Abstract

The education system in the current era of globalization has changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning takes place in the new normal transition period using the blended learning method. Blended learning that emphasizes students to study offline and online can lead to a lack of student scientific literacy. This study developed an e-module of physics in health to facilitate student learning that can be used for offline and online learning. This study aims to describe e-modules based on discovery learning about hydrostatic pressure submaterial. This type in research by adapting 4-D development model (define, design, develop, desseminate). The research instrument used was the media questionnaire, student response sheets, and scientific literacy questions. The results showed that the priority of the experts was 94% very well. Student responses to the e-module obtained a value of 90% very good category. The N-Gain value was obtained at 0.4 in the medium category. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that the e-module based on the discovery learning is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Students' scientific literacy can be trained by integrating local culture into learning. The integration of local culture into learning science can provide insight to students to process local culture into something meaningful in learning science. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in students' scientific literacy abilities before and after integrated science learning with local culture, the Dhadak Merak Reyog Ponorogo dance. The type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The sample selection was carried out by cluster random sampling consisting of 20 students in class VII D. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The instruments used in data collection were questionnaires, observation sheets, and scientific literacy tests on competency aspects adopted from the OECD. Data research techniques using the Wilcoxon test with the help of SPSS 25 software at α (0.05). The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in students' scientific literacy through learning science based on the local culture of the Dhadak Merak Reyog Ponorogo dance as indicated by the sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 <α (0.05); (2) The average scientific literacy ability of students at the posttest (57.47) is higher than the average literacy ability of students during the pretest (44.12).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with purposive sampling techniques with the subject in this study, namely grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Juwangi. The result of the study is that each indicator of critical thinking skills has different results. The interpreting indicator has a value of 67,96 including the enough category, the analyze indicator has a value of 47,65 belonging to the low category, the evaluating indicator has a value of 66,40 belonging to the enough category, the indicator concludes to have a value of 53,12 belongs to the low category, and the explaining indicator has a value of 48,43 belonging to the low category. the average critical thinking skills of learners belong to the low category with a score of 56,57. The low critical thinking skills are caused when the learning process is still conventional so that it is only centered on the teacher and also not optimal learning activities that can improve students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that researchers can then develop learning tools that can improve students' critical thinking skills in science learning in junior high schools

Abstract

The variety of levels of student learning motivation causes learning in class not to be implemented optimally even to affect the problem solving process. One of the lessons that emphasize the skills in the form of the ability to solve problems is Natural Sciences (Natural Sciences). Therefore, this research is a tukuk tukuk analyzing the ability to solve the problem of junior high school students in grade VII in Gempta and Mitigation material. This research uses a scientific approach to cooperative learning models. The research design uses pretest and posttest. The pretest results are 54.74% and the posttest average value is 75.73%. Based on the results of the discussion test it can be interpreted that there are significant differences or improvements to the results of the pretest and posttest in both classes of class VII C and VII D. The results of the pretest include the Dalas of the Poor Category. Medium category, while posttest results show good results

Abstract

Each region of Indonesia has a distinct characteristic that distinguishes it from the others. This distinctiveness has the potential to improve a region's economy. A region's local potential can be introduced through education by integrating local potential into learning, including science learning. In accordance with this, this study was conducted to analyze the concept of science based on the local potential of Kembang Island, to determine how to integrate the local potential of "Kembang Island" into science learning, and to determine the outcomes of the implementation of learning using local potential. The qualitative-descriptive study method was used. The instruments utilized for research were observation sheets and response questionnaires. The results indicate that Kembang Island's ecosystem material contains three scientific concepts: pollution, earth layers, and disasters. The fundamental competencies in the three materials are integrated into a webbed model with the theme "My Environment at Kembang Island Nature Park." The integration of local potential in learning took the form of lesson plans, student worksheets, handouts, and assessment instruments.

Abstract

This study aims to develop guided inquiry electronic worksheets that are suitable for use. Another objective is to determine the level of effectiveness of guided inquiry electronic worksheet products in reducing misconceptions and improving the mastering physics concepts in straight motion material. This Research and Development (R&D) research adapts the stages of development research from Borg and Gall. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Gerung, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. A total of 60 students in class XI MIPA for empirical trials of test instruments, and 94 students in class X MIPA for extensive trials. The data analysis technique uses 1 way ANOVA with advanced testing using partial ETA square for analyzing concept mastery, while misconceptions use Certainty Response Index (CRI) analysis. The results of expert validation on guided inquiry student worksheet development products, and supporting products in the form of lesson plans and conceptual mastery skills test instruments are included in the category of proper use and very valid. The empirical test results of the test instrument have also been categorized as valid. The application of guided inquiry electronic worksheet products based on CRI analysis effectively reduces misconceptions by 42.31%. Based on the results of the 1st ANOVA inferential statistical analysis, it was significant at 0.039, indicating that there were differences in concept mastery between students who applied guided inquiry worksheets and students in the control class. Further test results with partial ETA square also show the effectiveness of the product in the form of influence on concept mastery with a significant 0.039, which is a moderate leve

Abstract

Science is a lesson that discusses various natural phenomena scientifically and systematically in life. Along with the times, science has undergone many transformations in improving the quality of learning, one of which is local culture-based science learning. The rapid flow of globalization of foreign cultures that enter Indonesia, making the youth generation begin to forget local culture as a noble identity. This study aims to see the effect of local culture-based science learning on the profile of cultural awareness of junior high school students. The research method used is quantitative research by giving post-test to two different classes that have implemented the learning. The two classes consisted of 31 people in the modeling class and 29 people in the implementation class. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The results obtained were then analyzed and discussed descriptively quantitatively. The results show that the application of Kuantan Singingi Pacu Jalur culture-based learning can affect the achievement of students' cultural concern profile by obtaining an average score of high categories in the modeling class and very high in the implementation class. Although the average results are in two different categories, when tested through non-Parametric statistics the two results do not have a significant difference

Abstract

Technology has a positive role in improving students' learning abilities. The teacher has the leading role in implementing technology in the classroom. This study aims to introduce technology that can be integrated into science learning and report the perspective of science teachers with different educational backgrounds in integrating technology into the learning process. The study uses a qualitative method by using interviews to collect data. The participants were selected randomly from the Association of Science Education Teachers in West Bandung, Indonesia. Six teachers chose to be interviewed based on different teaching experiences and educational backgrounds. The study found that science teachers with different educational backgrounds have different perspectives on the difficulty of teaching science concepts. But they have the same solution to this problem: integrating technology into the learning process. All participants in this study have experience integrating technology in learning but are the first experience in using AR technology. Various technologies are considered appropriate for integration into science learning, but AR technology that can visualize abstract concepts has the potential to be used more in education
