Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out a review of the compilation of Islamic law regarding interfaith marriages from a sharia perspective. The method used in this research is qualitative, with a comparative approach by conducting literature studies related to studies of theories relevant to the problem of interfaith marriages. In the view of Islamic law, marriage between different religions is strictly prohibited because it is contrary to the rules of Islamic law in maintaining the existence of religion. The goal of marriage is to create a sakinanh, mawaddah wa Rahmah household, but this goal is very difficult to realize if the marriage is built on the basis of different religions. Based on Marriage Law Number 1 of 1974 which is implemented in the compilation of Islamic law, it states that it does not accommodate interfaith marriages to strengthen the arguments put forward in the Koran.

Abstract

This study critically examines the perspectives of Islamic feminists on patriarchal elements embedded in Islamic family law in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, the research draws insights from five key informants, including scholars, activists, and legal practitioners engaged in Islamic feminist discourse. The findings reveal that patriarchal interpretations—particularly regarding male guardianship, polygamy, divorce, and inheritance—are rooted in socio-cultural biases rather than Islamic theological principles. Islamic feminists advocate for contextual reinterpretation (ijtihad) of religious texts to restore the egalitarian spirit of Islam. Through public education, legal advocacy, and collaboration with religious leaders, they promote reform efforts that challenge institutional resistance and conservative narratives. This study contributes to the broader discourse on gender justice in Muslim-majority societies by highlighting the transformative potential of Islamic feminism in reimagining family law in alignment with Islamic ethical values and contemporary gender equality.

Abstract

Wound healing in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) presents a major clinical challenge, particularly due to alterations in body composition such as reduced muscle mass and increased fat mass. This systematic review aimed to synthesize current evidence regarding the impact of body composition on wound healing effectiveness in T2DM patients. Literature was retrieved from PubMed, ProQuest, Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar, targeting observational and experimental studies published between 2015 and 2025. Keywords included "type 2 diabetes mellitus", "wound healing", "body composition", "sarcopenia", and "obesity". Articles were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Methodological quality was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) checklist. A total of seven eligible studies were included and analyzed narratively. The findings from the 4 articles analyzed showed that low muscle mass (sarcopenia) and high fat mass (obesity) were associated with delayed wound healing in T2DM patients. Some studies indicate that patients with better body composition balance, such as higher muscle mass index, experience faster wound healing. Heterogeneity in measurement methods and study populations limits the strength of these conclusions. This review supports the hypothesis that body composition significantly influences wound healing outcomes in T2DM. Muscle mass reduction may impair tissue repair by limiting perfusion and immune responses, while increased fat mass may contribute to chronic inflammation that hinders tissue regeneration. Further longitudinal research with standardized assessments is needed. Interventions that promote muscle mass gain and fat mass control may be essential components in wound management strategies for diabetic patients.

Abstract

In South Sulawesi, justice in polygamy is not merely a matter of law—it is a living dialogue between divine principles and ancestral wisdom. This study explores how local wisdom, particularly the adat system, serves as a foundational pillar of justice in the practice of polygamy under Islamic law. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research draws on interviews and document analysis involving religious leaders, community elders and affected families. The findings reveal that while Islamic law provides the formal legal framework, local customs deeply influence its interpretation and implementation. Adat norms ensure that polygamy is practiced with fairness, emphasizing the equitable treatment of wives, fulfillment of economic responsibilities and preservation of familial harmony. These traditions act as a moral compass, guiding the community to uphold justice in ways that resonate with their social values. Rather than conflicting with Islamic principles, local wisdom complements them—creating a hybrid system that is both legally sound and culturally sensitive. The study concludes that integrating local wisdom into formal legal structures can enhance the contextual relevance and social legitimacy of family law. It recommends a pluralistic approach to justice that honors both religious doctrine and indigenous knowledge, fostering a more humane and balanced legal practice.
