Abstract

Ki Hajar Dewantara's concept of education can still be applied, but adjustments are needed to current developments. Education that is national in nature and nationalism is always needed to educate the independent spirit of the nation's children to be able to maintain unity and integrity and always love their homeland so that they are able to think and behave independently for the progress of the nation. The cultural approach taken by the teacher is the uniqueness of Ki Hajar Dewantara's concept of education in early childhood. In addition, the application of  Ki Hajar Dewantara's educational concept related to the provision of learning activities that can develop children's senses in Taman Indria Ibu Pawiyatan Yogyakarta and Taman Indria Jakarta, is quite good. The arts, which are placed in the Tamansiswa 'Pancadharma' circle, are also used in education in Indonesia, because the arts used as an educational tool in Tamansiswa are intended to influence the development of children's souls towards beauty in particular, but beauty in its series with nobleness and subtlety, so that it is suitable for civilised and cultured human life. Art also needs to be based on national life in a broad sense, not against humanity and not against the law.

Abstract

Early childhood education plays an important role as a basis for character formation and the development of children's knowledge, abilities and skills. One of the characters that influences the development of early childhood is independence. Independence is a behavior characterized by self-confidence, the ability to take the initiative, the ability to overcome problems or obstacles faced and do something independently without the help of others. Independence in everyday life means being able to stand alone without relying on others. However, in reality in the field, many early childhood children are still found to be not independent in doing something, this can be seen from the attitudes and behavior displayed by children in the form of children who find it difficult to adapt to the environment, have a rigid personality, children tend to be unconfident and unable to complete their life tasks well. So it is important to foster independence in children from an early age, by using the Montessori method which allows children to develop at their own pace. This method gives children the freedom to choose the activities they want, so they can learn and play according to their interests. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting a literature review on the application of the Montessori method in the formation of independent character in early childhood. Literature review conducted by researchers using publications from 2019-2024 which can be accessed in full text in pdf format and scholarly (peer reviewed journals) using google schoolar, so that 10 articles were found that had been screened according to the discussion of the article raised.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services using motivational interviewing (MI) techniques in increasing student learning motivation at the Mawaridussalam Islamic boarding school. This research uses a quantitative approach with pre-experimental methods. This research uses a one group pretest-posttest design (One Group Pretest-Posttest). Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical methods. The subjects of this research were 8 students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Research data was collected using a learning motivation scale. The results of the Hypothesis Test analysis (t test) show a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001<0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in students' learning motivation before and after being given treatment in the form of group counseling services using motivational interviewing (MI) techniques. Because the t-test value of P<0.05 is (0.001<05), the findings show that the use of group counseling services with motivational interviewing (MI) techniques in increasing students' learning motivation has a significant effect.

Abstract

Education in the family is the main foundation for the formation of children's character and intelligence. This article discusses the application of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's educational methods in the family context, emphasizing the importance of the role of parents as primary educators. The family environment is the initial educational environment for every individual because that is where the first education provided by parents, whose position as teacher (guide), lecturer and work leader (example), is very relevant for creating a conducive learning environment at home. Instilling moral and ethical values, direct experience-based learning, and developing children's creativity and independence are methods that can be applied by parents. This article also identifies the challenges families face in the modern era and offers practical solutions to overcome these challenges. With a better understanding of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's educational concept, it is hoped that families can educate their children to become individuals with integrity, intelligence and noble character.
