Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan pendidikan matematika realistis (RME) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi matematika dan mengidentifikasi kesenjangan serta rekomendasi untuk penelitian lebih lanjut dalam meningkatkan keterampilan literasi matematika. Melalui metode tinjauan pustaka sistematis, penelitian ini mengkaji 18 artikel relevan dari Scopus yang diambil dalam periode 2018-2023 menggunakan aplikasi Publish or Perish. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan kerangka kerja PIECES (Planning, Identifying, Evaluating, Collecting/Elaborating, Explaining, dan Summarizing). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa RME dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan literasi matematika siswa dengan mendorong keterlibatan aktif, pemahaman yang mendalam, dan transferabilitas pengetahuan dalam berbagai konteks. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyoroti kesenjangan penelitian dan menawarkan wawasan untuk penelitian di masa mendatang. Temuan-temuan ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran matematika berbasis literasi di berbagai tingkat pendidikan.This research aims to examine the application of realistic mathematics education (RME) in improving mathematical literacy skills and identify gaps and recommendations for further research in improving mathematical literacy skills. Through a systematic literature review method, this research examines 18 relevant articles from Scopus taken in the 2018-2023 period using the Publish or Perish application. Data analysis in this research was carried out using the PIECES framework (Planning, Identifying, Evaluating, Collecting/Elaborating, Explaining, and Summarizing). The analysis results show that RME can significantly improve students' mathematical literacy by encouraging active engagement, deep understanding, and transferability of knowledge in various contexts. Additionally, this study highlights research gaps and offers insights for future research. These findings provide an important contribution to the development of literacy-based mathematics learning methods at various levels of education.

Abstract

Abstrak Literasi statistik sangat penting bagi calon guru untuk menafsirkan data secara akurat dan membuat keputusan yang tepat. Namun, banyak yang mengalami kesulitan akibat pendekatan pembelajaran yang terlalu abstrak. Studi ini mengembangkan Learning Trajectory (LT) dengan mengintegrasikan produksi kopi Pagar Alam sebagai konteks dunia nyata untuk mendukung literasi statistik calon guru. Dengan menggunakan metodologi design research tipe validation study, penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga fase yaitu fase preliminary, Fase design experiment termasuk pilot experiment serta teaching experiment, dan fase retrospective analysis. Studi ini melibatkan 60 calon guru matematika dari Universitas Sriwijaya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan lembar kerja. LT yang dikembangkan terdiri dari empat langkah utama yaitu memahami jenis data, menerapkan konsep statistik, menganalisis tren probabilitas, dan menggunakan model statistik untuk prediksi. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya menghubungkan konsep teoretis dengan aplikasi praktis, memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pendidikan calon guru dan pengembangan kurikulum. Abstract Statistical literacy is essential for prospective teachers to interpret data accurately and make informed decisions. However, many struggle due to abstract instructional approaches. This study develops a Learning Trajectory (LT) that integrates Pagar Alam coffee production as a real-world context to support statistical literacy of prospective teachers. Employing a design research methodology within a validation study framework, the research consists of three phases: (1) a preliminary phase, (2) a design experiment phase, including a pilot experiment and a teaching experiment, and (3) a retrospective analysis phase. The study involved 60 prospective mathematics teachers from Sriwijaya University. Data collection methods included interviews, observations, and worksheets. The developed LT comprises four key steps: understanding data types, applying statistical concepts, analyzing probability trends, and using statistical models for predictions. This study underscores the importance of linking theoretical concepts with practical applications, providing valuable insights for teacher education and curriculum development.

Abstract

This research is qualitative research with design research methods and a development research type aiming to produce valid and practical worksheets on relational and functional materials based on problem-based learning (PBL) to support students' conceptual understanding. The learning process is carried out in the classroom with learning activities, accompanied by a student's worksheet, which consists of 2 questions. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII 10 of SMP Negeri 8 Palembang, with 6 students as the focus of the research. There are 2 stages in this research, namely: (1) preliminary stage and (2) prototyping stage (formative evaluation), which is divided into 5 stages, namely (1) self-evaluation, (2) expert review, (3) one to one, (4) small group and (5) field test. This research was conducted based on the learning system in schools with data collection techniques, namely walkthroughs, tests, interviews, and questionnaires, to be collected and analyzed qualitatively to see the validity and practicality of the worksheet. The results of this study will show that the worksheet that has been made is valid, as seen from the results of the expert review and practical validation sheets obtained from the questionnaire results, with an average of 84.03%, which is included in the valid and practical categories. The developed worksheet also supports understanding PBL-based concepts (Problem-Based Learning) in solving problems given in relation and function material, which can be seen from the overall student test results.

Abstract

This research was conducted as an effort to develop HOTS-based questions which included discussions on Historiography (Traditional, Colonial, National and Modern). In this study applied quantitative research methods using research and development methods to find out and measure the level of students’ understanding of the use of Higher order thinking skills (HOTS) questions in the material types of historiography in history learning. The development research method is research that is used to test the level of success and effectiveness of a product, which in this case is based on the use of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions. This study also aims to see the results in the form of elaboration starting from the process to the results in the HOTS test questions tested, also to measure the level of development of the questions on the Historiographical types of material that have been tested before through verification of teaching staff, fellow students, and field tests so that later questions is valid and the results of this research data are also real.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the relationship between critical thinking skills and communication skills on junior high school students' mathematical problem solving abilities. A total of 31 class VIII students were selected through simple random sampling as research subjects. To measure each ability, a test was carried out using essay questions which were then analyzed quantitatively using correlation and multiple regression analysis. From this research, the results obtained show that both the correlation between critical thinking and problem solving abilities and communication and problem solving abilities are both in the high category. The coefficient of determination test results obtained were 0.540, which means that the contribution of critical thinking abilities and mathematical communication skills together to problem solving abilities was 54%.   Penelitian ini ingin menyelidiki hubungan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan komunikasi terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMP. Sebanyak 31 siswa kelas VIII dipilih melalui simple random sampling sebagai subjek penelitian. Untuk mengukur masing-masing kemampuan dilakukan tes menggunakan soal uraian yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan analisis korelasi dan regresi berganda. Dari penelitian ini didapati hasil bahwa baik korelasi antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan menyelesaikan masalah maupun kemampuan komunikasi dan keterampilan menyelesaikan masalah sama-sama berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil uji koefisien determinasi diperoleh sebesar 0,540 yang maksudnya besarnya kontribusi kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah yaitu sebesar  54%.

Abstract

Mathematics learning problems, especially on the Pythagorean theorem material, cannot be studied only from one side, but need to be seen comprehensively from various integrative learning studies. This study aims to provide an overview of the evaluation of learning Pythagorean theorem material from reputable studies. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SRL) method. A review was conducted of 13 relevant articles published in various reputable international journals in the period 2019 to 2024. The data analysis used was carried out with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Based on the results of the review, it was found that in the Pythagorean theorem material there are still many misconceptions of understanding, with implications for the ability of abstraction that is not optimal. The quality of teaching is influenced by teachers' motivational beliefs in teaching, technology integration can help increase learning motivation, streamline learning and students are happier with teachers who use learning media, and teacher motivation in applying technology has an important role. In the realm of learning innovation, problem-based learning with a realistic mathematics approach is proven to be valid and effective and encourages active students and positive responses to the Pythagorean theorem material. Abstract

Mathematical literacy is very important for all students. Based on the PISA results, Indonesian students' mathematical literacy skills are still low, so students need to be trained with PISA-like mathematical problem. This study aimed to produce a valid and practical PISA-like mathematical problem using the context of Palembang traditional food. Design research in the form of a development study was chosen in this study which consisted of preliminary and prototyping stages. Data collection was carried out using walk-throughs, tests, questionnaires surveys, and interviews. The research subjects were 20 eighth graders. Materials on relations and functions were delivered in this study using a personal context through the activity of purchasing Palembang traditional food. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicated that the problem developed is valid and practical. The problem was considered valid as it was developed in accordance with the PISA framework, as well as the curriculum and materials for the eighth grade. The problem was also declared practical, meaning that it is viabel to use for students, its wording does not cause multiple interpretations, it is understandable to students, the tables and numbers used are clear, and students are interested in solving it because it is relevant to everyday life situations. The problem developed also has a potential effect on supporting students' mathematical literacy skills. This study concludes that problem that has been developed is valid, practical, and has potential effect.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan soal tipe TIMSS pada materi perbandingan kelas VII SMP yang valid dan praktis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan design research tipe development studies. Prosedur pengembangan soal pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tahap preliminary dan tahap formative evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis datanya menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan menguraikan aktivitas siswa saat mengerjakan soal di kelas pada saat observasi dan menguraikan saran dan komentar terhadap butir soal yang dikembangkan dari hasil wawancara bersama siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiga butir soal tipe TIMSS pada materi perbandingan kelas VII SMP yang dikembangkan sudah valid dan praktis. Karakteristik soalnya sudah sesuai dengan karakteristik soal TIMSS karena berkaitan dengan konteks nyata, soal sesuai untuk siswa kelas VII, soal sudah mengembangkan tiga level kognitif, dan soal sudah dapat dipahami. Valid secara kualitatif diperoleh dari penilaian teman sejawat, sedangkan secara kuantitatif diperoleh setelah pelaksanaan uji validitas pada siswa kelas VII. Butir soal nomor 1 dengan nilai koefisien validitasnya adalah 0,5606, butir soal nomor 2 dengan nilai koefisien validitasnya adalah 0,8186, dan butir soal nomor 3 dengan nilai koefisien validitasnya adalah 0,7305. Kepraktisan soal diperoleh setelah dilakukan revisi berdasarkan komentar siswa pada tahap small group

Abstract

Conducive learning situation is related to the quality of learning that is packaged in a learning environment. The purpose of this study is to describe the analysis of the PMRI learning environment's needs for geometry material on critical thinking skills. The ability to think critically is a skill that must be possessed by teachers, prospective teachers, and students in the 21st century; therefore, the availability of a learning environment based on the PMRI approach is very important for teachers, prospective teachers, and students, especially prospective teachers. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method, with the number of respondents specifically testing the critical thinking ability test questions 40 people who were PGSD students at the PGRI Palembang University and the number of respondents specifically filling out the questionnaire as many 199 people, consisting of students from PGRI University of Palembang, PGRI University of Silampari and PGRI University of Yogjakarta. Data was gathered through the use of tests and questionnaires. The data collected were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Based on the analysis of test data, 80% of critical thinking skills are still below average, and questionnaire analysis revealed that 60.9% of the geometry material is considered difficult for students; students also do not understand the knowledge of 21st century skills, especially critical thinking skills, and the PMRI approach is still not well applied in the student learning environment. Therefore, requires further research that applies the PMRI approach in the learning environment and geometric difficulties can be overcome.

Abstract

There is a gap in the learning approach applied by the teacher in stimulating early childhood math skills. This study aims to describe the Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) application based on Project Based Learning (PBL) in the implementation of learning to stimulate children's mathematical abilities. The method used is descriptive qualitative in group B children in IT Fathul Ilmi Kindergarten Palembang. The result is that PBL-based LSLC has learning stages; plan, do, see, and redesign mathematics learning projects. These stages facilitate children to optimally master early mathematical abilities and develop interaction, communication, and cooperation, as well as the development of caring characters and empathy for friends in completing math projects together. The application of PBL-based LSLC makes learning in Fathul Ilmi Kindergarten active and interactive, so the PBL-based LSLC is recommended to teachers and stakeholders in early childhood mathematics learning.
