Abstract

The management of practical facilities and infrastructure is a crucial component of vocational education because it directly affects the quality of learning and students’ readiness to meet industry demands. Many vocational schools still face challenges in planning, maintaining, and optimizing facility use, resulting in practicum activities that do not fully support competency achievement. Strengthening facility management practices that align with industrial standards is therefore essential. This study aims to analyze the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMK Negeri 1 Pontianak based on practicum needs using the POSDCORB theoretical framework. A descriptive qualitative method was employed through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies, supported by source triangulation to ensure data credibility. The findings show that the planning of facility and infrastructure procurement is conducted collaboratively among productive teachers, workshop heads, and industry partners; the organizational structure is clearly implemented through official decrees and SOPs; technical training for teachers and technicians enhances equipment utilization; coordination with internal and external stakeholders is consistently maintained; damage reporting procedures are systematic and well-documented; and budgeting prioritizes essential practicum needs. In conclusion, facility and infrastructure management at SMK Negeri 1 Pontianak demonstrates an adaptive, collaborative, and accountable governance model that effectively supports industry-oriented learning.

Abstract

Polystyrene is a petroleum-based polymer widely used in single-use packaging and thermal insulation. Its high molecular weight and structural stability make it highly resistant to degradation, leading to persistent environmental accumulation. Recent studies have highlighted the potential of insect gut microbiota, particularly from mealworms, to biodegrade plastic waste. In this study, gut extracts were inoculated into Nutrient Broth (NB) and Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB), each supplemented with polystyrene as emulsion, powder, or film. NB showed the highest reduction in polystyrene weight (0.93%) by day 28, compared to PDB (0.73%). Total plate count and yeast-mold count analyses revealed microbial proliferation in both media, with NB exhibiting a higher final bacterial count (7.562 log cfu/mL) than PDB (6.510 log cfu/mL), while fungal counts were comparable. Scanning Electron Microscopy confirmed structural damage to polystyrene films, including surface roughening and micro-pitting, especially in NB. These findings indicate that media composition significantly influences microbial growth and degradation efficiency. NB appears to favor bacterial communities with enhanced plastic-degrading capabilities, demonstrating superior biodegradation potential in liquid culture.

Abstract

Background: The implementation of deep learning-based instruction not only offers a more adaptive and personalized approach to student needs, but also requires teacher readiness and increased competency to implement it effectively in the classroom. Therefore, the goal of this community service activity is to improve the professional competence of junior high school teachers in Mempawah. so that they are able to design and implement learning processes that are more meaningful, creative, and oriented towards developing students' high-level thinking skills. Contribution: This training provides a real contribution in improving teachers' professional competence while helping teachers understand the concepts, implementation strategies, and evaluation techniques of deep learning- based learning, so that they can be applied in teaching and learning activities. Method: This community service activity was implemented using a descriptive qualitative approach through lectures, discussions, and training. The material presented by lecturers and students included an introduction to the basic concepts of deep learning, their application in learning, and relevant implementation strategies. Results: The training results demonstrated improved teacher competency in implementing deep learning- based instruction. Eighty-five percent of participants were able to design meaningful learning activities. This indicates the training's positive impact on improving teachers' pedagogical skills. Conclusion: This training shows that teachers need systematic planning, the role of a facilitator in implementation, and authentic evaluation of the Solo Taxonomy.

Abstract

West Kalimantan is one of the provinces with the largest area of peatland in Indonesia. Peat soil with a sapric maturity level is generally known to have high bacterial diversity with tremendous potential for characterization. In addition, the characterization of sapric peat soil bacteria has the potential to be used as a biology learning resource. This research aims to conduct a structured evaluation of the potential of West Kalimantan’s sapric peat soil bacteria characterization as a biology learning resource, specifically in the subtopic on Indonesian biodiversity. This research is qualitative and comprises two stages: interviews with a biology teacher and the analysis of requirements for biology learning resources. Through interviews, it was revealed that the central issue in the subtopic of Indonesian biodiversity is the limitation of adequate learning resources for studying biodiversity at the microbial level. Meanwhile, the analysis of biology learning resource requirements showed that the West Kalimantan’s sapric peat soil bacteria characterization met all six specified requirements, accompanied by the synopsis and scenario for the documentary film as a preliminary design. Therefore, the West Kalimantan’s sapric peat soil bacteria characterization has the potential to serve as a biology learning resource for the subtopic of Indonesian biodiversity, enriching the learning of microbial diversity with local biodiversity.

The implementation of the newspaper publishing process requires to compose 'learning and continuous practice, in order to produce a correct writing according to Arabic rules. At first, the majority of Dalfis students found a difficult to write Arabic, whether it was in the form of information in the Dalfis Arabic newspaper, because there was a lack of learning to write Arabic by Dalfis only once a week. The purposes of the research are as follows: 1. To determine the process of implementation of Arabic newspaper publishing activities in supporting writing skills. 2. To find out the weaknesses in the process of publishing Arabic newspapers in improving writing skills. 3. To find out the factors that influence the publication of Arabic newspapers. The research method, researchers used a descriptive approach by using data collection methods, interview, observation and documentation. The teacher only gives a few titles to students and asked them to write down without giving detailed guidance. Thus it need for good management in Arabic newspaper publishing activities in order it can improve students' skills in writing Arabic. The Weaknesses in activities of publishing Arabic newspapers includes the lack of references related to Arabic such as Arabic magazines, contemporary dictionaries and other one. Thus Dalfis should equip the Arabic language facilities and infrastructure in in order the students are able to read and have a writing skills. The factors influencing the publication of Arabic newspapers are internal factors, namely the lack of explanation given by the teacher about the rules of writing in Arabic, thus the teachers must increase their teaching competence, so that students can understand optimally. Meanwhile, external factors, namely the culture of speaking Arabic among Dalfis students for 24 hours both inside the Dalfis complex and outside.

Abstract

This study responds to the growing challenges of violence, hierarchical abuse, gender-based discrimination, and radicalism in pesantren, which underscore the need for alternative educational frameworks grounded in compassion, inclusivity, and justice. It examines the Love-Based Curriculum as a conceptual and practical approach to strengthening Islamic boarding school education in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative library research method, the study analyzes a wide range of academic and policy literature, including classical Islamic thought, national educational philosophy, and contemporary perspectives, to explore how love-based values can prevent violence and reinforce religious moderation. The core novelty of this research lies in its synthesis of three key perspectives Al-Ghazali’s ethical pedagogy, Ki Hajar Dewantara’s humanistic educational philosophy, and Abdurrahman Wahid’s (Gus Dur’s) peace-oriented thought into an integrated framework of the Love-Based Curriculum. The findings indicate that compassion, inclusivity, and justice function as foundational principles for addressing hierarchical abuse, gender-based violence, radicalism, and intolerance in pesantren. Overall, the study highlights the Love-Based Curriculum as a preventive and transformative model that supports child-friendly education and promotes religious moderation amid the spread of exclusivist narratives in the digital era. It recommends institutional support from pesantren leaders and policymakers, as well as further research on practical models of implementation across diverse educational contexts.
