Abstract

Background: The problem of Tuberculosis (TB) is a healt problem thathas long been faced by various countries in the world, includingIndonesia. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by infectionwith the germ Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis disease mostlyaffects the lung parenchyma (pulmonary TB). ICT-TB is a serologicaltest that is fast, simple and easy bto operate. The limited of number ofGenexpert MTB in Bima regency is an obstacle in establishing an earlytuberculosis. Objective: To determinan the sensitivity and specificity of the immunochromatography test-tuberculosis (ICT-TB) method in TB patients. Method: This study is an analytical abservational study, with apurposive sampling approach, namely research samples taken fromserum specimens for the ICT-TB method and sputum for GenexpertMTB as standart. The sensitivity and specificity for ICT-TB werecalculated manually using the Mc nemar formula in the 2 x 2 diagnostictest table. Results: The ICT- TB result showed 4 positive IgG respondents and 41negative respondents, while the Genexpert MTB result showed 6 MTBDetected and 39 MTB Not Detected. The ICT-TB sensitivity test resultfor TCM were 50% and specificity 97,44%. Conclusion: ICT-TB method has excellent specificity value. However ,the ICT-TB method examination still has shortcomings that are notfound in the Genexpert MTB method.Recommendation: Further research needs to be carried out usingsamples of tuberculosis positive patients who have not receivedtreatment.

Abstract

This study examined the use of the “Word of the Day” (WotD) strategy as a means of improving vocabulary mastery among ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Samaturu. The intervention lasted seven weeks and involved 119 students from four classes, using a classroom-based field research design. Daily vocabulary activities were integrated into lessons through interactive methods such as group work, quizzes, and simple games, while data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The findings showed that the WotD strategy helped students consistently expand their vocabulary and apply new words in meaningful contexts. It also increased participation and motivation, as interactive activities encouraged learners to engage more actively in classroom communication. Some differences in student engagement were noted, with challenges including varying levels of motivation, discipline issues, and occasional school activity disruptions. Despite these constraints, the study highlights the potential of WotD as a low-cost and sustainable approach to vocabulary instruction in rural EFL classrooms, contributing both to lexical growth and to fostering learner engagement.

Abstract

Cultural diversity within the school environment requires learning approaches that can accommodate students’ varied experiences and backgrounds. Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) is a teaching strategy that connects learning materials to students’ cultural contexts, while Understanding by Design (UbD) emphasizes planning based on deep conceptual understanding. The integration of CRT within the UbD framework is expected to enhance students’ conceptual comprehension by providing more contextual and meaningful learning experiences. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in four cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fourth-grade students at SDN 19 Cakranegara. Data were collected through conceptual understanding tests, classroom observations, and interviews with teachers and students. The results showed that the CRT-UbD approach progressively improved students’ conceptual understanding across all cycles. Students demonstrated greater ability to relate learning materials to real-life contexts, participated more actively in discussions, and showed increased learning motivation. Teachers also reported that the approach helped them design more adaptive and inclusive instruction. In conclusion, the application of CRT within the UbD model is effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding and can be implemented in culturally diverse school settings to create more relevant and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the factors that encourage students' interest in choosing the public accounting profession. The aim of this study is to identify the elements that motivate students to choose to work in society, in terms of financial rewards, personality, level of job security, ease of information, and work environment towards interest in becoming a public accountant. We hope that this research will provide a broader understanding of the reasons why students choose the public accounting profession. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods using multiple regression analysis using primary data in the form of statements given directly to respondents. Respondents were students with a total of 115 participants. The results show that interest in a career as a public accountant is not influenced by awards, level of security and ease of information, but on the contrary, personality and work environment are factors that generate interest in a career as a public accountant.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of budget literacy and financial inclusion on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Palopo City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative method to test the relationship between independent variables (budgeting literacy and financial inclusion) and the dependent variable (MSME performance). Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 99 MSME actors in Palopo City and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 26. The results of the study indicate that financial inclusion has a positive and significant effect on MSME performance, while budget literacy has a positive but insignificant effect. Simultaneously, both variables contribute 61.4% to MSME performance, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, increasing access to financial services and more comprehensive financial literacy education are needed to improve MSME performance.

Abstract

Edible film is a type of biodegradable packaging that can be an alternative to food packaging material to reduce environmental damage and maintain food product’s shelf life, quality, and safety. This research aims to determine the effect of the mechanical properties of protein-based edible film using different concentrations of sorbitol plasticizer on edible film thickness, gelation time, and film microstructure. To make edible films, the research material consists of sorbitol, whey protein, gelatin, distilled water, and silica gel. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design with three sorbitol plasticizer treatments consisting of P1:35%, P2:40%, P3:45%, and three replications. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) using the SPSS program. The research results showed that the use of sorbitol plasticizer with different concentrations gave a very significant difference (P<0.01) to P1 and P3, but P2 was not significantly different from the thickness of the edible film. The gelation time did not make a difference (P>0, 05), which is real, but adding different sorbitol to the edible film microstructure can produce varying microstructures. From the research results, the average values for edible film thickness are 0.053, 0.078, and 0.113 mm, while the gelation time produces average values of 19.33, 13.33, and 19 minutes. This research concludes that using different sorbitol concentrations provides a very significant difference in film thickness; however, unlike the gelation time, which does not make a difference, the microstructures produce varying microstructures.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of locus of control, performance, turnover intention, and organizational commitment on dysfunctional auditor behavior in public accounting firms in Bengkulu. The research method used was quantitative with a descriptive approach, and primary data was collected through questionnaires distributed to auditors in Bengkulu. The sample used was 97 respondents. Data analysis shows that locus of control has no influence on dysfunctional audits. However, organizational performance and commitment have a significant influence on dysfunctional audit behavior. Meanwhile, turnover intention has a negative and significant effect on dysfunctional audits. This finding is important for maintaining public trust in the audit profession. High auditor performance is related to low dysfunctional behavior, while high turnover intention is not related to dysfunctional behavior that impacts audit quality. Organizational commitment also plays an important role in reducing dysfunctional auditor behavior. This research contributes to the understanding and handling of problems related to dysfunctional behavior in the audit profession.
