Abstract

Turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) is a traditional Indonesian plant that has many benefits. Curcuminoids are turmeric compounds known to have effects as immunomodulators and have been proven in several in vivo tests. Immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclophosphamide are widely given to improve clinical symptoms in autoimmune patients and cancer treatment which can cause susceptibility to infection. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the immunostimulating effect of curcuminoid extract from turmeric rhizome on cyclophosphamide-induced white rats. Proof of the immunostimulating effect of curcuminoid extracts was by testing the total leukocytes and leukocytesdifferential. The test results showed that curcuminoid extracts of 1 mL, 0.5 mL, and 0.25 mL increased total leukocytes and leukocyte differential (lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, basophils, eosinophils) with a significant difference (p<0.05) to the Na group CMC 0.5% as a negative control. Therefore, curcuminoid extract had the potential to have an effect as an immunostimulant. Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to address the financial management challenges faced by grocery stores in Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung, due to business competition and limited financial literacy. It focuses on developing an Excel-based financial reporting application that is user-friendly for store owners without accounting backgrounds. The study also includes training and assistance to enable independent and sustainable usage. Methodology: From a population of 278 grocery stores, 74 were selected using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. One store was chosen for a case study. A mixed-method approach was used, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques such as documentation, questionnaires, interviews, observation, and focus group discussions. The application features automated modules for journals, ledgers, financial statements, and inventory reports. Results: All respondents (100%) still used manual bookkeeping, citing limited technological skills, fear of errors, and difficulty in profit tracking. The Excel-based application simplified transaction recording and report generation, increased accuracy, and enhanced financial insight. Training and mentoring significantly improved users’ ability to operate the system independently. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that a simple, Excel-based financial reporting application can improve financial management in traditional grocery stores. It presents a scalable, low-cost model for enhancing financial literacy and operational efficiency among MSMEs in underserved areas. Limitations: This research was limited to a single grocery store and has not been tested on other types of MSMEs. Contributions: The study offers a practical solution for small business financial management and supports the digital literacy of MSME owners.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of audit fees, independence, and competence on audit quality in KAP Surabaya and Malang. Data was collected using a saturated sampling approach, wherein questionnaires were distributed to gather responses. The response rate for the study was 78%, with a total of 39 completed questionnaires out of the 50 distributed. The collected data was analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS Version 25. The findings indicate significant results. Firstly, higher audit fees positively impacted audit quality, suggesting that auditors receiving higher fees devote more time and resources to conducting thorough audits, leading to better quality outcomes. Secondly, independence had a positive and significant effect on audit quality, implying that auditors maintaining a higher level of independence demonstrate professional skepticism, objectivity, and impartiality, resulting in higher-quality audits. Thirdly, competence positively influences audit quality, indicating that auditors with more excellent technical knowledge, experience, and professional skills perform more accurate and reliable audits, thereby enhancing audit quality. These findings emphasize the importance of adequate audit fees, promoting independence, and enhancing auditor competence to ensure high-quality audits. Audit firms and regulators should consider these factors when formulating audit policies and procedures. This study provides valuable insights into the relationship between audit fees, independence, competence, and quality. By understanding these factors, stakeholders can strive to improve audit practices and standards, ultimately leading to more effective and reliable auditing processes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Operating Profit Margin, Return on Equity, Return on Assets, Price Earnings Ratio, and inflation on stock prices of energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020–2024 period. A quantitative approach was employed using secondary data obtained from corporate financial reports, with samples selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using SPSS. The results indicate that Operating Profit Margin, Return on Equity, and inflation do not affect stock prices, while Return on Assets and the Price Earnings Ratio show significant effects. These findings suggest that companies should improve asset management efficiency to strengthen ROA and pay close attention to PER as a key valuation indicator. Additionally, the government is encouraged to maintain economic stability and support operational efficiency through appropriate policies. Future research is recommended to expand the sample size, extend the observation period, and incorporate additional macroeconomic variables to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing stock prices.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve production management quality and enhance the effectiveness of digital marketing for Payum Iwag, a micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) producing natural cosmetics based on coconut oil in South Papua. The program was implemented through participatory training and mentoring approaches. Program evaluation was conducted by directly involving the partner through interviews, pre- and post-test questionnaires, and observations of marketplace account performance. The results indicate significant improvements in management efficiency, production organization, as well as enhanced professional branding and expanded digital market reach. This implementation not only strengthened the competitiveness of Payum Iwag but also contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in terms of gender equality, decent work, and industry innovation based on local wisdom. The outcomes of this program are expected to serve as a replicable model for the development of MSMEs utilizing local resources in the South Papua region.

Abstract

Tapioca starch industry wastewater contains high concentrations of organic matter, offering potential for renewable energy generation via biogas production. This study evaluates the effects of hydraulic retention time (HRT) variation and Lampung natural zeolite as an immobilization medium on biogas production in an anaerobic reactor. Two reactor configurations were compared: one with zeolite as the microbial immobilization medium and a control reactor without any immobilization media. Zeolite improved the sCOD degradation efficiency up to 93% compared to the non-immobilized reactor. VFA conversion to methane remained more stable with zeolite, producing up to 520 mL of biogas at a 10-day HRT, with an average biogas yield of 61.97 mL/g dry substrate, much higher than 4.15 mL/g in the non-immobilized reactor. This research confirms the effectiveness of Lampung natural zeolite for enhancing microbial retention, accelerating methanogenesis, and improving overall anaerobic reactor performance. These results have substantial implications for developing efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly treatment technologies for tapioca starch wastewater, offering simultaneous solutions for pollution control and renewable energy generation.
