Abstract

This research is driven by the "knowledge-behavior gap" among students at MI Baipas Malang, where high environmental knowledge does not translate into real-world action. The study aims to conduct a need assessment for developing multimedia based on Ethno-Socioscientific Issues (Ethno-SSI) to enhance students' environmental awareness. Adopting the Analysis phase of the Lee and Owens model, this qualitative descriptive study used student questionnaires and teacher interviews. Findings show that students are visual-digital learners who require interactive content linked to Malang’s local wisdom, such as water spring preservation (punden). Although school technology is supportive, current materials lack socioscientific dilemmas to trigger critical thinking. In conclusion, developing Ethno-SSI multimedia is urgently needed to bridge the gap between understanding and action through cultural relevance and digital technology. This analysis serves as the foundation for the upcoming design and implementation stages. Key Words: Need analysis; Ethno-Socioscientific Issues; Multimedia; Environmental Awareness;

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic ecotheological values on students’ ecological awareness in fiqh learning at MAN 4 Pekanbaru City. The ecological crisis occurring today indicates the low level of environmental awareness among society, including students in Islamic educational institutions. In fiqh learning, ecological values are often taught theoretically and have not been fully integrated into students’ daily behavior. This research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. The sample consisted of 120 students selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The variables examined in this study were Islamic ecotheological values as the independent variable and students’ ecological awareness as the dependent variable. The findings revealed that Islamic ecotheological values have a positive and significant effect on students’ ecological awareness, with a p-value of 0.032 (< 0.05). The results indicate that the internalization of Islamic values such as khalīfah fī al-ardh, amanah, mīzān, and the prohibition of environmental destruction contributes significantly to the development of students’ ecological behavior. Furthermore, fiqh learning integrated with Islamic ecotheological values encourages students to conserve water, maintain cleanliness, manage waste responsibly, and demonstrate greater concern for environmental sustainability. Therefore, integrating Islamic ecotheology into fiqh learning can serve as an effective strategy for strengthening ecological awareness and environmental responsibility among madrasah students. Abstract

This study aims to analyze and measure the influence of Islamic values-based Human Resource Management (HRM) and teacher certification on the quality of education at MAN 2 Parepare City. Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population was all 69 educators at MAN 2 Parepare, with a sample of 65 certified teachers taken using a census technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, linearity, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity), and multiple linear regression analysis. Results: The results showed that partially, Islamic values-based HRM had a positive and significant effect on the quality of education with t-count (4.596) > t-table (1.66980) and significance 0.000 < 0.05. Teacher certification also had a positive and significant effect with t-count (3.458) > t-table and significance 0.001 < 0.05. Simultaneously, both variables had a positive and significant effect on the quality of education with F-count (37.894) > F-table (3.15) and significance 0.000. The R Square value was 0.550, indicating that both variables explained 55% of the variation in education quality. Novelty: This research integrates Islamic values-based HRM and teacher certification in a single model, which has never been done in previous studies that examined both variables separately.

Abstract

Schools increasingly compete for enrollment, reputation, and public trust, yet whether an environmental program can function as a strategic resource for building competitive advantage remains underexamined in the madrasah context. This study analyzes how the Green School program at MTs Negeri 3 Pamekasan, developed through the Educotourism School concept, builds sustainable competitive advantage across three foci: the underlying concept, the implementation strategy, and the contribution to institutional standing. A qualitative single case study design was employed, drawing on purposive sampling across four informant categories, in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentary review, analyzed through thematic analysis with source and technique triangulation. Findings show the program integrates education, ecology, and tourism into one coherent system, implemented through six connected components spanning policy, curriculum, and community partnership, and contributing to institutional reputation, academic achievement, and local economic empowerment. Read through the resource-based view, the program satisfies the VRIN criteria through resources embedded in a specific geography and decades of village trust that competitors cannot relocate or purchase. The study carries direct implications for educational management: school leaders seeking durable competitive advantage should treat environmental programs as strategic investments rather than compliance exercises, and should deliberately cultivate relational resources with surrounding communities alongside internal policy and curriculum development.

Abstract

The quality of learning can be realized if the learning planning is clear and mature. To achieve this, strategic planning is important to be carried out. Strategic planning serves as a foundation or reference for determining policy directions, program formulation, and activity implementation to ensure that learning objectives are clear and measurable. One of the methods that can be used to formulate and select appropriate strategies is the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) analysis method. The QSPM analysis method makes it easier for school managers in decisions. This article aims to analyze in depth how decision-making in sustainable educational strategic planning can be conducted using the QSPM method. This article uses a library research approach. This study integrates conceptual and practical approaches to the QSPM method in strategic planning to improve the quality of learning, which includes an analysis of internal and external learning factors, development of EFE, IFE, and SWOT matrices. The main focus is directed towards the analytical ability of QSPM in selecting the best strategy to enhance the quality of learning.   Keywords: Strategic Planning, QSPM, Quality of Learning

Abstract

Educational planning is a strategic process influenced by various interrelated internal and external factors. This study aims to analyze how political, national identity, economic, religious, and science and technology (S&T) factors have a positive impact as well as pose challenges to the development of education in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, namely by examining books, national and international journals, and relevant previous studies. The results of the study show that politics plays a dominant role in directing education policy, but overly dynamic policy changes often lead to inconsistencies. National identity has proven to be important in shaping the character and identity of students through the internalization of national values. Economic factors are a major determinant of the quality and equity of education, while religion provides a moral foundation for the formation of students' personalities. Meanwhile, advances in science and technology encourage learning innovation, but also present challenges in the form of the digital divide and infrastructure limitations. Overall, this study concludes that effective educational planning must consider all these factors in an integrated manner so that the education system can develop in a sustainable, relevant, and adaptive manner in response to changing times.
