Abstract

The rapid development of concrete nowadays demands us to conduct research or further develop previous research. The goal is to produce higher quality concrete products. This research aims to determine the effect of adding Poly Vinyl Acetate white glue to the physical and mechanical properties of concrete with a ratio of 1PC: 2PS: 3KR. This research was conducted at the Materials Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department, State Polytechnic of Semarang. The concrete produced in this study is in the form of cylinders with a diameter of 15cm, nine in total, and one beam measuring 15x15x60 cm. The samples produced consist of one sample of normal concrete and four samples with PVAc glue mixtures (2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%). The research results show that the addition of glue has little effect physically. The percentage results of compressive strength of cylinders at 7 days of age with normal concrete are as follows: PVAc 2.5% increased by 12.96%; PVAc 5% increased by 4.78%; PVAc 7.5% decreased by 14.68%; PVAc 10% decreased by 39.57%. At 14 days of age, with normal concrete: PVAc 2.5% increased by 16.66%; PVAc 5% decreased by 3.65%; PVAc 7.5% decreased by 20.93%; PVAc 10% decreased by 52.10%. At 28 days of age, with normal concrete: PVAc 2.5% decreased by 6.13%; PVAc 5% decreased by 13.24%; PVAc 7.5% decreased by 20.69%; PVAc 10% decreased by 48.86%. As for the flexural strength results of beams at 28 days of age, concrete with PVAc content: 2.5% decreased by 32.09%; 5% decreased by 45.56%; 7.5% decreased by 36.51%; 10% decreased by 33.88%. These results are compared with normal concrete.

Abstract

Jakarta in the early 1960s has experienced a fairly large urban development. The lighthouse project launched by President Soekarno in the early 1960s has made the migration of villagers to Jakarta more frequent. The majority of residents who come to Jakarta are poor and lack skills, which allows them to work in many informal sectors in Jakarta such as pedicab drivers, street vendors and even the homeless. The problem in this study discusses the increase in vagrants in Jakarta in 1962-1977, as well as the purpose of this study to find the beginning of the increase in vagrants in Jakarta and the Government's strategy in dealing with vagrants.

Abstract

Soil shear strength testing is a test required for analysis of soil bearing capacity, slope stability, and analysis related to retaining walls. One method of testing soil shear strength is to use a Triaxial tool. The Triaxial test equipment consists of a glass tube which is then filled with water as a pressure cell. Then it is connected to the drainage regulator inside and outside the test object. Failure of the test object is carried out by applying vertical stress to the test object until it collapses. From the Triaxial test, there are several parts that can influence the testing stage process. Among them are the stages of the drainage process, to speed up the rate of drainage, Triaxial test objects require pore stones and filter paper. The use of pro stone and filter paper is based on the type of porosity property. In this research, an analysis of the effectiveness of several types of pore stone will be carried out, including Kaolin dust and types for filter paper, including Whatman No. 54. The placement of pore stone is provided in two variations, including samples with one layer of pore stone and samples with two layers of pore stone. Meanwhile, the sample filter paper is modified by using one layer of filter paper, 2 layers of filter paper, and a drain strip around the sample.

Abstract

Corruption is a crucial problem and an extraordinary crime that has wide-ranging impacts on society, the nation, and the state. The issue of corruption certainly requires serious attention. This cannot be separated from the fact that corruption has become commonplace, where its presence can be found from the central to regional levels, including rural areas. The cases of this crime continue to increase year by year. The rampant corruption cases necessitate eradication efforts involving every element of society by instilling anti-corruption values in daily life. This can be packaged through strengthening anti-corruption character as a strategic step by educating and reinforcing mental attitudes in a structured way to foster and strengthen anti-corruption behavior. The target for strengthening anti-corruption character is universal, regardless of age, gender, environment, or educational level. As long as a person can receive anti-corruption education, this step will be effective as a strategy to prevent and reduce corruption. Educational institutions are one of the bodies that need to implement anti-corruption education programs, as seen at Mega Islamic Boarding School High School in Semarang City. The eradication of corruption by instilling anti-corruption education is very important, especially for students, as they are the younger generation who will one day hold the future of the nation. Moreover, Mega Islamic Boarding School High School in Semarang City is an Islamic-based educational institution, which firmly holds that corruption is forbidden because it threatens human safety and causes harm to dignity and wealth, and those who commit it will face penalties not only in this world but also in the hereafter
