Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keinginan seorang musafir muslim yang berkelana ke negeri Amerika untuk mengungkap bagaimana gambaran Amerika sebagai Negara baru tapi sudah maju. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data primer tulisan-tulisan dalam novel karya Muhammad Labib Al-Batnuni. Adapun teknik pengumpulan datanya dengan cara menyimak, membaca, memahami, mengorganisir, dan menginterpretasikan data berdasarkan konteksnya. Untuk teknik analisanya menggunakan teori milik Miles dan Huberman yang menyajikan 3 langkah; pertama, reduksi data, kedua penyajian data, dan ketiga penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perepresentasian liyan oleh Muhammad Labib menunjukkan bahwa penggambaran novel menempatkan narator sebagai pelancong yang secara aktif bersikap sehingga menentukan jalan cerita dalam perjalanannya.

Abstract

One of the strategies that has succeeded in improving students' language skills, carried out by STIBA Ar-Rayah Sukabumi Indonesia, is the Arabic reinforcement program for new students who find it difficult to learn Arabic. This study aims to describe the strategy of the Arabic Reinforcement program and its impact on improving the language skills of new students who start learning Arabic. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research of the Arabic Reinforcement program strategy for new students of STIBA Ar-Raya. Data was collected through observations, interviews, document studies, and questionnaires distributed to students. Data is analyzed simultaneously, starting from data collection, condensation, presentation, and concluding. The results of this study are: (1) The Arabic Reinforcement strategy is a type of student activity that varies from repeating the material taught in class, providing language materials, and providing additional materials, all of which are adjusted to the needs of students. (2) The Arabic Reinforcement strategy shall be implemented outside of lecture hours, on effective days or weekends, in the afternoon or evening, under the supervision of the Head of the Language Preparation Department, for fifty minutes after agreement with the student. (3) The Arabic Reinforcement strategy improves students' four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The conclusion of this study shows that additional academic activities contribute to increasing students' confidence in the use of Arabic so that such programs can be implemented in other Arabic language teaching institutions.

Abstract

Creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere is very necessary in this era, especially in learning Arabic in order to increase students' motivation and learning outcomes. Researchers used the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model as the right solution to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and critical thinking. This study aims to determine the effect of Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model to improve motivation and learning outcomes of Arabic language. Researchers used the Quasi Experiment method with pretest-posttest group design. The sample in this study consisted of 52 students who were divided into two classes, namely class A as an experimental class consisting of 26 students and class B as a control class of 26 students. The results of this study indicate an increase in learning motivation and student learning outcomes in Arabic language learning. This is evidenced by the hypothesis test where the sig value is 0.000 <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so there is an effect of the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model to increase student motivation and learning outcomes in Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Dictionaries plays a significant role as the repository of language, preserving the culture and civilization of peoples through examples and evidence within it. It proves to be an effective tool for learning the Arabic language, especially for non-native speakers. This research Dictionaries come in various forms. They can be categorized based on the number of languages involved: monolingual and bilingual or multilingual. One prominent monolingual Arabic dictionary is the "Al-Wasith Dictionary" issued by Academy of the Arabic Language in Cairo. This research aims to critically study this dictionary, including an introduction to Academy of the Arabic Language, its achievements, and the methodology of compiling the dictionary. Additionally, this research seeks to analyze the advantages and disadvantages encountered by Arabic language learners during their use of this dictionary, ultimately proposing suggestions or remedies to enhance and improve it.

Abstract

مستخلص البحث: عملية تعليم مهارة القراءة في مدرسة نهضة العلماء المتوسطة الإسلامية فاكس مالانج هناك العديد من المشاكل في التعليم. من بينها قلة المفردات التي يتقنها الطلاب بحيث يجدون صعوبة في مهارة قراءة. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، يشعر الطلاب بالملل والنعاس وقيمة الطلاب المتوسط منخفضة يشعرون بالصعوبة لفهم المقروء. لذلك ، أجرى الباحثة هذا البحث بتطبيق تقنية القراءة والتكوين التعاونية المتكاملة لتحسين مهارة القراءة لدى الطلاب .في هذا البحث ، استخدم الباحثة تطبيق تقنيات القراءة والتكوين التعاونية لتحسين قدرات الطلاب في مهارة القراءة فيمدرسة نهضة العلماء المتوسطة الإسلامية في باكس مالانج. اما المشكلة في هذه البحث هي: (1) كيف تعليم مهارة القراءة بأسلوب التعليم التعاوني التكاملي لدى طلاب مدرسة نهضة العلماء المتوسطة الإسلامية في فاكس مالانج؟ (2) ما العوامل الداعمة والعائقة باستخدام أسلوب التعليم التعاوني التكاملي لترقية مهارة القراءة لدى طلاب مدرسة نهضة العلماء المتوسطة الإسلامية في فاكس مالانج ؟ (3) ما مدى فعالية استخدام أسلوب التعليم التعاوني التكاملي لترقية مهارة القراءة لدى طلاب مدرسة نهضة العلماء المتوسطة الإسلامية في فاكس مالانج؟. استخدام الباحث الفصل التجريبي ودرجة التحكم المكونة من مجموعتين ، وهما الاختبار قبل وبعد الاختبار. المنهج المستخدم هو منهج كمي. الأدوات المستخدمة هي: المقابلة والملاحظة والاختبار.النتائج باستخدام اختبار الإحصائي تظهر نتائج الاختبار أن نتائجt-hitung هي 46,4 وأكبر من t-table1٪= 724,2 وأكبر منt-table 5٪.= 03,2. إذن ، فإن فرضية البحث مقبولة ، والنتيجة هي أن مقبول وأن تطبيق تقنية القراءة والتكوين التعاونية المتكاملة يمكن أن يكون فعالا. الكلمة المفتاحية: أسلوب التعليم التعاوني التكاملي، الكفاءة اللغوية، مهارة القراءة، اللغة العربية Abstract : In the process of learning to teach reading skills in MTs NU Pakis Malang there are several problems in learning. Among them is the lack of vocabulary mastered by students so that they have difficulty reading Arabic texts. In addition, students also feel bored and become passive students. Therefore, researchers carried out research by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition technique to improve students' reading skills. The formulation of the problem in this study are: (1) How the Application of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition techniques to improve reading skills of students in NU MTs Pakis?. (2) What are the supporting and obstacle factors for using the integrative cooperative education method to improve the reading skill of the students in NU MTs Pakis?. (3) How is the effectiveness of the application of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition techniques to improve reading skills of students in NU MTs Pakis. The researcher used the experimental class and the control class consisting of two groups, namely, pre test and post test. The approach used is a quantitative approach. The instruments used are: interviews, observations, and test. How to calculate the results using the t-test. The test results show that the results of t-count are 4,46 and greater than t-table 1% = 2,724 and greater than t-table 5% = 2,03. So the research hypothesis is accepted, the result is that is accepted and the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition technique can be said to be effective. Keyword: CIRC, Language Competence, Reading Skill, Arabic Language Abstrak : Dalam proses pembelajaran mengajar keterampilan membaca di MTs NU Pakis Malang terdapat beberapa permasalahan dalam pembelajaran. Diantaranya adalah kurangnya penguasaan kosakata siswa sehingga mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca teks bahasa Arab. Selain itu siswa juga merasa bosan dan menjadi siswa yang pasif. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan menerapkan teknik Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: (1) Bagaimana Penerapan Teknik Cooperative Integrated Reading dan Composition untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa MTs NU Pakis?. (2) Apa saja faktor pendukung dan penghambat penggunaan metode pendidikan kooperatif integratif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa MTs NU Pakis?. (3) Bagaimana efektivitas penerapan teknik Cooperative Integrated Reading dan Composition untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa MTs NU Pakis. Peneliti menggunakan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu pre test dan post test. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah: wawancara, observasi, dan tes. Cara menghitung hasilnya menggunakan uji-t. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan hasil t-hitung sebesar 4,46 lebih besar dari t-tabel 1% = 2,724 dan lebih besar dari t-tabel 5% = 2,03. Maka hipotesis penelitian diterima, hasilnya diterima dan penerapan teknik Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition dapat dikatakan efektif. Abstract

In AI in Foreign Language Learning and Teaching: Theory and Practice, Marcel Danesi underscores the ramifications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including the use of tools like ChatGPT, on Foreign Language Teaching (FLT) and its critical components: language acquisition and teaching. Danesi covers several aspects of FLT to speak, write and assess, voicing their greatest concerns on the impact of AI. Danesi provides a balanced view, considering both the advantages and challenges of dependence on AI in language education. He articulates important ethical arguments on the impact of AI in education, particularly its failure to address students’ emotional and contextual concerns, while highlighting the gap human instructors fill. In addition, the book provides synthesis of the frameworks on the use AI technologies and pedagogical tools to improve FLT while maintaining the human dimension of teaching.

Abstract

Purpose- The purpose of this study is to find the location of errors in students' Arabic speaking skills and then overcome these errors with the error analysis method, and this research focuses more specifically on showing the analysis of verbal errors. Design/Methodology/Approach- The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation at the Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid Probolinggo. This study used a sample of 7th grade students with a total of 30 students. Findings— During the process of learning Arabic, especially speaking Arabic skills, students are not able to distinguish and pronounce the sounds of Arabic letters properly and correctly. This causes phonemic errors that occur in the students of the Nurul Jadid Probolinggo Islamic Boarding School during the Arabic learning process. There are many phonetic errors that are often found in speaking Arabic, including errors in pronouncing the letters. Arabic has long vowels and consonants that other languages ​​like Indonesian don't have. There are even sounds that are close together and sounds that are firm are characteristics of Arabic which are often problematic in learning Arabic. Research Limitation/Implications- Therefore the author divides from the mistakes made by the students to overcome them. This research could not be deeper because of the limited time given, even so this research got satisfactory results and it is hoped that it can help develop the maharah kalam learning process at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School Probolinggo.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the speaking skill in lecturing processes using Instagram media based on the constructivism theory, the problems, and students’ perceptions of the lecturing process. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with several data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of this study concluded that in the implementation of speaking skill lectures, the lecturer used several steps, namely: (1) Instagram media preparation, (2) introduction to the topic, (3) and several core stages oriented to emphasizing the construction of students’ thinking in making the concept of speaking. This study also found several problems such as weak internet networks and a lack of confidence amongst students to upload their speaking skill videos on their personal Instagram accounts. Students also gave positive perceptions such as increased thinking skills and an increase in the number of followers of their Instagram accounts. On the other hand, the researchers also found negative perceptions such as their weak scientific capacity in video editing, speaking skill, and gadgets’ conditions that do not support video editing applications. The researchers suggest that further research is conducted on the integration of constructivism theory with several other social media popular among learners.

Abstract

This study departs from the problem of lack of clarity in classification of research areas in Arabic Language Education. This study aims to describe and create a concept map in the research areas of students majoring in Bachelor of Arabic Language Education of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UNSIQ Wonosobo, UNNES and UMY. This is a descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. Data were collected by way of documentation to be analyzed inductively with content analysis. The qualitative data were analyzed using an interactive analysis, particularly through data reduction, data submission, and conclusion drawing. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were analyzed using a frequency distribution. From the study, it is clear that students taking the Bachelor of Arabic Language Education in several universities in Indonesia mostly conduct their research on the following eighteen topics, namely: learning methods (34.4%), learning media (21.7%), learning materials (10.5%), psycholinguistics (6.1%), syntax (5%), morphology (4.4%) curriculum (3.9%), reading skills (3.3%), science of balaghah (2.8%), translation (2%), learning evaluation (1.1%), dictionary (1.1%), sociolinguistics (1.1%), listening skill (0.5%), speaking skill (0.5%), writing skill (0.5%), phonology (0.5%) and semantics (0.5%). In addition, the concept mapping reveals that teaching and learning serve as the most widely addressed topics in Arabic language education.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop teaching materials for writing skills with the Follow the Line Method as a solution to the difficulties in writing Arabic sentences for students at the elementary level. There are difficulties in writing Arabic sentences among non-Arabic students, especially students in the beginning stages. These difficulties cause many mistakes in writing Arabic letters and sentences even though most of them do not know how to write Arabic sentences. The method used in this research was the research and development method using the ADDIE model. The techniques employed for data collection included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The population in this research consisted of fifth grade students, with a sample size of 33 students. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Development of teaching materials for writing skills with the Follow the Line method using the ADDIE model, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. 2) The use of the developed teaching materials proved effective in its application. Judging from the results obtained from Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed), the value (0.000) was smaller than 0 = (0.05), indicating a difference between the average results of students in the pre-test and post-test. The theoretical result of this study is that learning to write Arabic for beginners with the Follow the Line Method makes it easier for students to write Arabic letters and words.
