Abstract

This research is aimed to describe students’ problem solving skill in mathematics learning using abductive-deductive strategy. This research is descriptive research with 30 students of X.3 class at SMAN 1 Indralaya Utara as the subject. Learning process accords to characteristic and steps of abductive-deductive strategy in mathematics learning. The technique for collecting data is a test which includes of three problems. According to the results of research, it is obtained that representation of students’ problem solving skill in mathematics learning using abductive-deductive strategy on X.3 class at SMAN 1 Indralaya Utara is medium with these details: 2 students have very high problem solving skill or the percentage is 6,67%, 12 students have high problem solving skill or the percentage is 40%, 11 students have medium problem solving skill or the percentage 36,67%, and 5 students have low problem solving skill or the percentage is 16,67% and 0% or nothing who have problem solving skill with category very low. Furthermore, the understanding problem indicator has the highest percentage at 89,63%. Indicator of making a plan has the percentage at 63,7%, indicator of carrying out the plan has the percentage at 45,56%, and the looking back indicator has the lowest percentage at 16,11%.

The research aims to produce a valid and practical LKS based on discovery learning model and also having potential effect. This type of research is Development Study of Design Research. The subject of this research were the first year students of SMP Negeri 7 Prabumulih academic year 2015/2016. The technic of collecting data have done with walkthrough, test, observation, and interview. The result of this research was produce two LKS that valid and practical based on discovery learning model with characteristic (1) Contain stages of discovery learning model, (2) Assist students in finding concepts on the subject of the angle, (3) make students being actively in learning process .Valid can be seen from the result of validator assessment where the validator comment on the first prototype of LKS from content, construct, and language perspective. Practical can be seen from the result of small group try out, which is based on  analysis of the answer sheets of students found that students are able to complete each stage there, and based on coment sheet of students found that LKS given were easy to used and understanded by students.  This devoloved  LKS which based on discovery learning model also have the potential effect toward result study. The result study from this research consisted of cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. In the cognitive domain, 91,66% of students got score more than 6,25, in the affective domain, all students have demonstrated a responsible attitude and respect that seen from the observation during LKS usage, and the psychomotor domain, all of students have been skilled that seen from the result of students performance.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of lottery coupons can help students find the concept of probability for class VII. Design Research had chose as a kind of research to achieve the goal. In this reseacrh, a series of learning activities designed and developed based on the hypothesis of the learning process of students. Learning approach used, that is, PMRI approach by involving 32 students of class VII MTs Campang Tiga. This research result Learning trajectory (LT), which contains a series of learning processes in the two activities, that is, understand the concept of sample space, sample point and the event occurrence. Results of the experiments show that with the approach of learning PMRI can define the concept of sample space and sample points and probabilities of an event by taking the lottery tickets. With the line of learning from taking lottery tickets, determine the sample space and sample point and determine the probability of occurrence can improve comprehension, reasoning students on the matters of probability.

Abstract

This research is the kind of design research that has purpose to produce learning path at netto, bruto, tara in seventh grade of junior high school using snack’s context. In this research there are learning instruction series which is designed and developed according to the learning activities assumption that used is Pendidikan Matematika realistik Indonesia (PMRI). This research was done by 22 Junior High School students at VII grade as a research’s subject by producing learning trajectory (LT) that will help the student to find out netto, bruto, tara by the using of activity series at learning process. At the informal stage, as the beginning activity, researcher serves several snacks that will be measured by the student. Next at the preformal stage, student will start to find the common from the activity that they had done. After that student will be able to change to the mathematic sentence as model of. The next stage is model for where student could find the netto, bruto, tara formula so at the formal stage student able to solve the questions that relate to the daily life.

Abstract

The information and communication technology (ICT) has been used as amedium of learning. The conventional method is still monotonous and rigid. Therefore, students and lecturer can take advantage of e-learning in the learningprocess. Hence, this study in the course of English for Mathematics aims todevelop teaching materials with an integration of ICT: online discussions, learning videos, access to online materials, and online quiz. The findings showthat the instructional videos that were developed by lecturers were easy to deliverto the students by this e-learning process. The students might watch the videobefore the class then discuss and share the new knowledge in discussion forum.Furthermore, this ICT based learning facilitated the lecturers to assess students’online activities: like forum discussions, exercises, and developed quiz withoutbeing limited by space and time.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a Algebra question book for high schoolmathematics olympiad training that valid. This research is a development researchconsists of two stages: a preliminary stage includes the analysis and design andformative evaluation in this case just include self- evaluation , expert review, andone - to-one ,that we discuss in this paper. Question book, in the beginning wasreviewed by expert in Expert Review stage, and get comment by colleague to seehow validity the book is. After that, Question book was revised based on commentand review by validator . In One-to-one stage, Question book tested to two studentwho have average ability and high ability to know about how usage the questionbook is. Result of one-to-one stage is student’s answer, observation data, andinterview response that use to revise Question book. From these results it can beconcluded that Algebra Question book for high school mathematics olympiadtraining that develop is valid.

Abstract

Ethnomathematic is one of mathematics learning innovations which integrate cultures to preserve local cultural values. A treasure quest at Musi River Palembang is included as a culture because it is the community activity with its unique characteristic carried out at Musi River to meet the necessities of life, and is passed down from one generation to the next generation. The research aims to explain aspects of mathematical computation to treasure quest at Musi River Palembang. A literature study is a method used in this research. Firstly, formulating research problem was how the mathematical aspects connect to the finding of treasure quest at Musi River Palembang. Then, literature related to the problem of the study was reviewed. The next step was evaluating data based on the literature to answer the research problem. After that, data analysis was conducted. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. Lastly, the data was interpreted to obtain a conclusion. The interpretation showed that the treasure quest at Musi River had mathematical counting aspects namely, counting the number of human resources in a treasure quest group; counting the wages for each person in the team based on his or her duties; counting expenses required for a treasure quest; counting the number of objects obtained, and determining the sale price of the objects. The activity also contained a mathematical concept in the mathematics learning of some subjects at VII grade of junior high school level namely, the operation of the material count, social arithmetic, and sets
