Abstract

Skills in the world of work become demands that must be fulfilled by every education practitioner. Vocational education graduates produced by tertiary institutions do not have maximum competencies that are ready to be used for work, so there is often a gap between the competencies desired by graduates and the competencies produced by the education world. Educational literacy is needed to overcome this gap, one of them is by developing work-based learning models in midwifery vocational education. This study aims to analyze the needs of midwifery graduates, midwifery graduates 'recognition and midwifery lecturers' views on the general competency aspects of midwife graduates and work skills. This study involved five obstetricians from various institutions, five graduates working in various health institutions and five lecturers from various midwifery institutions. The results of the needs analysis showed that the low evaluation of midwifery users regarding the aspects of general competence and work skills of midwives in one year of work, so that the development of work-based learning models in midwifery education is very necessary to equate the desires of graduate users with the graduates produced. Furthermore, the resulting model will be tested effectively, valid and practical so that graduates can compete in the world of work.

Abstract

Online learning can use an e-learning platform, e-learning content must be ideal and in accordance with the evaluation of the use of e-learning content. However, the gap that occurs is that e-learning content has never been started at Padang State University (UNP). The problems experienced by lecturers are not using content optimally, only using uploaded material, while content related to how to present material, learning methods in the use of e-learning and other content is not used. The purpose of this research is to make improvements to the implementation of e-learning in the UNP environment. The method used is a mixed method with quantitative and qualitative research, CIPP evaluation model, data collection using questionnaires. Based on the keywords from the CIPP evaluation results; 1) Context such as Principles, Goals, Environment, Needs. 2). Inputs such as e-learning delivery format, human resources (HR), User-friendly E-learning interface and service quality. 3) product category, namely Lecturer Competence. 4). Category of Lecturer Interaction Process, Teaching Method. The results of the survey obtained in Contexs have an average of 77.23, for input the average is 93.99, then the average process is 69.73, and the product is 68.25. So that it can provide recommendations for evaluating the implementation of e-learning by considering the process in the interaction section, on the product aspect of learning outcomes, on the input aspect the value is very good, then the component dimensions need to be improved.

Abstract

Civil servant teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh face challenges in applying Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) self-directed training results to classroom practices. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the PMM self-directed training program using the Kirkpatrick evaluation model. An evaluative research design was employed involving 20 civil servant teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, observations, tests, and documentation, then analyzed using SPSS Statistics Version 29 for descriptive and inferential statistics (paired t-test, effect size), and thematic analysis. Results demonstrated program effectiveness across all four Kirkpatrick levels. At the reaction level, teachers showed high satisfaction (M = 3.65-4.20). The learning level revealed significant competency improvements with paired t-test results (t = -24.367, p < 0.001) and exceptionally large effect size (Cohen's d = -5.449). At the behavior level, positive teaching behavior changes emerged (M = 3.85-4.00) across four competency dimensions. The results level identified transformative impacts including improved student learning outcomes, innovative methodologies (flipped classroom, gamification), efficient resource utilization, and optimized curriculum achievement. In conclusion, the PMM self-directed training program effectively improved teacher competency and transformed teaching practices at SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in improving human resources and shaping adaptive character. To address post-pandemic learning challenges, Indonesia introduced the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing flexibility and competency development. This study evaluates the Merdeka Curriculum implementation at SMKN 1 Luak, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra, using the CIPP (Contextual, Input, Process, Product) model. The evaluation covers the 2023/2024 academic year, following its introduction in 2022. A mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative) was used for data collection through observations, interviews with teachers, students, and administrators, and analysis of relevant curriculum documents. The results indicate that the context aspect (National Education Standards and School-Level Curriculum) is very good (91.11%). The input aspect (teacher qualifications, infrastructure, reference books) is generally good, but there are shortcomings in qualified teachers, reference books, and subject guidelines. The learning process is rated as adequate (77.18%), with challenges in teaching strategies and student engagement. Student learning outcomes were rated as adequate (79.12%), with room for improvement in critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The Merdeka Curriculum positively impacts education quality, but improvements in facilities, teacher training, and motivation are needed to optimize its effectiveness. These findings suggest schools with similar contexts can benefit by focusing on teaching infrastructure and professional development.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program at STIA LPPN Padang using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product) developed by Stufflebeam. This research is an evaluative study with a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The evaluation results show that, in terms of the context, the RPL program is aligned with the institution’s vision and mission as well as the needs of the community, especially government employees in the nagari (village) in West Sumatra. In terms of input, there are certified assessors, complete RPL tools, and infrastructure support, although there are challenges in the understanding of assessments by some lecturers and limited funding. In terms of process, the implementation of socialization, portfolio assessments, verification, and credit determination has followed the guidelines, but the duration of the implementation is relatively long due to the limited number of assessors. In terms of product, the RPL program has a positive impact, including faster study progress, increased student motivation, recognition of work competencies, and contributions to the institution's reputation. However, strengthening socialization, increasing the number of assessors, and digitizing documentation are needed to improve the quality of RPL implementation in the future. This study confirms that the RPL program at STIA LPPN Padang has been effectively implemented and has the potential to further develop as a strategy for expanding inclusive and equitable higher education access.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and evaluate the curriculum implemented at SMAN 2 Sutera, both at the document and implementation levels, and to formulate a hypothetical model of an ideal curriculum relevant to the demands of the digital era. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, beginning with a qualitative analysis of curriculum documents (syllabi, lesson plans, and school programs), followed by surveys and interviews with teachers, students, and school stakeholders. The findings reveal that although the current curriculum at SMAN 2 Sutera accommodates several aspects of 21st-century competencies, there remains a gap between curriculum planning and classroom practice—particularly in the integration of digital technology, enhancement of information literacy, and the application of project-based learning. Based on these findings, this study proposes an adaptive digital-based curriculum model that emphasizes teacher-student collaboration, the use of interactive learning technologies, and the development of critical, creative, communicative, and collaborative (4C) competencies. This model is expected to serve as a reference for developing a contextual, innovative, and future-oriented senior high school curriculum in Indonesia.
