Abstract

This research directs history teachers to utilize local history learning resources related to historical material, specifically in the Muaraenim Regency. The methods used are lectures, questions, and answers or discussions, as well as working on pre-test and post-test questions. The results of the socialization show that history teachers who have participated in PKM activities have been given direction in utilizing past relics with local historical nuances. History teachers can relate historical material to the context of the material being taught by involving local history in their area. Like the use of history in Muaraenim Regency, the existence of the Bumiayu Temple Site can be used as a source of historical learning, because it has historical values. Efforts to learn local history are used to instill a sense of love for the surrounding area.

Data collection was obtained through a literature study by looking for references related to this research. After the data has been collected, an analysis is carried out including the stages of verification, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study indicate that Islamization channels in the South Sumatra region, especially Palembang, include: trade, marriage, Sufism, politics and education. Trade is the channel of the earliest Islamization carried out. This was very possible because along with the busy trade traffic in Palembang from the 7th to the 16th century AD, so that there were marriages between Muslim merchants and local residents. The next channel of Islamization in Palembang is through Sufism. Sufism in Palembang is also a media that plays a role in shaping the social life of Palembang people. This is proven by the existence of texts of Sufism teachings. In the political field, the Islamization of the power elite occurred, where marriages between Arabs and the children of local authorities took place for political purposes. Meanwhile, in the field of education during the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate, Islamic development occurred in the field of science. As a center for the study of religion and literature, the activities of religious studies are quite developed and advanced. Religious educational institutions are managed by religious bureaucrats through recitation at mosques and at the homes of religious officials. Abstract

In New Zealand, science education is also tailored to the local context and Maori culture, which provides an additional dimension to science learning in primary school. On the other hand, Indonesia has a different approach to science education in elementary schools. The purpose of this study is to understand the differences in science education approaches in New Zealand and Indonesia and their implications for student learning outcomes in elementary schools. This study uses a comparative descriptive approach to evaluate the differences in the approach to science education in primary schools between New Zealand and Indonesia. The results of this study show that there are significant differences in the approach of science education in primary schools between New Zealand and Indonesia, which has an impact on students' learning outcomes and scientific understanding. New Zealand implements an inquiry-based learning approach supported by adequate laboratory facilities and a more ideal teacher-student ratio. This allows students to engage directly in experiments and observations, which helps them develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of science. In Indonesia, the science learning approach tends to focus on memorization and theory, with limited laboratory facilities and a large number of students per class, which limits the implementation of practice-based learning. As a result, Indonesian students have lower scientific comprehension scores, as seen in the PISA results. Differences in the quality of educational facilities, teaching methods, and time allocation for science learning in both countries are the main factors that affect student learning outcomes.

Abstract

In Indonesia, many elementary schools still rely on the Drill and Practice method, which focuses on repetitive exercises to strengthen students' basic mathematical skills. While effective for honing technical abilities like calculations and formula application, this method does not foster the development of complex critical and creative thinking. In contrast, China has adopted an Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) approach in mathematics education, which emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and exploration through questioning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of IBL in comparison to Drill and Practice, particularly in terms of its impact on student learning outcomes in both China and Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with experimental design, the study compares the implementation of IBL in China with the Drill and Practice method at Jakarta International School (JIS). The results show that IBL in China significantly enhances students' higher-order thinking skills, particularly in problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. Students in the IBL group in China demonstrated a greater improvement in their test scores compared to the control group at JIS. The post-test average for the IBL group in China was 85.5, while the JIS group only reached 67.8. Additionally, 75% of IBL students in China were able to apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations, compared to just 45% at JIS. Moreover, IBL students in China reported higher motivation and engagement, with 78% feeling more motivated to study, compared to only 50% at JIS. Furthermore, 72% of IBL students in China used multiple methods to solve problems, in contrast to 40% at JIS. Statistical analysis confirmed these findings, with a significant t-value of 4.35 and a p-value of 0.005, supporting the effectiveness of IBL in fostering critical thinking and creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Quizizz media in improving learning outcomes in Pancasila education subjects for class VB students at SD Negeri 47 Palembang, especially in the material on the application of Pancasila in everyday life. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. The subjects of the study were 30 class VB students, who were tested with a pretest before the implementation of Quizizz media and a posttest after cycle 1 and cycle 2. The pretest results showed that the average student score was 60 with 40% completion. After the implementation of Quizizz media in cycle 1, the average posttest score increased to 75 with 70% completion. In cycle 2, the average posttest score increased again to 85 with 90% completion. These findings indicate that the use of Quizizz media significantly improves students' understanding of Pancasila values and their application in everyday life. Therefore, it is suggested that this interactive media be applied in learning other subjects to improve students' motivation and learning outcomes. Thus, the study can conclude that this Quizizz educational game-based learning media not only makes it easier for teachers to deliver learning materials, but can also improve students' learning outcomes and their understanding in classroom learning for students.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach to improve student learning outcomes in Mathematics, specifically on division operations, in class IV A of SD Negeri 47 Palembang. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results show a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle phase, 62.5% of students had not achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). After implementing TaRL in the first cycle, the number of students who had not met the criteria decreased to 47%, and further dropped to 16% in the second cycle. Meanwhile, the percentage of students meeting the KKM increased from 37.5% in the pre-cycle to 53% in the first cycle and 84% in the second cycle. The implementation of the TaRL approach proved to be effective in enhancing students' understanding and learning outcomes, especially in mastering division operations.
