Abstract

Scientific literacy is essential skills that students must master in the 21st century. This study aims to examine the effect of the Group Investigation (GI) learning model on improving science literacy in Middle School students on thermal expansion. The research uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of one class selected through purposive sampling, namely class VII I at SMP Negeri 5 Yogyakarta. The data collection method involved using a test with a science literacy test in the form of multiple-choice questions. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests to determine the differences before and after implementing the GI learning model. The study results indicate that the Group Investigation (GI) learning model can improve students' science literacy on thermal expansion. The enhancement in science literacy scores for indicators such as explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically showed increases of 35.1%, 40.02%, 22.08%, and 39.98%, respectively. The paired sample T-test results indicated that the GI learning model significantly affected science literacy and its indicators. The N-gain test results showed that the GI learning model positively affected science literacy, with the indicators achieving scores of 0.42, 0.64, 0.39, and 0.29, categorized as moderate, moderate, moderate, and low, respectively. The calculated Cohen's d value of 1.457024 falls within the huge category based on Sawilowsky's (2009) criteria. This study concludes that implementing the GI learning model can improve students' science literacy on thermal expansion.      Keywords: group investigation, science literacy, thermal expansion, middle school. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i3.pp1549-1558

Abstract

This study discusses the Problems of Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMK Negeri 3 Palu, the main problem in this thesis contains the formulation of the problem of How the Problems of Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMK Negeri 3 Palu, and how the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in solving the Problems of Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMK Negeri 3 Palu, the purpose of the research is to find out the Problems of Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMK Negeri 3 Palu,  and to find out the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in solving Islamic Religious Education Learning Problems at SMK Negeri 3 Palu. To answer these problems, the author uses a qualitative method in this study, which is sourced from field research and data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. To test the validity of the data using Extension of participation, Presistent observation, and Triangulation. The results of the research in the discussion of this thesis are about the Problems of Learning Islamic Religious Education at SMK Negeri 3 Palu various problems found in teaching and learning activities, be it related to the application of methods, mastery of materials, problems with facilities and infrastructure to the media used. The suggestions from this article are, Islamic Religious Education needs to receive attention from various parties. There needs to be cooperation between one party and another.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan instrument evaluasi PPDB sistem zonasi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development (R&D). Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah 4D dari Thiagarajan (1974). Teknik sampel yang digunakan yaitu purpossive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan angket. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) Instrumen  dikembangkan berdasarkan studi pendahuluan belum ada dan perlu dikembangkan untuk melakukan evaluasi. (2) Instrumen evaluasi model CIPP yang dikembangkan  layak dan valid digunakan berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli evaluasi, ahli pengukuran dan praktisi sekolah dengan kategori  baik Kata-kata kunci : Pengembangan, Instrumen, Evaluasi, PPDB; Zonasi; CIPP

Abstract

This research aims to determine environmental literacy and the influence of interdisciplinary environmental dynamic fluid physics learning using the Discovery Learning model on students' environmental literacy. This research is quantitative research using a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design method. The technique used in this research is the saturated sample technique, which is a data analysis technique using paired samples t-test. Learning environmentally integrated dynamic fluid physics using the Discovery Learning model can increase students' environmental literacy and have a significant effect on students' knowledge, attitudes and behaviour towards the river environment. Increasing students' ecological literacy is influenced by the implementation of learning, which is quite good, and the students are active. Environmental integration physics learning must continue to be developed so that it becomes an example for teachers to manage classes with environmental literacy outcomes and as an activity to conserve freshwater resources so that the environment is sustainable.

Abstract

This study used an experimental method by directly observing the object under study. The independent variables in this study include the geometry of the flame holder on the meso-scale combustor, airflow, and fuel discharge. The research data were analyzed and displayed in graphical form as well as flame visualization. This research concludes that combustion using a flame holder circle has a more stable and even flame compared to a flame holder concentric ring and backward facing step. The shape of the Flame holder circle also produces a higher flame temperature. The results of this study contribute to the development of MPG based on micro combustion with a better understanding of the interaction between flame holders, reactant velocities and equivalent ratios in achieving stable and efficient combustion in meso-scale combustors. This research can provide important input for the development of high-efficiency micro-combustion-based power generation technology in the future.

Abstract

Shell and tube heat exchanger (STHeX) design development continues to be carried out to increase the effectiveness of a system. One way is to investigate the optimal baffle design. The new structure of STHeX with Inclined-Segmental Baffles is further investigated. The experiment was carried out using the numerical method Computing Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software with three-dimensional modeling. The results show that the heat change coefficient value is lower than conventional STHeX, However, the pressure drop value is reduced quite significantly. Therefore, it is necessary to know the overall heat transfer coefficient value per pressure loss (U/DeltaP). Hence, we get U/DeltaP values of 0.9 and 0.68 for STHeX with Inclined-Segmental Baffle and conventional STHeX, respectively. Thus, there is a significant increase ranging from 37-34%. It is concluded that STHeX with Inclined-Segmental baffles increases the U/DeltaP value significantly compared to conventional STHeX.

Abstract

The application time of Paecilomyces spp. was assumed affecting its ability to suppress the root knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.). This study aimed to get the effective application time to suppress Meloidogyne spp. The study was carried out at greenhouse and Biological Control Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Andalas from March to June 2015. The research method used was compeletely random design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The application times consisted of 14 days before planting, 7 days before planting, at planting time, 7 days after planting, 14 days after planting and control. Application time of Paecilomyces spp. on 7 days before planting was the best time to reduce the number of root knot, the group of nematode eggs, nematode eggs and nematode larvae in the soil.

Abstract

Tagetes erecta Linnaeus is classified as a nematisidal plant so that it can control root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.). The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of T. erecta leaf powder, which was effective in controlling root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) on tomato. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and four replications, namely the effectiveness of several doses of T. erecta leaf powder (control/ no treatment, 5 g, 10 g, 15 g, 20 g, 20 g, 25 g each 5 kg of soil). The results showed that the application of T. erecta leaf powder reduced the amount of root-knot, number of eggs and groups of eggs and the number of nematodes in the soil. The most effective dose was 20 g/ 5 kg of soil.

Abstract

The attack of Brontispa longissima has spread to almost all coconut plantations in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the attack level of B.longissima on dwarf and tall varieties and the number of fruit in Solok Regency. A survey with purposive random sampling was done. The parameters observed were the percentage of plants attacked, the percentage of midribs attacked, and the number of the coconut fruit. The results showed that the highest percentage of coconut attacked by B. longissima occurred on the tall variety (83.34%) in Gunung Talang Subdistrict, the highest percentage of midribs attack occurred on tall variety (12.67%) in X Koto Singkarak Subdistrict. There was a negative close correlation between the percentage of leaves attacked and the number of coconuts.

Abstract

The purpose of experiment were to know antagonistic activity of fungi to root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) in rhizosphere of tomato. The experiment consisted of isolation, test of antagonistic activity and identification of fungi that carried out at Phytopathology Laboratory of Universitas Andalas. Soil samples were taken from rhizosphere of healthy tomato in Alahan Panjang, Solok, and Agam. The results indicated that there were seven antagonistic fungi to Meloidogyne spp., namely: Paecilomyces sp., Penicillium, sp., Aspergillus sp., Fusarium sp., Gliocladium sp. Trichoderma sp., and Chaetomium sp.
