Abstract

This study aimed to i) analyse learning problems in science at boarding schools for junior high school students and ii) determine the effectiveness of science learning in the context of Islamic teachings using the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, -religion (STEM-R) approach to improve reflective and critical thinking skills. The research method applied in this study was a sequential exploratory mixed method. The research design consisted of five stages: i) qualitative data gathering, ii) qualitative data analysis, iii) quantitative data gathering, iv) quantitative data analysis, and v) data interpretation. The subjects of this study were 192 students from boarding schools and were divided into 6 groups. The research results obtained were the school, parents, science teachers and religion teachers’ vision and mission causing students to like or dislike science. An excellent teacher is viewed by students as someone who can make learning enjoyable, exhibit creativity in presenting educational material, possess the ability to motivate, link science and religion, engage in investigative activities, infuse humour, establish connections between science and everyday life, and communicate concepts effectively. Moreover, distinctions in reflective thinking and critical thinking abilities were observed between the experimental group and the control group. Learning that connects science and Islamic religion and examines STEM-R aspects is able to develop students' thinking skills.

Abstract

The formation of environmental literacy in the education system through education for sustainable development (EfSD) experiences many obstacles. The aim of the research is to analyze the impact of interdisciplinary science learning for interdisciplinary oriented education for sustainable development to improve interdisciplinary thinking and environmental literacy of prospective teachers. The experimental method with a quasi-experimental pretest posttest group design was used in this study. The data collection technique used is an environmental literacy questionnaire and an interdisciplinary thinking test. Data analysis technique used independent t test. The results obtained were that the science interdisciplinary learning effective in improving interdisciplinary thinking performance and environmental literacy. The performance of students’ interdisciplinary thinking affects environmental literacy of students. The university forms student teacher candidates who have the ability to think interdisciplinary so that they can manage science learning in an interdisciplinary and environmentally literate manner. The implication of this research is the importance of fostering interdisciplinary thinking and environmental literacy at all levels of education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the natural science concept of the funeral process for the bodies of the Javanese people. This research is a qualitative research method of phenomonology. This research involved the Brebes community who carried out this activity. Data collection techniques used are interviews and scientific documents. The research instrument used was interviews. The validity of the data was obtained using the triangulation method. Data analysis techniques namely data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study the process of burial of the bodies of the Brebes community includes 4 (four) activities: (1) bathing, (2) shrouding, (3) lighting, and (4) burying. The funeral process for bodies can be reconstructed into formal science/science at school. The depth of the grave is the standard measurement, which is 160 cm and 2 meters long and the height of the pile of soil is 75 cm. The circle that is placed on the head of the deceased serves as a pillow, 7 of which are placed between the neck and head, the hip area, and the feet. The body is laid on its side and facing the Qibla. The wood used as “tenger”/tombstone is of the teak/albasiar type. The body was closed using a board. The type of soil used for graves that has a loose texture. The types of flowers sprinkled over the grave are jasmine, magnolia, and roses. The process of treating the corpse has been carried out from generation to generation. The burial process of the corpse can be used as a learning resource for basic science courses in science teaching.

Abstract

Education is one of the factors that prepare societies to handle climate change. Humanity must step up efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions and prepare humanity for future crises. The development and validation the SLP of the SIP-SPP course is an effort to mitigate climate change through physics learning. The Plomp development design with three main stages: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment to produces valid, practical, and effective semester learning plan products. The characteristics of the resulting semester learning plan product are the learning objective of adopting the thirteenth SDGs is climate change mitigation, adopting EfSD competencies are CPS, assessment learning objectives with environmental literacy questionnaires and CPS performance observation rubrics in groups, learning activities based on peatland-smart projects, learning content heat and thermodynamics, peatlands, climate change, and region. SLP is valid and reliable according to experts and practitioners, practical and easy to use, and can improve the CPS of prospective physics teacher students. SLP of SIP-SPP needs to be developed and validated to make it easier for lecturers and science lecturers, especially physics, to adopt SDGs and EfSD in learning. Environmental literacy of prospective teacher students will be a mitigation of climate change.

Abstract

Globalisasi dan urbanisasi telah menjadi tantangan bagi upaya pelestarian warisan budaya di Indonesia, khususnya di Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta (BBY), sebuah lembaga kebudayaan di bawah Kompas Gramedia, dalam menjaga seni tradisi dan melibatkan masyarakat di tengah dinamika perkembangan kota. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan wawancara narasumber, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa BBY berperan sebagai ruang inklusif yang mendukung pelestarian seni tradisi yang sering terpinggirkan. Hal ini sejalan dengan konsep "people-centered museology" yang menjadikan museum atau lembaga budaya sebagai tempat aktif bagi komunitas untuk menjaga tradisi, bukan hanya penyimpanan artefak. BBY juga berupaya menyeimbangkan pelestarian budaya dengan perkembangan kota dan pariwisata. Keterlibatan masyarakat lokal ditekankan sebagai kunci pariwisata berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, BBY memberikan akses dan ruang bagi seniman serta pengrajin tradisi, menciptakan dialog antara kreator dan apresiator. Keterlibatan masyarakat adalah elemen krusial dalam pelestarian budaya, sebagai upaya mempertahankan "patch" budaya lokal di tengah arus modernisasi global. Pelestarian warisan budaya memerlukan keseimbangan antara modernisasi, pelibatan masyarakat, dan pemahaman dinamika lokal untuk memastikan nilai budaya terus diwariskan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyorotii peran dan kontribusi Sunan Kalijaga dalam membangun moderasi beragama serta implikasinya dalam mengatasi masalah sosial saat ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sunan Kalijaga adalah contoh nyata tentang bagaimana pemimpin religius dapat mempengaruhi masyarakat dalam mengadopsi nilai-nilai moderasi dan toleransi.

Abstract

Studi ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis dampak dari pengakuan penghargaan, dorongan profesional, serta ketertiban kerja terhadap performa staf di instansi Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, dan Perencanaan Keluarga wilayah Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Metodologi yang diterapkan dalam riset ini bersifat numerik atau berbasis data kuantitatif. Total partisipan yang dilibatkan dalam pengumpulan data mencapai 57 orang responden. Metode pengolahan data yang digunakan mencakup analisis statistik, pengujian regresi linier berganda, analisis t-test, uji F, dan perhitungan koefisien determinasi. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menggunakan uji-t, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pengakuan atas penghargaan memiliki dampak yang positif dan signifikan secara individual terhadap performa karyawan. Demikian pula, dorongan dalam bekerja menunjukkan pengaruh yang menguntungkan dan berarti terhadap tingkat kinerja personel secara parsial. Sementara itu, keteraturan dalam menjalankan tugas memberikan kontribusi yang relatif kecil terhadap pencapaian kerja staf. Melalui hasil dari pengujian F, disimpulkan bahwa secara bersama-sama, faktor penghargaan, semangat kerja, dan kedisiplinan memberikan efek yang positif dan bermakna terhadap produktivitas pegawai. Dari hasil perhitungan koefisien determinasi, diperoleh nilai Adjusted R Square sebesar 0,497 atau setara 49,7%, yang menunjukkan bahwa persentase kontribusi ketiga variabel tersebut terhadap performa pegawai mencapai hampir setengahnya, sedangkan sisanya yakni 50,3% merupakan pengaruh dari aspek-aspek lain yang tidak dimasukkan dalam cakupan penelitian ini.

Abstract

This review studying the correlation between microstructural transformations and mechanical properties in reconditioned low-allow steel material, focusing on the impact of Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) parameters, especially current, on microstructure . The study highlights how variation on welding parameters, especially current intensity variation, affecting microstructural transformations, hardness, and wear resistance of hardfaced layers. Key aspects such as dilution effect, phases distribution, and carbide formation are reviewed to understanding their impact on mechanical properties. By reviewing insights from existing literature and experimental findings, this review underscores the role of Submerged Arc Welding in enhancing mechanical properties and microstructural of low-alloy steel material.

Abstract

This community service aims to educate that collaborating in entrepreneurship is important. This PKM took place in Parapat Village, Simalungun Regency, and the method used was by means of lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. It was explained that there are many ways to collaborate in developing a business or as an entrepreneur. In this meeting, a discussion was held so that the business being carried out and its problems were known. Finally, it was discovered that the most common problem lately was business capital and the need for local government support to support and protect the business.

Abstract

Abstract This study evaluate the mechanical characteristics and microstructure of API 5L X-65-clad UNS N08825 during repair welding. Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and shielded metal arc welding were used in combination to carry out the welding and the repair welding (SMAW). Filler metals ER NiCrMo3 and E NiCrMo3 were used throughout the GTAW and SMAW welding processes. The first specimen served as the primary focus, after which the weld areas of the remaining four specimens were ground, re-beveled, and then re-welded using the same parameters. It performed tensile testing, bending tests, Impact Charpy tests, macro photography tests, and Vickers hardness tests. Repairs weld carried out, the heat-affected zone's hardness in the capping region increased. The findings of the tensile test demonstrate that the tensile strength is not considerably impacted by the welding repair at any particular welding repair location. The biggest decline in the number is caused by the welding repair at PTR 2, which is 0.83 percent. The heat affected area (FL) value decreased by 10.44 percent according to the charpy impact test results. The PTR 1 and PTR 2 areas in the weld metal area had the lowest charpy impact test results, respectively, of 88 J and 258 J.
