Abstract

This community service focused on strengthening the Islamic character education of Muslim children within Japanese families through a series of highly interactive activities. The program was structured around practical engagement, including seminars, communal prayers, and targeted Quran recitation sessions. These components were specifically designed to deepen the children's grasp of core Islamic values and actively cultivate their religious practices. The results following the program were noteworthy. Data indicated a significant boost in the participants’ understanding of Islamic character, marked by a 30% increase in comprehension. Furthermore, there was a 25% rise in their active engagement with religious practices. Beyond the statistical improvements, a crucial, lasting outcome was the successful establishment of a supportive community network. This network now provides a vital lifeline for Muslim families in Japan, helping them navigate their daily lives while securely maintaining their cultural and religious identity. This program's success underscores its critical importance for ensuring the continued development of Islamic character among the younger generation in Japan, directly addressing the unique cultural and societal challenges they face. The findings strongly affirm that interactive and hands-on methods are essential for effective character education, pointing to a clear need for sustained support and the expansion of similar programs to benefit more Muslim families across the country.

Abstract

Gender equality is a fundamental principle that emphasizes individuals' equal rights regardless of sex. However, in reality, the issues of equality are not yet fully understood or implemented by Indonesian society and need to be addressed wisely. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method with a literature review. The data collection method was obtained through 1 book reference and 10 scientific journals, as well as other documents relevant to the discussion of this study. The nature of this literature review research involves systematically presenting the collected data and providing detailed explanations to readers to enhance understanding. The findings of this study suggest that one of the methods to achieve gender equality is through guidance from education so that it can be applied in society. Education serves as the main facilitator and provides fundamental values to help reduce the traces of gender inequality, especially among adolescents. Because during this period, they are easily influenced by negative things that can affect their behavior towards gender equality. Education is not only obtained in the school environment; the family scope is also one of the means to gain new knowledge about the importance of gender equality. Therefore, with proper education, it will shape teenagers' mindsets to be able to become positive agents of change who have an impact on society.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of the role of educational sociology in improving the professionalism of Islamic Education Teachers (PAI) amid globalization. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach. The results show that by understanding educational sociology, PAI teachers can be more sensitive to the social and cultural backgrounds of their students. This makes the learning process more meaningful and tailored to the needs of students. In this ever-changing era, the professionalism of PAI teachers is not enough to just master religious material. They also need to have the ability to adapt to social and technological developments. Therefore, combining sociological insights with Islamic values is key in shaping PAI teachers who are not only professional, but also responsive to the challenges of the times and the needs of students.

Abstract

Society is a group of individuals from various backgrounds who live together under shared norms and binding rules. In social life, differences in economic, political, and cultural aspects give rise to unavoidable social stratification. This phenomenon leads to competition among individuals to obtain social status. From an Islamic perspective, all humans are created by Allah SWT with equal dignity and status. However, in reality, social inequality still exists and needs to be examined from the perspective of Islamic education. Islamic education plays a crucial role in instilling the values of equality, justice, and humanity, as well as serving as a means to mitigate the negative impacts of social stratification. This study employs a qualitative research method with a literature review approach. Social stratification refers to the hierarchical layering of society based on power, wealth, honor, and knowledge, which forms upper, middle, and lower classes. Education is a significant factor in shaping social stratification. In Islam, there is no concept of social stratification, as Islam emphasizes that all humans are equal, and the only distinction among them lies in their level of piety. Islamic education does not view humans merely from a physical perspective but also from a spiritual dimension, through which Islamic teachings shape both individual piety and social morality.

Abstract

Technological developments and advances in today's world come with various negative effects, one of which is a decline in student morality that has a negative impact on both personal life and society as a whole. Morality is a principle or standard of behavior used to distinguish between actions that are considered right and wrong from an individual and societal perspective. Education plays a major role in developing students' character, skills, and knowledge. Schools provide opportunities for students to face various challenges in their lives. In this case, the role of teachers is crucial in instilling moral values in students. Teachers are not only tasked with delivering learning materials, but also serve as role models who motivate and guide students through examples of good and proper behavior in accordance with applicable norms. In addition to the role of schools, the contribution of families is also very significant in shaping children's morality. Parents have a responsibility to accompany their children's development from an early age, which is very important for their future and education, as childhood is the most vital time because it forms the foundation of their personality, which can influence their future experiences.

Abstract

Gender equality is one of the main pillars of sustainable development, especially in developing countries like Indonesia recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. This article examines the role of education in promoting gender equality post-pandemic through literature analysis and current empirical data. Education is considered a key instrument to change social norms, increase access to economic opportunities, and reduce gender stereotypes exacerbated by remote learning during the pandemic. Based on a review of Indonesia's education policies, such as the 2013 Curriculum and post-COVID education recovery programs, education can facilitate women's participation in STEM fields and leadership. However, challenges such as increased domestic burdens on women and digital divides remain obstacles. This article recommends strengthening inclusive curricula, equitable technology access, and teacher training to promote broader gender equality in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought about significant transformations in the dynamics of social mobility in Indonesia. Digitalization not only creates new opportunities for improving social status through access to education, employment, and the digital economy, but also presents structural challenges that widen the social gap between groups with high digital literacy and those left behind. This phenomenon demands a critical analysis of how digital technology becomes an instrument for vertical and horizontal social mobility, and the extent to which public policy is able to accommodate the resulting social changes. Through theoretical and empirical studies, this research aims to identify opportunities and obstacles in utilizing digital technology as a means of social mobility in Indonesia, taking into account aspects of education, the economy, and social equality.

Abstract

Islamic education that contributes to building a generation that is intellectually sound and morally upright. In a world of constant social evolution, teachers also use Islamic education to inculcate moral values in their students, such as honesty, empathy, discipline, and civic responsibility. That is to say, teachers are not merely “learned” individuals, but role models who guide students on how to live religiously and apply faith in everyday life. By upholding these values consistently, it fosters good social conduct and facilitates integration into a better society. Islamic education plays a role in mediating between sublime spiritual and moral values on the one hand, and challenging real social situations on the other. The quality of this process depends greatly on the relationship formed between teacher and student. Through content that is relevant and contextual, Islamic education produces generations that are socially conscious, responsible, and capable of acting as agents of social change. This research seeks to explore from a sociological perspective how Islamic education, particularly through the role of teachers in schools, can influence students’ moral character and contribute to broader social transformation.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine how social affects the socialization process of adolescent in the contemporary digital age. The rapid advancement of information technology has transformed patterns of social communication, especially among teenagers who are active social media users. This research employs a library research method by reviewing relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that social media exerts a dual influence on adolescent socialization. Positively, it expands social networks, enhances creativity, and serves as a medium for learning and character development. Conversely, excessive use may lead to psychological disorders, reduced face-to-face interactions, and deviant behaviors such as cyberbullying and hedonism. Efforts to optimize adolescent socialization in the digital era can be achieved through parental supervision, digital literacy education in schools, and the cultivation of responsible online ethics.
