak sangat penting, mengingat efek jangka panjang yang dapat memengaruhi keterampilan berpikir kritis, keterampilan sosial, disiplin, dan rasa tanggung jawab mereka. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki bagaimana berbagai praktik pengasuhan mempengaruhi aspek tersebut pada siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tinjauan pustaka, yang menganalisis berbagai buku, jurnal, dan studi sebelumnya untuk mendapatkan gambaran komprehensif tentang pengaruh praktik pengasuhan terhadap perkembangan anak. Melalui pendekatan ini, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gaya pengasuhan yang mendukung atau menghambat perkembangan sosial, emosional, dan kognitif anak di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui kajian sistematis literatur (Systematic Literature Review/SLR). Metode yang digunakan melibatkan tahapan identifikasi, seleksi, klasifikasi, evaluasi, dan sintesis terhadap 17 artikel ilmiah yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2019 hingga 2025. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas media yang dikembangkan berbasis teknologi digital seperti multimedia interaktif, animasi, game edukatif, serta media berbasis web dan aplikasi mobile. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif secara konsisten valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa, memotivasi peserta didik, serta meningkatkan partisipasi aktif dan kemandirian belajar. Media tersebut juga berperan dalam mengurangi kecemasan serta menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang menarik dan bermakna. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif dapat menjadi solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika di era digital.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis etnosains dalam meningkatkan kualitas proses belajar mengajar di Indonesia. Etnosains adalah pendekatan yang mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal dan budaya daerah dengan ilmu pengetahuan, khususnya sains, untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang relevan dan bermakna. Metode penelitian yang digunakan studi literatur dari 15 artikel penelitian yang terbit antara 2019 hingga 2025, ditemukan bahwa penggunaan media berbasis etnosains efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar, pemahaman konsep, kemampuan berpikir kritis, literasi sains, dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media ini mampu mengaitkan pengetahuan ilmiah dengan pengalaman dan budaya lokal siswa, sehingga mereka merasa lebih terhubung dan termotivasi. Berbagai jenis media dikembangkan, seperti LKPD berbasis PjBL, media interaktif, scrapbook, dan buku saku digital yang terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis etnosains layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pendidikan, khususnya di daerah yang kaya akan budaya lokal, untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study is a literature review that analyzes previous research on the development of Augmented Reality (AR)-based E-Modules in science learning (IPA) at the elementary school level, with a focus on enhancing students’ critical thinking skills. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method guided by the PRISMA protocol. Articles were collected from databases such as Google Scholar, ERIC, and ScienceDirect, using inclusion criteria that included publications from 2020 to 2025, written in Indonesian or English, and discussing the development or implementation of AR-based E-Modules in elementary education. From a total of 413 identified articles, 35 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed further. The findings indicate that AR-based E-Modules consistently improve learning engagement, conceptual understanding in science, and students’ critical thinking skills through interactive visualization and immersive learning experiences. Moreover, integrating AR in E-Modules supports deep learning and student-centered learning approaches. The review suggests that future development of AR-based E-Modules should emphasize interactivity, usability, and alignment with the national curriculum to maximize their potential in fostering critical thinking among elementary school students.
