Abstract This research is a research oriented to the analysis of difficulties in writing Arabic sentences in third grade students of Tsnawiyah Mawaridussalam, Batangkais, North Sumatra. The purpose of this study is to find out what difficulties are experienced by students, what factors cause these difficulties, and how they affect students. This study use descriptive qualitative research methods, while the data collection techniques use unstructured interviews and data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of this study indicate that students still have difficulty in distinguishing letters that have a similar appearance and makharijul letters are similar. The influencing factors are divided into internal factors in the form of interest, motivation, and knowledge of students towards the mufradat and qaidah of Arabic writing and external factors in the form of environment, teachers, and infrastructure. These difficulties have an impact on students' academic achievement. This study shows that the difficulties and factors as well as the impact on the difficulty of writing Arabic for each person are different, but cannot be separated from the things that have been mentioned in the study. This research explained the role of seniors in assisting new students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Bahasa Arab (STIBA) in enhancing their Arabic speaking proficiency. The research methodology employed in this study is qualitative research and case study design. Data are gathered through observations and interviews. The findings of this research indicate that seniors have a significant impact on helping new students to improve their Arabic speaking skills at STIBA Ar-Rayyah. Seniors serve as mentors, peers, and a support system that provides positive encouragement to new students. They offer guidance and support both within the campus dormitories and outside, engaging in various activities where Arabic is the primary communication language. Seniors also motivate and help new students gain confidence in speaking Arabic and overcome learning obstacles. This research underscores the importance of non-academic aspects in the educational institution, such as motivation and emotional support, which can have a positive impact on academic performance and personal development of students. The role of seniors at STIBA Ar-Rayyah fosters a conducive learning environment that aids new students in enhancing their Arabic speaking skills

This study explored how to use ecological approach to provide more contextual and relevant learning experiences for students. The use of an ecological approach in language learning is systematically reviewed in this work using a comprehensive literature review methodology. The review process is methodologically designed as a result of these processes adhering to a clear and transparent framework. The 35 articles found are then selected by inclusion and exclusion categories to produce 7 articles for analysis according to the literature review focusing on language learning both internally and externally. Key findings from the selected studies are examined to acquire a thorough grasp of the impact of ecological techniques in language learning environments. The findings of the analysis demonstrate that an ecological approach to language acquisition has the potential to significantly improve students' learning experiences by using an inclusive, responsive, and holistic approach.

Students’ weak ability in speaking Arabic is still a challenge for many educational institutions. This happens due to the lack of students’ opportunities to use Arabic and Arabic speaking figures in the learning environment. This research aimed to investigate: (1) the application of Arabic instruction at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, (2) the supporting factors of success in improving Ta'bir Syafahi at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, (3) the positive implications of teaching using Arabic instruction towards students' language skills. Qualitative approach case study was employed in this research with interview and observation as the data collection techniques. Documentation during the study were also collected as a supporting instrument. Furthermore, the data analysis step was collecting, condensing, interpreting, concluding, and confirming the validity of the data by triangulation method and peer discussion. The results of this study indicated that: Firstly, the application of Arabic as the language of instruction at UIN Jakarta is represented in four curriculum components: objectives, material, methods, and learning evaluation. Secondly, there are two supporting factors for increasing Ta'bir Syafahi by suing Arabic instruction at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, they are the internal factors consisting of the students’ motivation and enthusiasm to make progress and the students’ background, and external factors consisting of training routines, supportive language environment, competent human resources, also material and non-material support from the faculty. Lastly, the positive implications of teaching using Arabic instruction towards students' language skills at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta are divided into two areas: fluency and speaking confidence. In conclusion, the shaping of Arabic-speaking learning environment through the use of Arabic instruction can contribute to improve students’ ability of Ta'bir Syafahi.

The target of high-level thinking in learning reading skills at the Abdullah Faqih Gresik Islamic Institute has not been fully fulfilled, and also has not been able to utilize modern technology, this makes learning ineffective and less enjoyable because there is no appropriate learning model. The purpose of this research is to develop a reading skill model based on Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) and Technology, Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) and determine its validity, practicality and effectiveness. This type of research is research and development with Borg and Gall steps. The results of the validation questionnaire from the test results of 88% of model component experts with good and honest averages, 80% of media experts with the same standard and 80% of learning material experts with the same average. After conducting field trials, the results showed that the new learning model was more effective than the old one. It was demonstrated by the results of the T-test value using the SPSS 22 program, which is (0.000) smaller than the T-table degree at a significance level of 0.05% (0.05). This effectiveness is also shown by the summative value results of female students with an average of 81.7 or good predicates. The theoretical results of this study indicate that the learning process based on higher order thinking skills and modern technology contributes to the thinking process of students in a comfortable and enjoyable way.

The study of Ilmu Nahwu plays a central role in mastering the Arabic language; however, it continues to face various challenges, particularly in terms of student engagement and deep conceptual understanding. This study aims to examine the synergy between perception, cognition, and action in learning Nahwu through a psychopedagogical approach and to explore its impact on students’ self-awareness and academic resilience. Employing a qualitative method with an exploratory case study design, data were collected from five students of the Arabic Language Education Program at Universitas Ma’arif Lampung through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research instruments were developed based on a psychopedagogical framework, and the data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis. The findings indicate that high enthusiasm in learning Nahwu significantly shapes students’ comprehension of grammatical rules, positive attitudes toward the subject, and active engagement in the learning process. This enthusiasm is manifested in three interrelated dimensions: perception, cognition, and action. The interaction among these dimensions fosters not only a critical understanding of Nahwu but also the development of independent learning habits. Theoretically, this study positions enthusiasm as a key psychopedagogical construct that bridges perception, cognition, and action in Nahwu learning. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of implementing interactive teaching strategies that cultivate enthusiasm to strengthen students’ self-awareness and academic resilience, thereby promoting a sustainable and reflective learning culture in Arabic grammar education.

This study explores the pedagogical journey of redesigning Arabic writing instruction (Kitabah) from conventional classroom exercises toward a publication-oriented model. Employing a narrative inquiry approach, the research reconstructs the professional experiences of a senior professor at Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara through narrative interviews, researcher field notes, and document analysis. The findings reveal four transformative themes: (a) the strategic shift toward product-based learning, (b) the establishment of an intensive mentoring ecosystem with iterative revision cycles, (c) the cultivation of ethical awareness in journal selection, and (d) the enhancement of students' academic readiness and publication literacy. These themes converge to underscore the instructional model's transformative potential, evidenced by the successful publication of 12 student-authored articles in Sinta-indexed and Garuda-indexed journals within a single academic year. The discussion emphasises that this pedagogical transition necessitates the lecturer's evolution from a traditional evaluator into a rhythm regulator who fosters scholarly identity. Ultimately, this research demonstrates that integrating real-world publication standards into the curriculum proactively mitigates academic anxiety and empowers students as emerging scholars. The study offers a conceptual and ethical roadmap for language educators seeking to professionalise foreign-language pedagogy through intentional mentoring and rigorous scholarship.

Learning the interpretation of the Qur'an more precisely on thematic interpretation material, still faces obstacles in the field, including not being able to produce output that can use interpretation well. The purpose of this research is to understand: (1) the application of a communicative approach in learning interpretation of Qur’an at Al Jihad Islamic Boarding School Surabaya for female, (2) the obstacles faced by teachers in applying a communicative approach in learning interpretation of Qur’an at Al Jihad Islamic Boarding School Surabaya fro female. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Research data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using Miles and Huberman's model, are: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, (4) concluding. The results showed that the application of the communicative approach through several steps, there are: short dialogues, exercises, questions, communicative expressions, analysis and concluding, then evaluation. And also there several obstacles in the application of the communicative approach, it is: the lack of confidence in students in expressing the results of thematic interpretations orally in Arabic, there are difficulties in developing the delivery of some material into a communicative approach, and the last is the lack of time available for learning interpretation of holy Qur’an. The conclusion of this study shows that a communicative approach is needed in learning interpretation of holy Qur’an on thematic interpretation material to be more effective.

This study aims to analyze the dimensions of language anxiety in students’ speaking skills in the Arabic Language Education Department in Riau Province, to identify the factors contributing to the emergence of such anxiety, and to explore the strategies employed by students to cope with it. This study adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that language anxiety in speaking skills is multidimensional in nature, manifested in three main dimensions: the linguistic anxiety dimension, the psychological anxiety dimension, and the situational anxiety dimension. The linguistic dimension is associated with concerns about grammatical errors, limited vocabulary, and pronunciation difficulties. The psychological dimension relates to affective factors, such as feelings of embarrassment, fear of negative social evaluation, and low self-confidence. Meanwhile, the situational dimension is linked to learning situations influenced by instructional contexts, particularly in formal and evaluative settings such as presentations and oral examinations. The study also reveals that students employ a variety of cognitive, affective, and social strategies to cope with language anxiety in speaking performance, although the effectiveness of these strategies largely depends on the level of support provided by the pedagogical environment. The study concludes that language anxiety in speaking skills cannot be understood merely as an issue of linguistic competence, but rather as a complex learning phenomenon. Furthermore, this study offers a conceptual framework grounded in students’ experiences to understand the dimensions of anxiety within the context of Arabic language education at the university level. Therefore, the teaching of speaking skills should be designed using an approach that is more sensitive to students’ affective conditions, as this approach plays a crucial role in enhancing self-confidence and increasing student participation in the learning process. ملخص تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل أبعاد القلق اللغوي في مهارة الكلام لدى طلبة قسم تعليم اللغة العربية في محافظة رياو، وتحديد العوامل المؤثرة في ظهور هذا القلق، وإلى استكشاف استراتيجيات الطلبة المستخدمة للتغلب على هذا القلق. تعتمد هذه الدراسة على المنهج النوعي باستخدام تصميم دراسة حالة. وتم جمع البيانات من خلال المقابلات، وملاحظة، والوثائق. ثم جرى تحليلها باستخدام التحليل الموضوعي. وتشير نتائج الدراسة إلى أن القلق اللغوي في مهارة الكلام يتسم بطابع متعدد الأبعاد، ويتجلى ذلك في ثلاثة أبعاد رئيسة، هي البعد اللغوي للقلق، والبعد النفسي للقلق، والبعد الموقفي للقلق. ويرتبط البعد اللغوي للقلق بالخشية من الأخطاء في البنية اللغوية، ومحدودية المفردات، وصعوبات النطق. وأما البعد النفسي للقلق فيتعلق بالمشاعر، مثل الشعور بالخجل، والخوف من التقييم الاجتماعي السلبي، وانخفاض مستوى الثقة بالنفس. ويرتبط البعد الموقفي للقلق بالمواقف التي تتأثر بسياق التعلم، ولا سيما في الحالات الرسمية والتقويمية، مثل العروض التقديمية والاختبارات الشفوية. واستكشفت هذه الدراسة أن الطلبة يستخدمون مجموعة متنوعة من الاستراتيجيات المعرفية والاستراتيجيات الوجدانية والاستراتيجيات الاجتماعية للتغلب على القلق اللغوي في أداء مهارة الكلام، على الرغم من أن فاعلية هذه الاستراتيجيات تعتمد إلى حدّ كبير على مستوى الدعم الذي توفره البيئة البيداغوجية. وتخلص هذه الدراسة إلى أن القلق اللغوي في مهارة الكلام لا يمكن فهمه بوصفه مجرد مسألة تتعلق بالقدرة اللغوية فحسب، بل يعدّ ظاهرة تعلمية معقدة. كما تقدم الدراسة في الوقت ذاته إطارا تصوريا قائما على خبرات الطلبة لفهم أبعاد القلق في سياق تعليم اللغة العربية في المرجلة الجامعية. ولذلك، ينبغي أن يصمّم تعليم مهارة الكلام وفق مقاربة أكثر حساسية تجاه الظروف الوجدانية لدى الطلبة. وتكتسب هذه المقاربة أهمية بالغة في تعزيز مستوى الثقة بالنفس وزيادة مشاركة الطلبة في عملية التعلم.
