Abstract

Problem solving is important for learning physics at any level which involves the process of analysing, interpreting, reasoning, predicting, evaluating and reflecting. However, researches about problem-solving strategies or techniques based on students? personality have not been widely practiced. This strategy is important to be studied based on thoughts, characters and actions of students. Therefore, the aims of the research are to connect students problem solving of physics based on their personality and identify students problem solving pattern based on their personality according to The Four Temperament Theory of Keirsey (1998). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with the type of Investigation of Lived Experience that explores inner experiences (Gall et al, 2003). Subjects in this study are 12th grade students of science class program of MAN 1 Banyumas which is determined by stratified sampling approach. They were divided into homogeneous groups. The grouping is based on Keirsey's four personality types: Idealist, Artisan, Guardian and Rational. Each personality type, selected nine students as research subjects are determined using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the strategy of physics problem solving of Idealist type was conceptual problem solving, Artisan type used intuitive-analogic for solving the problem, Guardian type used intuitive for solving the problem, and Rational type used analogic strategy for solving the problem.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop teaching materials based on scientific literacy with categories of scientific literacy that isbalanced, feasible to use, easy to understand, and improve students? cognitive ability. The study used pre-test and post-test control group design. Based on the results of the research, the ratio of the content of scientific literacy in the teaching materials developed with the ratio of 40%: 20%: 20%: 20%. Teaching materials are considered feasible to use with an average score of 91.67% eligibility score and legibility with an average score of 89.47%. The improvement of scientific literacy ability of students using scientific-based literacy materials was 0,51 while the students who used teaching materials circulating in school was 0,26. In the experimental class had increased of cognitive learning outcomes and the average of affective and psychomotor learning outcomes were higher than control class. This shows the literacy-based materials science material symptom of Global Warmingcould improve the ability of scientific literacy.

Abstract

The existence of misconceptions could affect students? problem solving ability in physics subject. The source of misconceptions could be derived from the text books that used by the students, from the students itself, as well as from the teachers. One of the learning models that might reduce the misconceptions on the topic of light was worksheets-assisted by problem based learning model. The purpose of this study was to identify the misconceptions experienced by the students of SMP IT BinaAmal on the topic of light, to analize misconceptions on the topic of light, to identify the descriptions of the students? improvement on the concept of light, and to identify the worksheets-assisted problem based learning could develop the students? scientific attitudes. The research method used mixed methods research using sequential explanatory design with pre-test and post-test Control Group Design. The sample of this research was the IX grade students of Hafshoh bint Abu Bakar class, and the IX grade students of Zaenab bint Jahsyi at SMP IT BinaAmal Semarang. The instruments that used in this study were questions and observation sheets. Based on the calculation of problem-solving test, in the experimental class obtained a gain factor of 0.553 with medium criteria, while the control class produces a gain factor of 0.249 with low criteria. The initial t-test shows thitung (-1.55) <t table (1.68) that the experimental class is no better than the control class. The final t test shows thitung (2,481)> t table (1.68) that the experimental class is better than the control class after the LKS-assisted PBL learning model is used. A very strong relationship between conceptual mastery and the reduction of misconceptions. LKS-assisted PBL learning influenced the results of the decrease in student misconceptions from 55.1% to 19.5% in the experimental class and a decrease in misconception from 59.4% to 31.9% in the control class. Based on the results of cognitive tests, obtained a qualitative data analysis, misconception that occurred in SMP IT Bina Amal on the concept of light, among others: regular reflections and diffuse; shadow formation, shadow space and shadow properties, light propagation; light sources and human processes can see things; and the law of refraction. Based on the result of the research, it is found that the LKS-based problem-based learning model is effective to reduce light misconception.

Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa pada materi Inti Atom dan Radioaktivitas yang diperoleh dengan teknik wawancara masih cukup rendah, yaitu sebesar 45,5%. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa setelah dilaksanakan pembelajaran model Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) dengan metode diskusi dan eksperimen. Sampel adalah mahasiswa peserta matakuliah Fisika Dasar 2 rombel 2 tahun 2016 Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes). Diskusi meliputi diskusi kelompok dan diskusi kelas. Eksperimen yang dilakukan menggunakan detektor geiger muller meliputi membuat kurva plateau, menentukan karakteristik cacah latar dan menentukan koefisien serapan bahan. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan teknik tes. Setelah pembelajaran diperoleh peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif dalam kriteria sedang dengan nilai gain sebesar 0,50. Hasil uji t diperoleh thitung sebesar -1,402, menunjukkan adanya pengaruh model DLPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa. Model DLPS dengan metode diskusi dan eksperimen dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif mahasiswa Fisika Dasar 2 rombel 2 tahun 2016 Unnes. Abstract ___________________________________________________________________ Cognitive learning result of university students in Nuclear Physics and Radioactivity which found by interview technique are low, around of 45.5%. The study aims to increase cognitive learning result of students after learning by DLPS model with discussion and experiment method. Sample is university students who attended at second course of Fundamental Physics 2 even semester 2016 Unnes. Discussion was included group discussion and class discussion. Experiment was using geiger muller detector to create plateau curve, determine background statistic and determine material absorption coefficient. The data was collected by test. After learning process, cognitive learning result was increased 0,50 in the moderate criteria. Result of t test was found thitung -1,402 and showed that DLPS model influence the cognitive learning result of university student. DLPS model with discussion and experiment method was increased the cognitive learning result of university students who attended at second course of Fundamental Physics 2 even semester 2016.

Abstract

Every child has a problem when they are in period of growth and development. This is a form of challenge for children to learn about how to solve problems with confidence and endurance of these problems.  In fact, children may not be able to make planning and training to face the difficulties which are considered as difficult problem, heavy, complicated, severe, and complex problem. There­ fore, these children need support from other parties, like parents, friends, teachers, counselors, and the environment. This paper will discuss the role and strategy of counselors in resolving the problems of children at primary school level.

Abstract

Guru dituntut untuk mengembangkan keprofesiannya, baik dalam keahlina di bidangnnya ataupun melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan penulisan karya ilmiah.  Kenyataannya masih banyak guru yang mengalami kendala dalam melakukan PTK dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Hal ini tentunya berdampak pada kenaikan pangkat. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, salah satunya program kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) bagi guru melalui MGMP. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah menyelenggarakan pelatihan bagi guru melalui kegiatan MGMP dengan model Action Learning berbasis fasilitasi. Tujuan khususnya adalah membantu guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan melakukan PTK dan menulis karya ilmiah. Metode pemecahan masalah mitra, dengan  menyelenggarakan pelatihan terprogram. Desain metode/model pemecahannya Action Learning berbasis fasilitasi, dengan desain workshop full-day introductory. Sebelum pelaksanaan pelatihan, dilakukan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan kepala sekolah dan ketua MGMP. Hasil FGD digunakan untuk mendesain skenario pelatihan untuk setiap kegiatan, dan materi pelatihan.  Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam melaksanakan PTK dan penulisan karya ilmiah telah meningkat. Hal ini tampak dari jumlah artikel yang dapat ditulis oleh guru peserta PKM. Sebanyak 17 artikel dan 20 proposal PTK diperoleh dari kegiatan PKM ini.Teachers are required to develop their professionalism, both in skills in their fields or conducting classroom action research (CAR) and writing scientific papers. In fact, there are still many teachers who experience problems in conducting CAR and writing scientific papers. This of course has an impact on promotion. Therefore it is necessary to carry out community service activities, one of which is the community partnership program (PKM) for teachers through MGMP. The purpose of this PKM activity is to provide training for teachers through MGMP activities with a facilitation-based Action Learning model. Its specific purpose is to help teachers improve their ability to do CAR and write scientific papers. Partner problem solving method, by conducting programmed training. The design of the solution method / model of facilitation-based Action Learning, with a full-day introductory workshop design. Prior to the implementation of the training, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted with the school principal and the head of the MGMP. The results of the FGDs were used to design training scenarios for each activity, and training materials. PKM results show that the ability of teachers to carry out CAR and writing scientific papers has increased. This can be seen from the number of articles that can be written by PKM participating teachers. A total of 17 articles and 20 PTK proposals were obtained from this PKM activity

Abstract

This research aims to identify level of student comprehension on activities of group guidance service in SMAN 2 Banguntapan. This research is categorized into descriptive quantitative research design. This research is executed on 98 students who are then taken as the research sample, particularly who have joined the activities of group guidance service. Moreover, the research instrument is a closed questionnaire that has been through validity test in formula of product moment and reliability in formula of alpha. Next, the method of data analysis in this research exerts descriptive analysis. Due to the research findings, it is indicated that the level of student comprehension to the activities of group guidance service in low category is 15 students (15%), mediate category is 67 students (69%), and high category is 16 students (16%). Regarding to this assessment result, it is required to optimize the activities of group guidance service in order to achieve the student development, widen knowledge and information, and prevent problems that might happen in the future

Abstract

This research aims to know the characteristics of instructional materials physics based I-SETS (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) complimented of local wisdom and character values and development of students character after using of instructional materials physics. The research methods used are Research and Development with 4D models according to Thiagarajan. The results of this research showed that instructional materials physics have a characteristic of local wisdom and character values, based I-SETS, good of used with a feasibility percentage of 92.74% and are easily understood with a percentage rate of 95% and are practically used with a practicality value of 82%. The development of religious character, curiosity, environmental care and social care students showed an medium increased. It can be concluded that instructional materials physics based I-SETS (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) complimented of local wisdom and character values the are very feasible, easy to understand and practical to use in the learning process and can develop the character in the students.

Abstract

Teaching material is a learning resource that can help teachers to teach students in the classroom. Teaching materials used in several schools still use black and white images. The magazine has a variety of text views along with images combined with attractive colors. The materials contained in the teaching material also still emphasizes the description of the material rather than the application and has not linked the Islamic values listed in KI-1 in the 2013 curriculum. I-SETS-based learning approach (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) is a contextual approach that links elements of Islam, science, environment, technology, and society. Magazine-based physics teaching material also contain a charge of character values proclaimed by the government. The purpose of this research are to compile a magazine-based physics teaching material, to determine the feasibility, readability, and practicality, as well as character development. The method used in this research is Research and Development. The results showed that magazine-based physics teaching material were compiled using several characteristics, the results of the feasibility test in terms of aspects of content, presentation, language, and graphics of teaching material were very feasible to use. Readability test results show that the teaching material is easy to read. The practicality test results show that teaching material were practical used by students. The development of religious character, discipline, responsibility, and communicative increased after using magazine-based physics teaching material.

Abstract

Learning in the 21st century needs to accommodate e-learning without having to leave face to face in order to keep it interesting and effective. The innovation that can be done is through the implementation of blended learning to combine the two. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, students learn from home so online learning is a must. The purpose of this study is to analyze students' cognitive learning outcomes through the implementation of blended learning in Science in the material on temperature and its changes in Junior High School. This experimental research used a pretest-posttest control group design which contained an experimental class (blended learning) and a control class (online learning only). The sample of this research is the 7th grade students at SMPIT Harapan Bunda Semarang. Collecting data in this study used test methods in the form of pretest and posttest. For data analysis used analysis of learning outcomes completeness, N-gain test and t-test. Based on data analysis, it was found that the implementation of blended learning in Junior high school in science learning was effective enough to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes compared to face-to-face online learning only. This is indicated by the percentage of student learning completeness in the experimental class of 79.66%, while in the control class it is 68.33%. From the results of the N-gain test and t-test it was also found that the experimental class had a higher increase of 0.50, while the control class was 0.44.
