Abstract

This study is motivated by the demands of 21st-century learning which requires the integration of digital technology to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in elementary schools. Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in the Merdeka Curriculum is expected to encourage students to think critically, solve problems, and actively participate in learning activities. However, based on observations and interviews conducted in several elementary schools in Region II of Lubuk Kilangan District, Padang City, it was found that learning activities were still dominated by conventional teaching methods and printed worksheets, resulting in limited student engagement. In addition, the use of digital technology in learning has not been systematically integrated with innovative learning models such as Problem Based Learning (PBL). Therefore, this study aims to develop an electronic student worksheet (E-LKPD) assisted by the Wordwall media using the Problem Based Learning model in IPAS learning for fourth-grade elementary school students. The developed E-LKPD is designed to facilitate students in identifying problems, conducting investigations, collaborating in discussions, and presenting solutions systematically through interactive digital activities. Wordwall is utilized to provide educational games and interactive learning activities that can enhance students’ motivation and engagement in the learning process. By integrating the PBL model with Wordwall media, the developed E-LKPD is expected to become an innovative learning medium that supports more effective IPAS learning, improves students’ critical thinking skills, and encourages active participation in classroom activities. The results of this development are expected to serve as an alternative digital learning medium that is practical, engaging, and relevant to the needs of learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This study is geared toward designing and developing flashcard-based instructional media for Pancasila Education in Grade V elementary schools within Region II, Pauh District, Padang City, ensuring the final product meets high standards of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The investigation was prompted by a noticeable scarcity of contemporary learning media in the classroom; instructional practices heavily leaned on printed textbooks and basic materials, which frequently led to uninspiring and conventional learning experiences. Operating within a Research and Development (R&D) framework, this project adopted the systematic ADDIE model, encompassing Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. The participants involved three subject-matter, linguistic, and technical media experts for validation, three fifth-grade classroom teachers, and 58 primary students enrolled across SDN 15 Ulu Gadut, SDN 17 Jawa Gadut, and SDN 18 Koto Luar. Data gathering relied on expert validation rubrics, teacher-student feedback questionnaires, and learning outcome assessments (pre-test and post-test), which were subsequently interpreted using the N-Gain technique. The empirical findings indicated that the developed flashcards attained an aggregate validity score of 92.9% ("Very Valid"), derived from material content alignment (90%), language appropriateness (96.7%), and interface media design (92%). Practicality benchmarks yielded an average rating of 90% from educators and 89.53% from student responses, placing both indicators within the "Very Practical" designation. Additionally, pedagogical effectiveness was highlighted by a mean N-Gain index of 0.74 ("Very Effective"), demonstrating a profound increase from an initial pre-test average of 49.62 to a post-test average of 85.59. Consequently, this flashcard instructional media is verified as viable and strongly advocated as an innovative learning tool tailored to modern elementary settings under the Merdeka Curriculum paradigm.

Abstract

This classroom action research stemmed from the unsatisfactory achievement of fourth-grade students in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) at SDN 31 Muaro. Several issues were observed, including minimal student engagement during lessons, weak participation in group discussions, and outcomes in the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects that fell short of expectations. Furthermore, instruction remained teacher-dominated, which restricted opportunities for students to interact, cooperate, and build critical-thinking skills. The purpose of this research was to enhance students' IPAS achievement through the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type of Cooperative Learning model. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design combining qualitative and quantitative approaches was applied across two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Participants consisted of a classroom teacher, a peer observer, and 25 fourth-grade students at SDN 31 Muaro. Data were gathered using observation, testing, and non-test instruments, then examined through both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Findings revealed that the Deep Learning Lesson Plan (RPM) quality rose from 92.85 in Cycle I to 94.26 in Cycle II. Teacher performance increased from 82.14 to 96.42, and student engagement likewise rose from 82.14 to 96.42. Learning outcomes across all domains improved as well: affective scores climbed from 71.50 to 87.25, cognitive scores rose from 74.40 (64% classical mastery) to 79.80 (88% classical mastery), and psychomotor scores increased from 79.66 to 88.33. These findings confirm that applying the TGT-type Cooperative Learning model effectively enhanced IPAS learning outcomes among fourth-grade students at SDN 31 Muaro.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 07 Koto Balingka, West Pasaman Regency. Preliminary data showed that only 10 of 19 students (52.6%) achieved the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 75, while 9 students (47.3%) had not reached mastery. This condition was caused by the suboptimal use of learning media, teacher-centered instruction, and low student involvement in the learning process. This study aimed to describe the improvement of IPAS learning outcomes through the use of Pop-Up Book media combined with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, covering lesson planning, implementation, and student learning outcomes. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles; Cycle I consisted of two meetings (June 11 and 15, 2026) and Cycle II consisted of one meeting (June 18, 2026). The subjects were 19 fifth-grade students in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through interviews, observation, tests, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed: (1) lesson planning was developed as a teaching module aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum; (2) learning implementation improved, shown by average teacher activity from 76.78% (Good) in Cycle I to 89.28% (Very Good) in Cycle II; and (3) student learning outcomes improved in knowledge, attitude, and skill aspects, with the average knowledge score rising from 77.37 (classical mastery 73.65%) in Cycle I to 82.10 (classical mastery 84.2%) in Cycle II. Thus, the use of Pop-Up Book media through the Problem Based Learning model can improve the IPAS learning outcomes of fifth-grade students.
