Abstract

Science and Social Studies-centered learning in elementary schools has the potential to significantly enhance student wellbeing by addressing their holistic learning needs. This study seeks to examine how student wellbeing is integrated into the Science and Social Studies (IPAS)-centered curriculum for elementary students. Employing a qualitative research design grounded in a phenomenological approach, the study explores the lived experiences of students, teachers, and the school principal at Diponegoro Elementary School during the IPAS learning process. Data for this research were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, with participants including teachers, the school principal, and students. Triangulation techniques were utilized to ensure data validity. The data analysis was conducted following the Miles and Huberman model, which comprises data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that IPAS-centered learning has effectively integrated science and social studies through project-based learning initiatives, which actively engage students in practical, real-world applications. As a result, students have become more active and participatory, benefiting from hands-on activities within a supportive and conducive learning environment. This approach not only enhances learning outcomes but also underscores the importance of student wellbeing by fostering an integrated, holistic educational experience

Abstract

This research was motivated by several elementary school students who had difficulty reading and that learning media could act as a tool to aid these learning delays. The aim of this research is to describe the importance of effective learning media on apple letters to improve reading fluency in lowed class elementary school student. This method used qualitative research metods. The type of qualitative research used in this research is a case study type of research by means of observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain accurate research final data. The final data can be ascertained to be accurate because it has been proven by face to face observation activities on lower grade elementary school students who have difficulty reading, apart from that, observations were also made on teachers who used the letter apple teaching media as a teaching aid supported by documentation. The teacher’s importance to improving the reading fluency of lowed class student is by using learning media in the form of letters as a tool to convey the material. Form of student reading difficulties include difficulty distinguishing letter shapes and difficulty spelling letters and words. This research obtained results thar the apple letter media is very important to help teachers improve the reading fluency of lowed class elementary school students. Apple letter media can also improve student achievement, train critical thinking, and can increase student activity in learning because when students have difficulty reaing it will disrupt their learning activities. The impact or consequence of using letter apple media or other learning media in helping overcoming reading difficulties for lowed grade elementary school students is the creation of more advance education because using teaching media aims to help students achieve their learning goals so that students will get better achievement result good.

Abstract

Special Assistant Teacher Strategies in Implementing Learning for ADHD Children at Telagasari01 Elementary School. This research aims to describe the strategies of special assistant teachers in classroom learning towards inattentive behavior in ADHD children at Telagasari 01 elementary school. The type of research used is qualitative research. In this research, the data collection techniques used were observation and interviews. The subjects of this research were special assistant teachers, class teachers and observers in class 3 which contained ADHD students and directly observed the behavior or attitudes of ADHD students during the learning process at SD 01 TELAGASARI. The results of this research are that special support teachers play an important role in providing support that is appropriate to children's special needs. Effective strategies from accompanying teachers involve a direct, personal approach to children with ADHD. At SD 01 TELAGASARI, special assistant teachers work together with class teachers to provide adaptive learning for students with special needs. The strategies used include involving ADHD children in activities and providing positive incentives rather than excessive punishment to increase their motivation to learn

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang metode kreatif untuk pendidikan inklusi, khususnya untuk siswa di Sekolah Dasar Luar Biasa Negeri Sukoharjo yang memprioritaskan keterampilan motorik dan kemampuan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi, dan metode kualitatif digunakan untuk menyusun artikel ini. Tinjauan pustaka adalah dasar analisis proses. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat menggunakan strategi pembelajaran yang kreatif untuk meningkatkan penggunaan materi pembelajaran, sasaran, alat, metode, evaluasi, dan lingkungan pembelajaran siswa, berbagai strategi pembelajaran dapat digunakan oleh siswa ABK di tingkat dasar, termasuk pengajaran remedial, deduktif, induktif, heuristik, ekspositori, klasikal, kooperatif, dan perubahan perilaku. Disarankan kepada guru untuk mengeksplorasi media pembelajaran bagi siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus seperti teka-teki. This article aims to provide an explanation of creative methods for inclusive education, especially for students at the Sukoharjo State Special Elementary School who prioritize motor skills and the ability to interact with other people. Data was collected through interviews and observations, and qualitative methods were used to compile this article. Literature review is the basis of process analysis. The findings from this study indicate that educators have the potential to enhance the utilization of educational resources, objectives, tools, techniques, assessments, and learning atmospheres through the implementation of innovative teaching methods. Diverse instructional approaches, ranging from remedial and deductive to inductive and heuristic techniques, can be employed to accommodate elementary-level students with special needs. Collaborative learning, behavior modification, and other methods are also beneficial. Moreover, it is suggested that teachers explore alternative learning aids like puzzles to cater to the unique needs of these students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the school's preparation in organising inclusive education for children with special needs at SD Negeri Nayubarat II, located at Jalan Majapahit, Number 21, Nusukan, Banjarsari, Surakarta City. This study used a qualitative method with the research subjects including the principal, class teachers and Special Assistance Teachers (GPK). Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validation using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The data obtained was analysed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that SD Negeri Nayubarat II has made various efforts in organising inclusive education, such as providing accessible facilities, modifying the curriculum according to student needs, providing support from GPK and Shadow Teachers, conducting customised assessments, and providing equal educational facilities. However, there are still obstacles in its implementation, such as the lack of adequate facilities, the limited number of GPKs and the low level of environmental acceptance of the needs of children with special needs. To overcome these obstacles, the school continues to seek solutions through evaluation, socialisation and increasing parents' understanding. It can be concluded that SD Negeri Nayubarat II's preparation for inclusive education for children with disabilities has been quite successful, although there are still some obstacles that need to be overcome to support the sustainability of the inclusive programme.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the communication patterns and characteristics used by educators towards students with special needs at SLB Surakarta. Effective communication between educators and students is essential in the learning process, especially in special education settings, where students have a wide range of different needs and abilities. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, which allows researchers to explore direct and in-depth experiences regarding communication interactions between educators and students. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, literature study, and information analysis. The results of the research show that there are several communication patterns used by educators at SLB C1 YSSD Surakarta in interacting with students with special needs, including: (1) Two-way communication patterns that encourage active interaction between teachers and students, (2) Verbal communication patterns that involves the use of simple and easy to understand language, (3) Nonverbal communication patterns which include facial expressions, body movements, and gestures to support the message conveyed, (4) Repeated communication patterns carried out to ensure student understanding, (5) Communication patterns that emphasize each word to attract students' attention and help them stay focused, and (6) Communicate with empathy and openness to build closer relationships and support the learning process. The conclusion of this research shows that educators at SLB Surakarta apply various communication patterns designed to overcome challenges in interacting with students with special needs, by emphasizing the importance of clear, empathetic and open communication to support successful learning

Abstract

Abstrak: Kondisi disabilitas ini merupakan kenyataan yang perlu diperhatikan dan memerlukan dukungan individu secara penuh dan pada akhirnya akan menyita sumber daya keluarga. Kehadiran disabilitas juga kerap kali menimbulkan sejumlah stres bagi anak, yang dapat memengaruhi perkembangan fisik, kognitif, emosional, dan sosialnya. Akibatnya, hal ini dapat berdampak negatif pada rasa harga diri seorang anak. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus sebagai desain utamanya. Fokus penelitian akan difokuskan pada orang tua (MN) anak berkebutuhan khusus sebagai objek penelitian dengan variabel dependen yaitu peran orang tua dalam memahami resiliensi dan tantangan anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam pendidikan. Orang tua belum sepenuhnya memahami resiliensi anak berkebutuhan khusus, tetapi orang tua tetap berusaha semaksimal mungkin untuk memahami resiliensi tersebut. Meskipun masih merupakan cara yang kuno, menurut mereka, pemahaman tersebut dapat membantu anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam segala hal. Ketahanan merupakan upaya individu untuk beradaptasi secara efektif terhadap situasi yang penuh tekanan, sehingga dapat pulih dan berfungsi secara optimal serta mampu mengatasi tantangan. Dukungan yang diberikan oleh orang tua tidak hanya membantu anak dalam aspek akademis, tetapi juga membentuk kesejahteraan emosional mereka. Dengan kolaborasi antara orang tua, sekolah, dan masyarakat, kita dapat menciptakan kesempatan yang lebih baik bagi anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus untuk mencapai potensi penuh mereka dalam pendidikan dan kehidupan. Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in developing students' character in the classroom, which is why character education is a priority. In order for our nation's values, customs, and identity to flourish, character education must be shaped. There should be mandatory character education classes for kids of all ages. This study aims to analyze teachers' efforts to instill religious character in students using the inductive method. Case study methodology and observation, interviews, and documentation are employed to obtain data for this qualitative study. Participants included the school principal and six teachers from grades 1-6. Data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing are the four steps that make up interactive data analysis methodologies. This study concludes that the use of the habituation method to teach pupils about religion is highly effective, and that students benefit greatly from this approach. The findings of this study have important implications for the classroom, suggesting that teachers routinely employ habituation techniques that are proven to increase students' religious character without resorting to pressure.

Abstract

Science learning contains many material concepts that must be memorized and understood by participants. It's just that the reality on the ground shows that students' memory abilities are still relatively low, so students need media that can help improve their memory. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of song and picture media on the memory ability of elementary school students in science subjects. This research is a quantitative quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest design, using probability sampling technique as a sampling technique. The population in this study were all elementary school students. Sampling was carried out using probability sampling techniques and random sampling methods, so that the research sample obtained was 30 students of class V. Data collection in the study was carried out using the test and observation method. The research instrument used is in the form of posttest and pretest, each of which consists of 25 multiple choice questions. In addition, the teacher was observed using a teacher activity sheet that detailed every teacher's movement, from the preparation of tools and materials to the delivery of the material. The research data were then analyzed using the Data Homogeneity test, data normality test, and hypothesis testing with the help of the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application. The results of the research analysis showed that the results of the pretest and posttest that experienced differences in the average value, namely the pretest score was 52.53 and the posttest was 93.60, which means that there is an effect of increasing memory ability in fifth grade elementary school students after using the media of songs and pictures.

Abstract

The role of parents greatly affects the motivation and learning achievement of children to be able to create children's learning motivation. One way that parents can do is to accompany their children and prepare supporting facilities for learning activities at home. This study aims to analyses the impact of the existence of learning assistance and the educational background of parents on children’s learning motivation. In this research, the method use is descriptive quantitative with survey design. The research subjects were students in grades IV – VI, with a total of 30 students as respondents. The instrument that used in this study is questionnaire. The steps taken in this study consisted of several stages such as making questionnaires, distributing questionnaires, and processing data with prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing using the SPSS application. The data analysis used for this research is a prerequisite test with validity, reliability, normality, and linearity tests. From the data analysis of this study, the result of the validity test of all valid and reliable questions were obtained, the normality test with a value sig. 0.200, a linearity test with a value of sig. 0.166 between X1 and Y and 0.720 between X2 and Y, and hypothesis testing using the t-test with a value of sig. 0.000, f-test with a value of sig. 0.000, which means the hypothesis is accepted and the determination of deficiency is 58.2%. Then there is the influence of mentoring and parents’ educational background on learning motivation.
