Abstract

Problems often faced by teachers of mathematics, namely the validity and reliability of measuring instruments assessment of performance, preparation of test performance is still very limited knowledge and understanding of teachers, the assessment results are often influenced by the objectivity of the teacher as a rater because in doing the assessment is done without the involvement of other teachers as collaborator. This study aims to examine the level of validity, reliability, and the practicality of authentic assessment instruments for performance in linear mathematics learning programs. The instrument is useful for teachers to innovate in the world of education and for students as study material to determine the level of understanding of students' abilities. This research method uses research and development techniques. The sample was used for a study of 34 students for small-scale tests and 44 students for large-scale tests. The results showed that the instrument was declared to be valid in the contents of 0.83. ICC reliability estimation between assessors 0.730. The scale test shows the value of KMO 0.548 and Barteletts sig test. 0,000. But there is one item that has an MSA value <0.5. Large scale test shows the value of KMO 0,532 and Bartlett's Test sig. 0,000. All items obtained MSA value> 0.5. The instrument forms 2 components. The value of Eigenvalues ​​component 1 is 2, 007 and component 2 is 1.183. The estimated reliability of the instrument on a small scale test was 0.674 and a large scale of 0.661. Practical test gets a score of 155. The conclusion of this study is that the instrument developed has proven to be valid, reliable and practical. Very practical proven instruments based on teacher ratings. The suggestion of this research is for teachers to use this instrument in learning linear mathematics programs to produce easy and precise measurements.

Abstract

The preliminary study found that the teacher did not yet have a practical instrument to assess students' critical thinking skills in mathematics. This study aims to develop assessment guidelines for students' critical thinking skills in practical mathematics subjects. The development model refers to the theory of Borg and Gall with 9 steps of development. Small-scale test subjects were conducted on 21 students and a large-scale test was conducted on 90 grade X students of MIPA SMA N 1 Pringgasela. The content validity in this study used the Aiken's V formula and the Ebel formula to look for reliability. Whereas the construct validation with the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) model used the AMOS 24 application. The results showed that: (1) the validity of the contents of the instrument, from the aspects of construction, language, and material got the score > 0.3, which means that the instrument was stated to be very valid in content, and very reliable in values > 0.5; (2) contract validity, loading factor per item > 0.3 means that the instrument was valid in contract, the RMSEA value = 0.023 < 0.06, and the GFI value = 0.932 > 0.9, which means that the model developed was very suitable; (3) validation of the items showed that items 5 and 11 were accepted with a slight revision because d < 0.4 and the remaining 10 items were received without revision with d > 0.4, for Alpha Crombach values = 0, 783> 0.5 (very reliable instruments ); (4) practicality test used all math teachers (5 teachers), with an average score of 85.6 means that the instrument was very practical. In conclusion, the instruments developed were very valid, very reliable and very practical. The benefits of the development results were, there were guidelines in carrying out assessment of students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The development of creative thinking skills is one focus in learning mathematics. The ability to think creatively is needed in solving mathematical problems including the steps in the formulation, interpretation, and resolution of models or problem solving. This study aims to develop an instrument of assessment of creative thinking skills in mathematics in junior high school subjects. Research using the Borg & Gall development method. Data collection through the provision of test descriptions. The test instruments were validated by 7 experts who were analyzed using the Aiken'V formula and the field test of creative thinking ability was analyzed using the construct validity of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), reliability was analyzed using Alpha Cronbach. The results of the validation from the experts show validity ≥ 0.75 Aiken’s table that all items are valid, Test the validity of the items from the 4 item test items tested, all 4 item description items are valid with a coefficient> 0.3, and the value of the reliability coefficient > 0.6, construct validity value of KMO of 0.831 with a significance of 0,000 for 4 items that make up 4 factors according to the dimensions of aspects of creative thinking namely fluency, flexibility, authenticity and detail. The profile of mathematical creative thinking abilities in small and large scale trials is quite creative. The final product of the research is a valid, reliable and practical mathematical creative thinking appraisal instrument. The assessment of mathematical creative thinking can be used by the teacher to get information about how the creative thinking abilities possessed by each of the eighth grade students of Junior High School.

Abstract

The teachers are still lack found practice tests that have characteristics such as the Trend in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) in Junior High School mathematics textbooks. This study aims to develop a TIMSS test instrument model that refers to the cognitive domain and the content domain for class VIII students. The respondents of this study were 5 people in the expert test, 10 people in the one to one test and 53 people in the small-scale test. This research is development research conducted following the development model of Borg & Gall. This step is only taken until the ninth step with a few modifications. Modifications are made by adding a one to one test copy from Tessmer. In content validity, as many as 5 items out of 35 items developed are not yet valid with a coefficient range of 0.6-0.79. Items were then revised to be tested in the small-scale test stage. One to one test results showed the instrument readability level was 81%. The validity test of the criteria shows a coefficient of 0.84 which means that the product developed is comparable to the original product. Interrater reliability was 0.661 and Alpha Chronbach reliability testing was a small scale at 0.854. The results showed that the instrument developed was valid in terms of content and criteria as well as reliable for use. The benefit of this research is that the developed test instrument can be used as a tool to measure the mathematics abilities of eighth-grade students.

Abstract

The background of this study is about the availibility of the test assessment instrument to measure the critical thinking ability of fifth grade elementary school students which is limitted. Therefore, it needs to be developed. This development research used the Borg & Gall development method. The purpose of this study was to develop an assessment instrument in essay. The assessment instrument was validated by 5 Experts Judgment by using the Aiken'V formula. The results of trials using the construct validity of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), interater reliability used Two Ways Anova proved by the Ebel formula and internal consistent reliability with the Alpha Cronbach formula. The result of expert judgment validation showed that ≥0.8 which mean that 10 items were in valid category, construct validity results from large-scale test analysis by using LISREL 8.8 namely Confirmatory Factor fulfilled the testing of goodness of fit GFI value 0,93, CFI=0,97 and NFI=0,91. The three assessment criteria have value > 0,90. It can be concluded that the construct validity is met. The construct validity is also evidenced by the loading factor of 10 items. All of which have a price of > 0,3. The interrater reliability assessment instruments based on Expert Judgment coefficient value was 0,62. The expert agreement indicated that the rating given by each rater is reliable or consistent between one another and internal consistency of small scale test results of coefficient value of alpha 0,861, large scale 0.813. Practicality of assessment instruments based on expert judgment had mean 37.2 and included in practical category. The profile of critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students category “Medium”. The Conclusions was the assessment instruments in critical thinking skills of fifth grade students on thematic learning were tested in validity, reliability and suitable to be used.

Abstract

This paper is a part of research and development that develops Higher Order Thinking Skill test assessment in mathematics learning in seventh grade. The developed test assessment is in the form of essay questions, consisting of 10 question items. In a research and development study, one of the required steps before conducting a trial run test is an expert study. The expert study is carried out to find out the validity and reliability of a developed instrument based on experts' judgment. The developed test assessment in this research is based on three experts' judgments. They are a mathematician, an evaluation expert, and a practitioner (mathematics teacher). Then, the scores taken from the expert study were then analyzed by using the Aiken formula. Meanwhile, the reliability was analyzed by using Ebel. The validity score of 10 question items shows each of them has a validity score toward three aspects. The aspects are content, construct, and language. The aspects consist of 14 principles. Meanwhile, the reliability test has a score . Thus, the developed test assessment, based on the expert study, is valid and reliable.

Abstract

AbstractThis The purpose of this research was to analyze the influence of the role playing learning models in Indonesia language lesson in thematic learning on student learning outcomes in fourth grade of Elementary School 31 West Pontianak. The research method used was an Experiment, a form ofQuasi Experimental type of NonEquivalent Control Group Design. The techniques used in data collection are measurements with research instruments in the form of multiplechoice test to measure cognitive domain, affective domain using attitude assessment sheets, and psychomotor domain using psychomotor assessment sheets. The sampling technique used Jenuh Sampling.The results of data analysis are, cognitive domain the average score of the learning outcomes experiment class 77,80 and the control class is 71,00. After the t-test is obtained tcount (3,682)> ttable(2,0042) then Ha is accepted. Affective domain the average score of the learning outcomes experiment class 75,46 and the control class is 75,33. After the t-test is obtained tcount (0,270) < ttable(2,0042) then Ho is accepted. Psychomotordomain the average score of the learning outcomes experiment class 75,46 and the control class is 73,30. After the t-test is obtained tcount (3,016) > ttable(2,0042) then Ha is accepted. From the calculation of the effect size obtained at 0.41 (medium criteria). This means that the role playing learning models has a influence on student learning outcomes in Indonesia language lesson in thematic learning in the fourth grade of Elementary School 31 West Pontianak.Keywords: Effect, Role Playing Models, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research was to investigate the effect of students teams-achievement divisions on the students' learning achievement in the thematic lesson to Year-4 students of Elementry School 03 Pontianak Selatan. The researcher conducted the Pre-Experimental Research with pre-test and post-test one group design. The population of this research was all of Year-4 students of Elementry School 03 Pontianak Selatan, and the researcher took the sample by using stratified sampling, based on the students school report card in Academic Year 2017/2018. The sample of this research consist of 34 students in class IV A. The researcher collected the data by using the measurement technique in a multiple choice form. According to the research findings, pre-test (62.74) and post-test (73.56), tcount (7.317) and ttable (α = 0.05 and dk = 34 - 1 = 33) that means 2.034, there were tcount > ttable significantly different and Ha was accepted. The effect size was categorized as medium effect since the ES value was 0.7. In conclusions, student teams-achievement divisions is significant and effective for students' learning achievement in the thematic lesson to Year-4 students of Elementry School 03 Pontianak Selatan.  Keywords: Effective, Students Teams-Achievement Divisions, Students’ Learning                   Achievemenet In The Thematic Lesson.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to develop a suitable holographic-based learning media for thematic learning in elementary schools. The approach used in this study is the research & development (R&D) proposed by Borg and Gall. Of the ten steps of the study, only nine steps were taken for this research was limited to testing the product's feasibility. Sources of data in this study came from teachers, media experts, material experts, and students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instruments used were the interview and questionnaire guidelines. The product validation by media experts occurred in two stages, obtaining an average score of 3.57 with excellent criteria. Validation by material experts passed in three stages, acquiring an average score of 4.00 with excellent criteria. The field trials were occurred in three stages, with the results of operational field trials with an average score of 3.46 with very good criteria. Based on these criteria, the holographic-based learning media product is feasible as a thematic learning media theme 8 subthemes 1 in class V SD Negeri 18 Sungai Kakap. Abstract

This research aims to describe learners' mathematical reasoning skills based on their personality types on the 9E learning cycle with kid-friendly rubrics. This research is mixed-method with a sequential explanatory design. The data collection of mathematical reasoning skills was done by using a test on four indicators. On the other hand, the data of personality types were taken by using KTS II inventory, documentation, and interview. The research subjects consisted of seventh graders of Private JHS Gema Buwana in 2020/2021. The findings showed that the learners' mathematics reasoning skills with guardian type could explain the model, fact, property, correlation, and pattern. These learners could use the correlation pattern to analyze the situation, create an analogy, and generalize. The artisan type could explain the model, fact, property, correlation, and pattern. They could create assumptions and evidence. The rational type could create a logical conclusion by explaining the model, fact, property, correlation, and pattern. They could also create assumptions and evidence, use the correlation pattern to analyze the situation, create an analogy, or generalize. On the other hand, the idealist type could explain the model, fact, property, correlation, and pattern. They could also make assumptions and evidence.
