Abstract

The incidence of poverty in Indonesia has exhibited a marginal decrease, although it remains significantly distant from the desired objective and predominantly concentrated in rural regions. Efforts to reduce poverty should be optimized, particularly by prioritizing the economic empowerment of rural people and improving access to essential services. Poverty in Cianjur Regency, West Java Province, broadly impacted people's lives. Women in rural areas were a significantly affected group. It was among the five districts with the highest number of impoverished people in West Java. The study used secondary data analysis from 2005 to 2021 to understand poverty. This study employed a Concurrent Explanatory Design, which collected comprehensive interviews and statistical data. The researchers conducted interviews with the Head of the Neighborhood Association to gain insights into poverty at the local level. Additionally, they analyzed data from Statistics Indonesia on poverty, gender, and human development in Cianjur Regency from 2005 to 2021, spanning 16 years. The research sought to enhance comprehension of women's poverty in the region by integrating qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Human development index levels were low in Cianjur Regency due to poor development and limited gender empowerment. On average, women in the region had only 5.75 years of education, equivalent to the primary school level. The Family Life Education program was needed to empower families through education and training that suited their needs in addressing this issue. Thus, it was expected to reduce poverty and improve the condition of women in the Cianjur District.

Abstract

This study examines research trends in the philosophy of science within the educational context, focusing on its ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. Using a bibliometric approach, 868 academic publications from 2010 to 2024 were analyzed, sourced from Scopus and Google Scholar with keywords such as “Philosophy of Science in Education” and “Educational Philosophy and Knowledge. Data were processed and visualized using VOSviewer to identify patterns, themes, and collaboration networks. The findings revealed six key clusters: philosophical foundations in educational practices, ontological and epistemological dimensions in educational research, historical and scientific perspectives, problem-solving approaches, axiological dimensions, and Islamic perspectives in educational philosophy. These results highlight the growing integration of interdisciplinary perspectives, critical thinking, and value-based education to address global challenges such as technological advancements and cultural shifts. This study contributes to the literature by offering insights into the evolving role of philosophy in education, emphasizing the importance of ethical leadership, cultural inclusivity, and sustainable educational practices. The findings provide actionable guidance for policymakers, educators, and researchers in designing curricula and pedagogical strategies that align with 21st-century educational needs while fostering moral and social responsibility.

Abstract

Understanding the concept of economic activities is very important for students to have since elementary school because it is the foundation so that later when they enter society, students can understand how the economic system works both at the micro and macro level. In the era of globalization and industrial revolution 4.0 where the economy is moving very dynamically, we are required to understand how the economy works so that we can adapt. The less innovative learning methods used in learning economic activity material make learning less meaningful and understanding of the concept of economic activity becomes low. This research is a descriptive qualitative study to look more deeply at how students understand the concept of economic activity material. The subjects in this research were class IV students of one of the Islamic-based private elementary schools in Bandung City for the 2022/2023 academic year. The research results show that understanding of concepts in economic activity material for interpreting, summarizing, concluding and explaining indicators is in the high category. Meanwhile, the indicators of exemplifying, classifying and comparing are in the very high category. These results were obtained after the teacher carried out learning according to the steps in the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the ability of grade 5 students at SDN 077 Sejahtera Bandung in grouping place values ​​of numbers through the use of the Smart Cashier application. Based on initial observations, many students have difficulty understanding the concept of place value of numbers, which is reflected in the low evaluation results on this material. This classroom action research (PTK) uses a learning method based on buying and selling transaction simulations with the Smart Cashier application and involves making play money as a visual aid. The research was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The research results showed that the application of this method succeeded in significantly increasing students’ understanding of the concept of place value of numbers. Students not only find it easier to understand the concept, but also show high enthusiasm during the learning process. This increase is also reflected in the evaluation results which show an increase in students’ mathematics scores in place value material. The average student score experienced a significant increase, where more than 85% of students succeeded in achieving the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) after implementing this method. In conclusion, the use of the Smart Cashier application as an interactive learning medium has proven to be effective in improving students’ ability to group place values ​​of numbers, as well as encouraging active participation and enthusiasm for students in learning mathematics. The results of this research can be a reference for teachers to implement internal technology learning to improve the quality of student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Upaya penanganan kemiskinan secara berkelanjutan dilakukan baik dari pemerintah, lembaga internasional, organisasi non-pemerintah, dan masyarakat. Salah satu upaya pemerintah dalam penanganan kemiskinan ini adalah pemberian bantuan sosial melalui Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH). Dalam pelaksanaannya, PKH didampingi oleh Pendamping PKH yang memiliki tanggung jawab untuk memberikan bimbingan, dukungan, dan pengajaran kepada Keluarga Penerima Manfaat (KPM agar dapat meningkatkan efektivitas program, dan dapat memberikan pendampingan yang berkualitas kepada KPM. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman pendamping PKH terhadap kinerjanya dalam memberikan pendampingan di Kabupaten Garut. Aspek kinerja yang diteliti adalah: kualitas, produktifitas, ketepatan waktu, efektivitas, kemandirian, komitmen kerja, dan tanggung jawab pendamping PKH terhadap organisasi yang menaungi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode interpretif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui fokus group discussion dan studi dokumen. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendamping PKH di Kabupaten Garut yang telah bekerja minimal 5 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendamping PKH di Kabupaten Garut menunjukkan tingkat kinerja yang baik, walaupun mereka menghadapi tantangan dalam memenuhi tuntutan tugas mereka. Keberhasilan pendamping PKH ditunjukkan dengan banyaknya KPM yang graduasi karena telah dapat hidup mandiri secara ekonomi. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pengembangan kapasitas pendamping PKH untuk meningkatkan efektivitas program PKH dalam mengurangi kemiskinan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan bagi pemerintah daerah dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pendampingan PKH.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the factors influencing the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in the digital era. The integration of digital technology into education faces challenges due to gaps in teachers’ pedagogical competence, which are shaped by disparities in infrastructure, digital literacy, access to professional development, policy support, and teacher attitudes and motivation. Employing a survey research design, this study involved 270 elementary school teachers from West Java Province as participants. Data were collected through a validated online questionnaire, with an Aiken’s validity index above 0.8 and a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability estimate of 0.867. Descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis using the Miles and Huberman model were utilized to examine the factors affecting teachers’ pedagogical competence. The results reveal significant disparities in ICT device availability, low digital literacy, limited access to training, weak school policy support, and psychological barriers that hinder ICT integration. Although 73% of teachers believe ICT improves learning outcomes, 54.07% remain hesitant to experiment due to fear of failure. These findings underscore the need for holistic training programs, infrastructure improvements, inclusive policies, and peer learning-based mentoring to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical competence in the digital era.

Abstract

Penelitian dalam bidang aktivitas fisik pada anak telah mengalami perkembangan yang signifikan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren penelitian terkait aktivitas fisik dalam kaitannya dengan perkembangan motorik dan kognitif anak menggunakan pendekatan bibliometrik. Sebanyak 410 artikel dari basis data Scopus yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2009 hingga 2024 dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak VOSviewer. Analisis ini mencakup visualisasi tren publikasi, kolaborasi antarpeneliti dan institusi, serta distribusi geografis penelitian. Hasil studi ini mengungkap dinamika penelitian global, menunjukkan peningkatan minat ilmiah secara konsisten, terutama pada tahun-tahun terakhir. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti kontribusi peneliti, institusi, dan negara-negara terkemuka dalam bidang ini. Temuan ini memberikan gambaran menyeluruh yang dapat menjadi dasar bagi penelitian lanjutan. Namun, keterbatasan juga ditemukan, seperti fokus pada satu basis data, tidak adanya uji antarpenilai, dan keterbatasan pendekatan kuantitatif. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya menggabungkan pendekatan bibliometrik dengan analisis konten serta memperluas sumber data melalui Google Scholar, Web of Science, PubMed, dan Dimensions untuk meningkatkan kelengkapan dan representativitas literatur.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of the low level of mastery of mathematical concepts regarding multiplication of whole numbers up to 100 in elementary school students in phase B. Based on the findings of an initial study conducted in an elementary school, as well as the results of a review of various previous studies, it was found that one of the causes was the learning process that had not integrated the use of contextual and relevant learning materials to students' lives. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to have teaching materials based on a mathematical approach, namely the RME-based "KOPER" learning material which is made for the material on multiplication operations of whole numbers up to 100. The choice of the word "KOPER" is taken from the syllables contained in the sentence "Multiplication Concept" which is the content of the learning material which is adjusted to the principles of the RME approach. This study aims to examine whether the implementation of RME-based “KOPER” learning materials has an effect on improving the ability to understand mathematical concepts of elementary school students in Phase B, in the topic of multiplication of whole numbers up to 100. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this study were third-grade elementary school students, divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group, each consisting of 20 students. Data collection was carried out using test instruments in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the “KOPER” learning material oriented towards Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) has an effect on improving students' ability to understand concepts, especially the multiplication material in elementary school students in phase B.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of pedagogy and andragogy in training strategies to improve the competence of vocational/vocational teacher teachers. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and document study. The study results show that implementing pedagogy and andragogy in training strategies can improve the competence of vocational/vocational teacher teachers. Pedagogy is used for training novice teachers and andragogy is used for training experienced teachers. The training strategies carried out include: (1) developing curriculum, (2) developing training materials, (3) using information and communication technology, (4) developing learning strategies, and (5) evaluating and assessing training results. This is contained in several sections that are published, namely, implementation, strategy, inhibiting factors, and benefits of training.
