Abstract

The industrialization policies taken by the governments of developing countries are carried out for several reasons. First, developing countries usually always experience difficulties in their balance of payments, so import substitution is intended to reduce or save foreign exchange. Moreover, foreign exchange for developing countries is often a scarce factor, so choices must be made regarding its use. Third, it is related to the spirit of nationalism in a country, so that it adopts an industrialization policy with the aim of achieving independence in the economic sector. The industrialization strategy is based on efforts to substitute imports of goods and services, which essentially focuses on the large dependence of developing countries, especially on the production of goods and services in developed countries. As a result, many developing countries have chosen an export-oriented strategy for their industrial development. Nevertheless, import substitution industries still play an important role in industrial development for developing countries, especially in several manufacturing sectors. Several countries choose to use an import substitution industrial strategy in the early stages of industrialization, including Indonesia. The import substitution industry is still able to make an important contribution to economic growth in developing countries.

Abstract

In facing global market dynamics, companies tend to look for conglomeration or merger strategies to achieve greater economies of scale and increase their competitiveness. Conglomeration, mergers, and economies of scale are concepts related to industrial growth. Conglomeration refers to the merger of several companies operating in the same or related industries. A merger, on the other hand, is the merging of two different companies into one new entity. Economies of scale, in the growth stage of an industry, refer to the cost savings that occur when a company increases production by enlarging a factory.

Abstract

This research analyzes the unemployment rate in Indonesia and the impact of government policies on the national economy. Unemployment is a significant economic problem in Indonesia, with various factors influencing it, including population growth, structural economic changes, and technological changes. This study uses secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and various other sources to evaluate unemployment trends in recent decades. The results of the analysis show that the unemployment rate in Indonesia experiences fluctuations which are influenced by global economic conditions, government policies and the dynamics of the domestic labor market. Government policies, such as job training programs, increased infrastructure investment, and support for the MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) sector, have played an important role in reducing unemployment. However, challenges such as a mismatch of skills and labor market needs, as well as regional disparities, are still significant obstacles.

Abstract

One of the major breakthroughs in waste management in Indonesia is the waste bank program. Through this program, it is formed in people's minds that waste is something that is useless and is simply thrown away, converted into something that also has value and price. Through the waste bank, people can save waste, which can then generate money within a certain period of time. This research uses descriptive research methods with quantitative analysis. This study aims to find out how the impact of the waste bank program on the socio-economic community in Sememi Village, Benowo District, Surabaya City. Impact is defined as an influence that brings both positive and negative consequences. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that there was a positive impact on the socio-economic life of the people in Sememi Village, Benowo District after the construction of the Garbage Bank. This is indicated by an increase in people's income, although it is small, it provides significant benefits for the community. Not only income has increased, but health and better social interaction among people, most importantly, a cleaner environment has also increased from time to time.

Abstract

This research aims to increase knowledge and insight in the field of industrial economics and aims to analyze industrial competitive strategies in facing technological advances. The research method uses qualitative methods and library research. The data collection technique is to record important information in carrying out data analysis by means of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions to obtain conclusions. The results of the research show that Indonesia's industrial strategy is to be able to survive in competition and import substitution must be increased to meet the needs of a growing society. increasing even though industry can be one of the strategies in the industrial sector that can be developed in the future in an effort to realize Indonesia's economic growth.
