Abstract

The competition in the local beauty industry continues to grow, driven by skincare trends—especially sunscreen—and the influence of Korean culture in Indonesia. As a local brand, Azarine uses marketing strategies by appointing Korean celebrity Lee Min Ho as a brand ambassador and enhancing brand awareness to strengthen consumer recognition and increase purchase intention. This study aims to analyze the influence of brand ambassador and brand awareness on the purchase intention of Azarine sunscreen in Surabaya. Using a quantitative approach with purposive sampling, data were collected from 108 respondents through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS. The results show that brand ambassador and brand awareness have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, indicating that the use of public figures and strong brand awareness are key to attracting consumer interest.

Abstract

Abstract

Immigration public services require digital innovation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service transparency. The Eazy Passport service at the Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office of Pati has been managed through a manual registration process using formal letters, resulting in administrative inefficiencies, data entry errors, and difficulties in service scheduling. This community service activity aims to design and implement an integrated web-based registration and scheduling system for the Eazy Passport service. The implementation stages included needs analysis, system design, web application development, and system testing. The results show that the developed system simplifies the registration process for applicants, reduces administrative workload for immigration officers, improves data organization, and supports more structured and transparent service scheduling. The system provides a practical digital solution that contributes to enhancing the quality and efficiency of immigration public services.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the extent to which the use of fins and zoomers affects the improvement of 50-meter backstroke swimming speed among athletes of the Tri Cakti Semesta Semarang Club. A quantitative approach with a two-group pretest-posttest design was used. Twenty athletes were selected as participants and divided into two groups: the first group trained using fins, while the second group trained with zoomers. Data were collected through swimming speed tests conducted before and after 16 training sessions. The results were analyzed using Paired Samples T-Tests and Independent Samples T-Tests. The findings showed that both fins and zoomers significantly improved athletes' 50-meter backstroke swimming performance, with an average increase of 0.69 seconds and 0.72 seconds, respectively. However, a comparative analysis did not show a significant difference between the two training methods. In conclusion, both tools can be considered equally effective as training variations to support the improvement of backstroke swimming performance.

Abstract

Ectoparasites infestation is one of the major health problems affecting animals, including bats, which are known as reservoir hosts for various pathogens. Several reports have shown that a comprehensive understanding of ectoparasites on these animals is crucial from a public health perspective. Therefore, this study aims to identify the diversity of ectoparasites on bats in Dramaga, Bogor, Indonesia. The samples were captured at night with a mist net and then identified using the species identification key. Ectoparasites were collected from the body of the samples and identified using a microscope. A total of 56 bats from 9 species, namely Cynopterus brachyotis, Cynopterus sphinx, Cynopterus titthaecheilus, Macroglossus sobrinus, Rousettus leschenaultii, Myotis muricola, Nycteris javanica, Pipistrellus javanicus, and Scotophilus kuhlii were obtained in this study. The results of ectoparasites identification showed the presence of Basilia spp., Eucampsipoda sp., Leptocyclopodia ferrarii (Nycteribiidae), Raymondia sp. (Streblidae), Meristaspis spp., Spinturnix spp. (Spinturnicidae), and ticks (Ixodidae). The total prevalence of infested bats was 51.7%, with females tending to have a higher intensity compared to males. Bats species with the highest prevalence of infestation were Rousettus leschenaultii and Myotis muricola. Meanwhile, this study found no ectoparasites on Macroglossus sobrinus and Scotophilus kuhlii.

Abstract

Background Swimming is widely practiced as a physical activity and has been associated with diverse health-related benefits due to its low mechanical load and full-body movement characteristics. Specific background In recent years, swimming has also been positioned as an alternative treatment option for individuals experiencing various health conditions requiring recovery and rehabilitation. Knowledge gap Nevertheless, prior studies predominantly discuss physical or mental aspects separately, resulting in limited synthesis of swimming as an integrated treatment approach. Aims This study aims to examine swimming as an alternative treatment for various health conditions through a comprehensive literature review encompassing physical, psychological, and social dimensions. Results The findings indicate that swimming supports muscular function, cardiovascular and respiratory capacity, stress regulation, and psychosocial well-being, while remaining adaptable for conditions such as joint disorders, neurological disturbances, asthma, and scoliosis. Novelty This study offers an integrated treatment-oriented perspective that consolidates physical and mental recovery within a single analytical framework. Implications The results support the inclusion of swimming as a structured alternative treatment within health and rehabilitation programs tailored to individual conditions. Highlights Swimming functions as an alternative treatment across multiple health conditions. Water-based movement allows safe adaptation for rehabilitation needs. Physical recovery and mental regulation are addressed simultaneously. KeywordsSwimming Therapy, Alternative Treatment, Health Conditions, Hydrotherapy, Rehabilitation Exercise
