Abstract

Corruption is a form of crime that has a direct impact on the welfare of society. Corruption is an unlawful act carried out to enrich oneself, another person, or a corporation, which is detrimental to state finances or the country's economy. Corruption is also a crime that is included in the category of special crimes because it has different specifications from general crimes both in procedural law and material (substance), especially in the handling of evidence of special crimes whose origins must be examined so that the handling of the crime does not harm parties who are not involved. Corruption is also regulated in various regulations such as Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, Law Number 15 of 2002 concerning the Crime of Money Laundering, Law Number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission, the latest Criminal Code (Law Number 1 of 2023), and so on. The law has regulated a number of provisions aimed at strengthening and perfecting the eradication of corruption in Indonesia as well as anticipating and eradicating various increasingly sophisticated corruption modes, as well as increasing the effectiveness of law enforcement related to corruption crimes. The method used is an empirical juridical approach with direct field research studies at the South Tapanuli District Attorney's Office. Mechanisms and Procedures for Securing Evidence in Corruption Crimes according to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Corruption Crime Law. The provisions of evidence according to the Criminal Procedure Code are regulated in articles 39-46 of the Criminal Procedure Code starting from Confiscation, Storage of Confiscated Objects, Management of Confiscated Objects / evidence after having permanent legal force. Meanwhile, Law No. 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes regulates more specifically the management of evidence, especially related to assets resulting from corruption by means of Asset Confiscation (Article 18 of the Corruption Law). Confiscation of Assets suspected of originating from criminal acts of corruption, Blocking and Custody, to Execution of Decisions. The Role of the Prosecutor's Office in Securing Evidence that has been In Kracht in corruption cases. The Prosecutor's Office through the Asset Recovery and Evidence Management division has a role in managing evidence as regulated in the Regulation of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Number: PER-027/A/JA/10/2014 Concerning Guidelines for Asset Recovery. In practice, the management of evidence carried out by the Prosecutor's Office through the Asset Recovery and Evidence Management Division consists of 5, namely: Direct Sales, Indirect Sales, Determination of Use Status, Grants, and Destruction. Implementation of Evidence Securing in the Practice of Corruption Law Enforcement at the South Tapanuli District Prosecutor's Office. Abstract

The protection of labor rights is a state obligation; however, the practice of unilateral termination of employment (PHK) by companies often violates legal norms, including criminal law. This study aims to examine the regulations and forms of criminal legal protection for workers experiencing termination under Law No. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation using a normative juridical method. The results indicate that although the Job Creation Law does not explicitly detail criminal sanctions specific to termination, the criminal legal basis remains applicable by referring to Articles 153 and 185 of the Manpower Law and Article 28 of the Labor Union Law to address discriminatory terminations or violations of normative rights. Furthermore, administrative manipulation and document forgery during the termination process can be prosecuted under the Penal Code (KUHP) or other special laws. The primary obstacle to law enforcement lies in weak supervision and the prevalence of administrative settlements. The study recommends strengthening labor inspection and fostering synergy among law enforcement agencies to ensure effective and fair labor protection.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the factors that cause domestic violence against children and to analyze the role of the Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) of the Medan Police in providing legal protection for child victims. The study uses an empirical legal research method with a juridical approach. Data were obtained through interviews with officers from the Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) of the Medan Police and literature studies on relevant laws, books, and journals. The results show that domestic violence against children is caused by various interrelated factors, including economic hardship, low educational levels, patriarchal culture, psychological pressure, substance abuse, and disharmonious family relationships. The Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) of the Medan Police plays three main roles: preventive efforts through public legal education, repressive efforts through law enforcement against perpetrators, and rehabilitative efforts through psychological and social recovery for victims. However, the implementation of legal protection for child victims is not yet optimal due to limited human resources, insufficient facilities, and weak inter-agency coordination. Strengthening institutional cooperation and public legal awareness is essential to achieve effective and sustainable protection for children who are victims of domestic violence.

Abstract

This research aims to examine in depth the certainty and legal accountability for environmental damage caused by corporate activities, as well as discuss the challenges and obstacles in enforcing criminal sanctions against corporations. This research method is normative juridical with a descriptive-analytical approach to discuss existing legal problems based on laws and regulations and legal norms that apply in society. The results of this study show that the certainty and legal accountability for environmental damage caused by corporate activities in Indonesia have been regulated in Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management. Corporations as artificial persons can only carry out legal acts through the intermediary of their representatives, so that criminal sanctions in the form of imprisonment are imposed on the management or directors, while corporations as legal entities can only be subject to sanctions in the form of fines and administrative sanctions. The policy of enforcing sanctions against corporations that destroy the environment is implemented through penal and non-penal approaches. The penal approach is realized through the enforcement of criminal law based on the provisions of the Criminal Code and Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning PPLH. Meanwhile, non-penalties are carried out through the application of the principles of Good Corporate Governance in the company's internal governance, and the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

Abstract

Perkebunan Bandar Telu Village, located in Salapian Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, is an area with high administrative activity, particularly regarding requests for various types of official letters such as business certificates, poverty certificates, and domicile certificates. Currently, the request documentation process is handled manually using physical record books, which causes the collected data to remain underutilized and merely archived. This study aims to cluster citizen data based on the purpose of the certificate requests to support informed decision-making by the village administration. The method applied is data mining using the K-Means clustering algorithm, and data processing was carried out using Matlab software. The results identified three primary clusters: Cluster 1 consists of citizens aged 46–59, mainly housewives, requesting poverty certificates (192 data points); Cluster 2 includes citizens aged 17–25, primarily students, requesting marriage certificates (201 data points); and Cluster 3 consists of citizens aged 26–45, also mostly housewives, requesting business licenses (217 data points). These findings provide actionable insights that can be used to prioritize public services, design targeted policies, and improve administrative efficiency in Perkebunan Bandar Telu Village.

Abstract

Abstract

The catalytic pyrolysis of polypropylene (PP) has attracted considerable attention as a promising approach for converting plastic waste into valuable fuels; however, the development of low-cost and sustainable catalysts remains a major challenge. In this study, the catalytic pyrolysis of polypropylene was conducted to investigate the effect of nickel supported on activated carbon (Ni/AC) derived from sago waste on liquid yield and hydrocarbon selectivity. Pyrolysis experiments were performed at 500 °C using catalyst loadings of 2.5 g, 5 g, and 7.5 g, alongside a non-catalytic run for comparison. The introduction of Ni/AC significantly enhanced liquid production compared to thermal pyrolysis, with the optimum yield achieved at moderate catalyst loading. Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis confirmed that the liquid fraction was mainly composed of hydrocarbons in the gasoline (C₅–C₁₂) and diesel (C₁₃–C₂₀) ranges. Higher catalyst loading promoted secondary cracking, shifting selectivity toward gaseous products. These findings demonstrate that Ni/AC catalysts from sago waste provide an effective and sustainable approach for converting plastic waste into fuel-like hydrocarbons, underscoring their potential role in plastic waste valorization and sustainable energy development.

Abstract

Free-throw performance is a crucial skill in basketball, directly affecting scoring without defensive interference. This study systematically reviewed national and international literature (2018–2024) to examine physical, psychomotor, and psychological determinants of free-throw accuracy in youth players. Using a PRISMA-based approach and thematic synthesis, three core variables were analyzed: upper-limb explosive power, hand–eye coordination, and concentration. Findings indicate that upper-limb strength enhances elbow stability, release speed, and movement efficiency; hand–eye coordination improves visual-motor integration and shooting precision; and concentration supports motor control, emotional stability, and resistance to competitive pressure. These factors interact synergistically to enable consistent and accurate free throws. The review highlights the importance of integrated training programs combining physical conditioning, coordination drills, and mental skills practice for youth development. Results provide evidence-based guidance for coaches to design holistic interventions that optimize free-throw performance and contribute to long-term skill consistency in competitive basketball settings.
