Abstract

Physical education, sports, and health teachers have an important role in shaping the character, physical fitness, and discipline of students at the elementary school level. Rewards can be in the form of financial or non-financial rewards given as a form of appreciation for teacher performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design that aims to test the effect of reward policies on the motivation and performance of physical education teachers in elementary schools in the city of Surabaya. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires directly to teachers at school or through an online platform to facilitate respondents who are in more remote locations. The results of the regression analysis showed that the reward policy had a positive and significant effect on motivation (coefficient = 0.42; p <0.05) and performance (coefficient = 0.38; p <0.05). In addition, motivation also has a positive and significant effect on performance (coefficient = 0.45; p <0.05). The coefficient of determination (r²) value of 0.61 indicates that 61% of performance variability can be explained by the reward and motivation policy variables. Conclusion, reward policy has a positive and significant effect on the motivation and performance of physical education teachers in elementary schools in Surabaya. Further research can expand the object and use different approaches to enrich the findings.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Field Work Practice (FWP) in the Independent Curriculum in two Vocational High Schools (SMK), namely SMKN 1 Driyorejo and SMKN 1 Duduksampeyan. As part of vocational education, street vendors play a strategic role in preparing vocational school graduates to have technical competence and work ethic according to the needs of the business and industry (BI). This study uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through 18 in-depth interviews, 4 direct observations, and analysis of supporting documents, involving principals, vice principals, supervisors, students, parents, and industry partners. The results of the study show that in general, the implementation of street vendors has met the set standards and has a positive impact on students' work readiness. However, several aspects of input and processes were found that still needed to be improved, especially in the synchronization of the curriculum and the debriefing of participants before the implementation of street vendors. These findings indicate that the street vendor program in the Independent Curriculum has great potential to create adaptive, productive, and competent graduates, noting the importance of continuous improvement in planning and partnership with BI.

Abstract

High school students today are in a time when someone is experiencing changes within themselves. During the transition to adulthood, students are influenced by external factors that can lead them to be swayed by their environment, such as playing games. Students who have a high intensity of playing games may trigger a decrease in their learning moti-vation. The decrease in learning motivation among high school students is caused by several factors, including issues at school and relationships with parents and peers. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between game usage and learning motivation among stu-dents at SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo. This research is a non-experimental quantitative study, with a correlational research design using a cross-sectional approach. The respondents of the study consisted of 130 stu-dents from SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo, selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method used was a questionnaire. The analysis method used was Kendall's tau. The research results indicate that there is a relationship between game usage and learning motivation among students at SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo. The analysis results using the Kendall's tau test showed a p-value = 0.000, which means p-value < 0.05. The correlation coefficient value or r-value = -743 indicates a strong negative correlation, meaning that the higher the game usage, the lower the learning motivation among students. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between game usage and learning motivation among students at SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the policy of the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia Number 3 Year 2025 concerning the New Student Admission System. The study investigates the content, objectives, implementation challenges, and implications of the regulation within the context of Indonesian educational reform. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data collection involved document analysis, interviews with stakeholders, and literature review. The findings reveal that the regulation strives to establish a transparent, fair, and efficient student admission process, emphasizing merit-based selection, reduction of nepotism, and promotion of equitable access. However, the implementation faces obstacles such as inadequate infrastructure, limited digital literacy, and regional disparities. The analysis indicates that while the policy aligns with principles of social justice and educational equity, its success depends heavily on infrastructural support, stakeholder engagement, and continuous monitoring. The study concludes that to maximize the policy’s impact, concerted efforts are necessary to address operational challenges and adapt strategies to local contexts. Recommendations include strengthening technological infrastructure, increasing community awareness, and fostering collaboration among educational institutions and government agencies. This research provides valuable insights into the policy's strengths and weaknesses, offering guidance for policymakers to refine and implement the regulation more effectively.
