Abstract

The logical consequence for a growing city is an increase in population and shrinkage of rice fields and forests which are being converted into industry and residential areas. The Integrated Team for Controlling the Conversion of Rice Land in Serang Regency noted that there had been a reduction in rice fields covering an area of 15 thousand hectares from 2019 to 2022 in the Serang Regency area. This research was carried out to answer research questions regarding the concept of legal protection for housing investors in the transition of the function of rice fields in Serang Regency and how the provisions for the conversion of protected rice fields in Serang Regency are implemented. This research is normative juridical research using a statutory approach, a conceptual approach and an analytical approach. Data collection techniques were obtained by means of library research and data analysis using descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this research are that currently there is no protection for investors regarding the legal conversion of protected rice fields. Rice fields which are then converted into residential land cannot be legally defined as ownership rights by the community because they stand on protected rice fields. Investors do not get transparent access regarding mapping of protected rice fields in Serang district, while the business licensing process has been issued and can be operated by housing investors.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the scientific literacy skills of elementary school students. In addition, differences in scientific literacy based on gender were also examined in this study. The study is quantitative and measures students' scientific literacy. Researchers investigated the literacy profile of sixth-grade students in one of the primary schools in Malang City. The target population was 107 sixth-grade students. The sampling technique was saturated, and the population was included in the sample. Data were collected using ten multiple-choice tests. The findings were analyzed by calculating the results of the validity and reliability tests, percentages, mean, and the Mann-Whitney test to calculate the differences in scientific literacy of boys and girls. The results showed that ten items were valid (sig. <0.05), and the reliability was 0.72. The results of the study showed that the less category dominated students' scientific literacy, while only 2.80% achieved excellence. Abstract

This research examines the legality of applying artificial intelligence (AI) to product innovations by research partners, produced and protected by intellectual property rights (IPR), including industrial design, trademarks, and copyrights. The role of the batik association is to produce prototypes in the form of batik industry innovations per cluster while still incorporating a touch of human art, ensuring that each cluster maintains its uniqueness according to traditional standards and does not violate IPR. This new design is copyrighted, registered as an industrial design and trademark, and then produced by partners. The issues discussed in this research are: (1) The form of legal protection given to AI-based products, and the role of partners in clusters in protecting and preserving batik. The methods used include a participatory research approach, sociological approach, and statute approach, using a mixed method that collaborates qualitative and quantitative methods. The research results show that: (1) The form of legal protection for AI-based products expected by the partners includes protection accompanied by promotion, as well as legal assistance and facilitation of legality, whether in the form of trademarks, copyrights, or industrial designs. From a legal perspective, the new motif, which contains art, can be copyrighted, commercialized under a trademark, and the innovation of batik motifs that uphold traditional standards is accommodated in AI-based innovations because the AI modeling is done based on input data of batik motifs per cluster according to their respective areas, ensuring that traditional standards are maintained. (2) The role of partners in clusters in protecting and preserving batik, through associations, facilitates and streamlines batik preservation, channels government programs and other stakeholders' assistance, as well as promotion, and preserves traditional batik standards according to local wisdom.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is linked to persistent inflammation, repetitive strain, and the accelerated aging of the lungs. The Klotho gene is an anti-aging protein that protects cells from inflammation and alveolar damage in COPD patients. At least 10 mutations in the Klotho gene and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been identified in humans. However, the influence of these polymorphisms is not fully understood in COPD patients. This article aims to determine the influence of Klotho gene polymorphisms on COPD patients. Method: This study employs a systematic review by analyzing secondary data from scientific research articles. Data search using the Google Scholar database. Done using the terms: Polymorphism, COPD, and Alpha Klotho gene. Results: Four studies were selected for systematic review. Three studies indicate that Klotho gene polymorphisms can cause alveolar destruction, accelerating emphysema occurrence. There is a relationship between Klotho gene polymorphisms and BMI but not with disease severity parameters. Conclusion: This review indicates that Klotho gene polymorphisms may accelerate emphysema development in COPD patients. There is a relationship between klotho gene polymorphisms and BMI but not with disease severity parameters.
