Abstract

The current issue in elementary school learning is the low interest and motivation of students, particularly in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). This is mainly due to the continued use of conventional and unengaging teaching media, such as relying solely on textbooks and lecture methods. As a result, the learning process becomes less interactive and fails to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning. Therefore, there is a need for innovative teaching media that can attract students’ attention and make learning more enjoyable and meaningful. This study is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research was conducted in Grade IV at SDN 16 Mandau and SDN 43 Mandau. Data collection techniques involved validation questionnaires filled out by subject matter experts, language experts, and media experts, as well as practicality questionnaires completed by teachers and students. The aim of this research is to produce a digital Flipbook-based learning media that is valid and practical for IPAS learning. The results show that the developed Flipbook media obtained validation scores of 93.3% from subject matter experts, 100% from language experts, and 84% from media experts, with an overall average of 92.43%, all falling into the "very valid" category. The practicality test at SDN 16 Mandau resulted in a practicality score of 93.75% from teachers and 95.6% from students, categorized as "very practical." Similarly, at SDN 43 Mandau, the practicality scores were 96.87% from teachers and 98.5% from students, also categorized as "very practical." Thus, this digital Flipbook-based learning media is suitable for use in IPAS learning as it can enhance students' interest, participation, and understanding.
