Abstract

Plastic waste is a type of waste that is difficult to decompose by natural processes so other alternatives are needed in its processing such as paving block construction materials. This study aims to determine the effect of the characteristics of plastic bottle waste and determine the compressive strength value of paving blocks. The method used in the study was an experiment in the Civil Engineering Laboratory, Politeknik Negeri Fakfak with a mixture composition of 100% PS, 50 PS: 50% KK, 40% PS: 60% KK with a rectangular paving block design type measuring 20 cm x 10 cm x 8 cm. The results showed that using 50% plastic bottle waste and 50% gravel affected the characteristics and compressive strength value of paving blocks. The compressive strength value of Paving Blocks using 50% PS bottle waste and 50% gravel was higher than the mixture of 100% PS bottle waste and the mixture of 40% PS bottle waste + 60% KK, which were 24.14 MPa, 22.79 MPa, and 21.58 MPa. The mix of 50% plastic bottle waste and 50% gravel showed good performance in the paving quality category, including a mixture of 20% PET and 80% fly ash with a quality of 24.20 MPa for use in pedestrian or parking areas.

Abstract

Abstract

Problems often faced by educational institutions recently are often found among students. Several cases that occurred at educational institutions in Bima were specifically related to acts of violence against children/students, either occurring among students or carried out by teaching staff. Cases of beatings experienced by educators are one of the most frequent cases in educational institutions at junior high to high school levels. This situation is a scourge in the teaching and learning process in educational institutions. So special attention is needed in handling this situation by providing character education from an early age so that students with character and morals can be formed. This research aims to determine the process of implementing moral education and transcendental idealism for students at MIN 5 Bima and SD IT Uswatun Hasanah. The method used is qualitative with a multicase study approach. Primary data sources in this research were obtained from two educational institutions, MIN 5 Bima and SD IT Uswatun Hasanah. The results of the research show that there are differences in the implementation of instilling moral values in elementary schools, especially at MIN 5 and SD IT Uswatun Hasanah. These differences show that MIN 5 implements three main activities in instilling moral values in students, namely the Thousand Days Movement. /Infaq for Charity, Tahfid (Memorization of Juz 30), and Health (Environmental Cleanliness) while the results of the activities of instilling moral values at SD IT show that through the program to save adab and ethical values as the formation of student character and morality with a values-based approach Islamic values. These efforts involve all elements in creating a learning environment that supports the positive character and spiritual development of students in the future.

Abstract

Abstract

Partnerships between corporations and local communities play a crucial role in promoting inclusive and sustainable development, especially in areas directly affected by industrial activities. However, the implementation of such partnerships often fails to reflect the principles of equality, transparency, and active community participation. This study is part of a community service initiative aimed at analyzing the partnership model between PT Alam Sinar and the local community in Gampingan Village, Pagak Subdistrict, Malang Regency. It also evaluates the benefits, supporting factors, and challenges of the partnership by comparing conditions before and after the program was implemented. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively, including the village head, CSR representatives from the company, and community beneficiaries. The community service team acted as facilitators during the assessment process, participatory discussions, and reflection sessions involving both residents and the company. Findings indicate that the partnership is implemented through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs focused on skills training, job creation, waste management, and the development of basic infrastructure. The benefits observed cover economic, social, and environmental aspects. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, such as limited community involvement in decision-making, suboptimal communication, and a lack of support from the district government. This study recommends strengthening community capacity, optimizing the role of village authorities, and developing a more inclusive, adaptive partnership model that responds to the actual needs of the local population.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Endris Foundation as a community-based social institution in assisting underprivileged communities in Gerung District, West Lombok Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving 10 informants, including organizational staff and aid recipients. The findings show that Endris Foundation provides two main types of assistance: material support, such as wheelchairs and food packages, and service-based support through medical accompaniment. The wheelchair aid improved mobility for 10 elderly and disabled recipients, while the medical assistance facilitated access to healthcare services for five families. In addition, food distribution helped reduce household economic burdens. Key challenges included family resistance to medical intervention, lack of transparency regarding beneficiary conditions, and communication gaps with village authorities over activity documentation. This study recommends implementing health education for beneficiary families and establishing formal coordination between the foundation and local government to strengthen collaborative efforts. The findings reinforce the vital role of community-based social institutions in addressing disparities in access to basic public services, particularly in areas with limited infrastructure.

Abstract

The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) is commonly used to assess the severity of head trauma; however, it is not sufficiently accurate for predicting midline shift (MLS) without imaging support. This study aims to analyze the sensitivity and specificity of GCS in predicting MLS in patients with acute SDH. Subjects were patients diagnosed with acute traumatic SDH who underwent non-contrast head CT scans. Data were collected to assess the correlation between GCS scores and MLS values and to determine the GCS cut-off point for predicting MLS. Among 34 patients, the majority were male (76.5%) and aged between 18–34 years (35.3%). Most patients had a GCS score of 9–13 (38.2%) and showed subarachnoid hemorrhage on CT scan (44.1%). A strong correlation was found between lower GCS scores and increased MLS. The mean MLS increased significantly with decreasing levels of consciousness. The GCS cut-off score to differentiate significant MLS was 13, with a sensitivity of 100%, specificity of 79.3%, positive predictive value of 87%, and negative predictive value of 85%. GCS has a strong correlation with MLS and can be used as a reliable clinical indicator to predict MLS in patients with acute traumatic SDH.

Abstract

Education is a guide in the growth of children, guiding all of their natural abilities so that they, as human beings and members of society, can achieve the highest possible level of safety and happiness. During adolescence, humans cannot be called adults, but they cannot be called children either. Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood, marked by various physical, cognitive, and psychosocial changes. Early marriage is a marriage contract conducted at an age below the legal requirement. Law No. 16 of 2019 amending Law No. 1 of 1974 on marriage states that marriage is only permitted if both the man and woman have reached the age of 19. This socialization activity aims to provide students with an understanding of the importance of education and the negative impacts of marriage conducted under the legal age. This outreach program uses lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer methods. Participants in this socialization program were approximately 50 students from grades IX MTS and XII MA, who gathered in one room to actively participate in the socialization. Based on the results of this socialization session, some students were less active in discussions but still followed the event attentively. Meanwhile, some students actively participated both in discussions and in answering questions from the presenter. The students understood the importance of education, knew the legal age for marriage, and were aware of the negative consequences of marrying underage.

Abstract

Indonesia is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO). After joining the WTO, Indonesia has continued to develop various international trade schemes with a number of countries. This article attempts to analyze the dynamics of Indonesia's coffee exports and imports through a supply and demand theory approach. Statistical data is used to analyze the current dynamics of Indonesia's coffee exports and imports. The results of the study show that to boost coffee exports and imports in ASEAN, Indonesia has issued a number of tariff exemption regulations. However, the value of Indonesia's exports and imports still lags far behind Vietnam's. The main issue with Indonesia's coffee production is the low productivity and comparative advantage of its coffee products.
