Abstract

One of the responsibilities a lecturer should concern while teaching the students is to create a communicative environment, instead of worrying about the process of teaching and put no regard on the students’ language ability. This research aimed to find out the kinds of strategy in teaching speaking of English Education Study Program and to know the application of those strategies in the classroom. The research designed in this study was a descriptive qualitative to describe the status of things in the present or in the past. It meant that the data gathered were not analyzed in term of number statistical accounting but were analyzed in the qualitative form which is more than more numbers or frequencies. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the most lecturers’ teaching strategy that used in teaching speaking are using recording & transcripts, dialogues, discussion, classroom conversation, and casual chat. Lecturers’ used that technique because it is based on the handbook and it is easy to practice. Some other strategy sometimes used by lecturers’, but the frequency is very rare. The most used are dialogues and conversation and chat and jokes. Based on the discussion, most students like the strategy that used by the teacher. They followed lecturers’ instruction.

Abstract

Mangkunegaran Temple and Surakarta Kasunanan Palace as Historical Education Tourism Facilities This article discusses Pura Mangkunegaran and Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta as historical education tourism destinations in Surakarta City. In this activity, a qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The keraton, which serves as the residence of the king and the center of government, holds significant historical value. The results show that both keraton have museums that are highly potential as historical education tourism attractions. Additionally, each keraton has its own unique characteristics that can serve as an attraction for visitors. Overall, the activity concludes that historical education tourism aims to enrich visitors' knowledge and understanding of history. Surakarta City, with Pura Mangkunegaran and Keraton Kasunanan, offers two complementary historical education tourism destinations, with similarities and differences related to their origins, royal titles, and the historical collections housed in the museums..

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi digital guru masih kurang, khususnya dalam memanfaatkan platform pembelajaran belum maksimal dan kreatif. Tujuan dari pelatihan adalah untuk meningkatkan literasi digital, khususnya dalam pengoperasian aplikasi canva sebagai media pembelajaran di kelas, untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran lebih interaktif. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pelatihan menggunakan pendekatan klasikal dengan metode ceramah, praktek dan pemberian tugas. Evaluasi mengukur keberhasilan pelatihan menggunakan lembar observasi dan rubrik penilaian. Hasil yang telah dicapai melalui pelatihan ini pertama, peningkatan kemampuan literasi digital guru cukup baik, yang terdiri dari aspek; kemampuan melakukan pencarian sumber di internet 85%, kemampuan menggunakan hypertext, hyperlink, 73%, kemampuan menggunakan aplikasi 70%, kemampuan berkomunikasi menggunakan teknologi digital, 83%). Kedua, kreativitas dalam menggunakan teknologi digital seperti membuat media ajar sangat baik, 80%. Simpulan dari pelatihan ini berhasil dengan baik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi digital para guru dengan rata- rata keberhasilan 78,2%. Implikasi dari pelatihan ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan dan kreatifitas guru -guru dalam merancang dan menggunakan aplikasi Canva untuk menciptakan pembelajaran lebih interaktif.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan  kepada guru-guru sekolah dasar dalam menyusun instrumen asesmen pembelajaran berbasis proyek agar dapat diimplementasikan  dalam kegiatan pembelajaran baik secara daring maupun luring. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di kecamatan Simo Boyolali melibatkan guru-guru Sekolah Dasar dan kepala sekolah beserta anggota tim pengabdian. Metode yang digunakan antara lain: ceramah menjelaskan konsep-konsep asesmen dan tahapan menyusun instrumen asesmen berbasis proyek, tanya jawab, diskusi kelompok, praktek  membuat instrumen, dan persentasi. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan antara lain tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan peningkatan kemampuan guru guru menyusun instrumen asesmen berbasis proyek sangat baik ada peningkatan 13.15% dari sebelum diadakan pelatihan dengan setelah diadakan pelatihan dan  tingkat partisipasi guru-guru mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan secara keseluruhan cukup baik, 70% peserta pelatihan berpartisipasi dengan baik dalam mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) melalui pendekatan bibliometrik lintas negara selama periode 2014-2024. Dengan menggunakan data dari database Scopus, penelitian ini mengkaji tren publikasi, pola kolaborasi, dan perkembangan topik penelitian terkait GLS. Metodologi penelitian melibatkan analisis bibliometrik dengan fokus pada tiga aspek: (1) analisis tren publikasi dan penulis produktif, (2) pola kolaborasi antara penulis, institusi, dan negara, serta (3) analisis co-occurrence kata kunci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam jumlah publikasi GLS, terutama sejak 2020, dengan Amerika Serikat dan Indonesia sebagai kontributor utama. Pola kolaborasi menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan produktivitas antar negara namun juga mengindikasikan munculnya hub penelitian baru di negara berkembang. Analisis kata kunci mengungkapkan pergeseran fokus dari literasi tradisional menuju literasi digital dan teknologi. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting bagi pengembangan kebijakan dan praktik GLS, serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk penelitian masa depan dalam bidang literasi sekolah.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of technology in the national examination system in Malaysia and Indonesia, focusing on comparing the use of technology and its implications. The research method uses comparative analysis based on secondary data from various reliable sources. The data were analyzed regarding six indicators: the rate of adoption of computer-based technology, the rate of adoption of online exams, the efficiency of exam implementation, the availability of infrastructure, the use of software, and technical readiness. The results showed significant differences in the rate of adoption and utilization of technology in the national exams in the two countries. Malaysia is more advanced in adopting technology with computer-based and online exams, while Indonesia still struggles to equalize the necessary infrastructure. The use of technology in the national exams in Malaysia has increased efficiency and accuracy, while in Indonesia, limited infrastructure is an obstacle. This research concludes that technology can improve the quality and efficiency of national exams. Still, technical and infrastructural challenges need to be overcome so that the benefits of technology can be felt equally in both countries.

Abstract

The teacher is one of the factors that determine the success of education. Honorary teachers are a reality in Indonesia's education sector, including in public elementary schools. This research explores the meaning related to the recruitment of honorary teachers in public elementary schools. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The data in this study are transcripts of in-depth interviews with informants. Fourteen informants in this study comprised twelve honorary elementary school teachers and two school principals. There are three stages of data analysis data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research found that public elementary school s employ honorary teachers to address teacher shortages. Each honorary teacher has their own reasons for registering as an honorary teacher, such as job opportunities, bringing happiness to their parents, and a sense of dedication. Public elementary schools can recruit honorary teachers even if they do not have a PGSD degree. The implications of this research are related to meeting the needs of teachers in public elementary schools, increasing the welfare of honorary teachers, and teacher recruitment that takes into account the suitability of educational qualifications.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) in shaping students' reading habits and literacy culture in primary education, particularly in rural elementary schools. Methodology: A qualitative evaluation approach was used, adopting the Kaufman five-level evaluation model. Data were gathered through observation, structured interviews, and documentation across six elementary schools in the Sudirman cluster, Wonogiri District, using triangulation and interactive data analysis. Main Findings: The study finds that the effectiveness of GLS implementation is closely linked to leadership commitment, teacher involvement, student participation, and documentation systems. Schools with structured routines, contextual innovation, and community support show stronger outcomes in reading habits, student expression, and collaborative literacy culture. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study uniquely applies Kaufman's evaluation model in a rural education setting, capturing not only program performance but also the integration of literacy into school routines and culture. It presents a contextualized analysis of GLS, offering a practical framework for policy refinement and school-based literacy development.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the effect of Thinking Actively in a Social Context, Creative Problem Solving, and Direct Instruction learning models on students' divergent thinking skills. The quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method was used as the research approach. The research subjects include the fifth-grade students at the public elementary schools in Laweyan District, Surakarta, Indonesia. The data were collected using test and non-test techniques. They were then analyzed using the prerequisite test, hypothesis test and multiple-comparison test. The results show that the learning model has an effect on divergent thinking skills. The selection of TASC and CPS learning models has an effect on the students activeness in learning, so teachers can consider these models to be applied in learning with integrated thematic teaching materials in the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi atau penerapan budaya literasi di SD Negeri 1 Demangan melalui pemanfaatan majalah dinding. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, yang berusaha menggambarkan bagaimana budaya literasi ini dapat dibangun dengan memanfaatkan keberadaan majalah dinding sekolah, pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kondisi dalam peserta didik di SD Negeri 1 Demangan Klaten, Adanya majalah dinding dapat membantu peserta didik mengembangkan kemampuannya kepada peserta didik yang lain serta dapat memotivasi peserta didik yang lain untuk selalu berkreativitas. Selain itu, majalah dinding memungkinkan peserta didik menghabiskan waktu sebanyak mungkin untuk membaca serta membuat karya yang akan dite,pelkan pada majalah dinding sekolah. Ketika hasil karya peserta didik yang ada di mading terbaca oleh peserta didik yang lain, maka peserta didik yang membuat karya menjadi percaya diri. peserta didik di SD Negeeri 1 Demangan terlihat mempunyai semanagt dalam menggunakan majalah dinding sekolah. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari antusiasme seluruh peserta didik ketika membuat karya serta menempelkan ke majalah dinding yang ada di dinding sekolah yang sudah mulai terlihat
