Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of tube configuration with different bottom fixation components on the energy absorption of a two-segment crash box. The circular tube thickness configuration has two thickness levels, half of the length of the tube has thicker walls (t2), and the other half has thinner walls (t1). The t1 values are 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 mm while t2 is constant, 3 mm. Finite element analysis using ANSYS WORKBENCH was performed for the axial load model. The bottom fixation component uses Cutting Die Model (CDM) and Flat Model (FM). Sixteen crash box models were run to provide the effect of two tube thickness configurations and CDM-FM fixation components. The material of the circular tubes is Aluminum 6063 with a Bilinear Hardening Model assumption. Crashworthiness performance indicators were observed based on the values of Energy Absorber (EA), Specific Energy Absorber (SEA), initial peak force (Fmax), and Crash Force Efficiency (CFE). The results show that the CDM model has the lowest Fmax value, due to the use of the die, which stimulates easier initial folding in the tube end area. The CDM model also has better SEA and CFE values. According to the results obtained from computer simulations, the CDM-t2t1 model with t1=1mm exhibited the highest Specific Energy Absorption (SEA) of 67.93 kJ. On the other hand, this same crash box model provided the smallest Fmax of 205.88 kN and the highest CFE value of 0.69. From these results, it can be concluded that this model provides the best crashworthiness performance.

Abstract

Flexing culture, which refers to the act of showcasing wealth and social status, has become a common phenomenon in the digital era, especially on social media. This culture represents a materialistic lifestyle that has the potential to create social inequality and spiritual crises. This study aims to analyze flexing culture from the perspective of the Qur’an by highlighting its contradiction with the values of tauhid. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i) approach, analyzing Qur’anic verses related to wealth, arrogance, and worldly life. This study finds that flexing culture contradicts the principle of tauhid, as it promotes behaviors such as arrogance (takabbur), ostentation (riya’), and wastefulness (israf), all of which are criticized in the Qur’an. In contrast, the Qur’an emphasizes the importance of simplicity, gratitude, and the responsible use of wealth. In conclusion, flexing culture is inconsistent with Qur’anic values and should be addressed through the strengthening of spiritual awareness and ethical use of social media.

Abstract

The operation of the track rollers is dependent on the frictional forces between the rollers and the track. Furthermore, the presence of moisture-laden sand and mud in the surrounding environment accelerates the corrosion process, leading to a synergistic effect on abrasion wear. The production of new rollers is a highly energy-intensive process, resulting in the emission of significant quantities of carbon dioxide. The main objective of this research was to develop a process for remanufacturing track rollers by integrating hardfacing methods, specifically, combining buttering with gas-metal-arc welding (GMAW) that utilizes 309LMo and flux-core arc welding (FCAW) employing TiC-O. During the GMAW process, currents of 180 A, 220 A, and 260 A were applied at the same time as wire with a diameter of 1.2 mm, whereas the FCAW process involved using currents of 200 A, 250 A, and 300 A in conjunction with a wire with a diameter of 1.6 mm. An evaluation was conducted through mechanical tests and metallurgical analysis to determine the effect of the variable current on the physical and mechanical properties of the hardfill layer. Mechanical tests using the Rockwell method and metallurgical analysis via morphological observation were conducted to assess the performance of the remanufactured track roller. The outcomes revealed that as the current increase in GMAW/FCAW welding, the hardfacing layer became increasingly stiffer, but this effect was offset by the failure of the hardfacing interface to bond correctly, as shown by its insufficient fusion and the formation of cracks and holes that penetrated into the base metal. This study highlights the importance of welding parameters to achieve a balance between hardness in the base and weld metals, diffusion, and the quality of the bond between the two, as a practical and cost-efficient method for the remanufacturing industry.

Abstract

The Citizen’s Charter focuses on transparency, accountability, and quality public services. Within the framework of Islamic Human Rights, it emphasizes the importance of protecting public interests and achieving impartial social justice, meaning justice without discrimination. Sharia itself aims to attain the welfare (maslahah) of society, aligning with the principles of the Citizen’s Charter. Thus, it can be interpreted as support for initiatives aimed at improving the quality of public health services and fulfilling citizens' rights. Therefore, the principles of justice, transparency, and community welfare are in line with the objectives of the Citizen’s Charter. This study found: 1) The integration of Islamic Human Rights (IHR) into the Citizen’s Charter in the healthcare sector; 2) The formulation, implementation, and evaluation of medical services based on the Citizen’s Charter at Mardiwaluyo Regional Hospital. A qualitative method was used in this study, applying a case study type with a multi-site design. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion drawing. The data were analyzed from both single-site and cross-site data. The research findings on the integration of Islamic Human Rights principles in the Citizen’s Charter show that the concept of integrating IHR principles into the Citizen’s Charter in the health service sector develops the concept proposed by Khan and Nasir in Medical Ethics in Islam: Implications for the Citizen’s Charter. The findings expand this into several components: the Right to Quality Health Services, Accessibility, Transparency and Informativeness, Non-Discrimination, Community or Patient Participation in Decision-Making, Accountability, Balanced and Proportional Structuring, and Responsibility — all applied in support of community welfare and quality of life. In terms of Islamic Human Rights, the integration of Islamic medical ethics principles with the Citizen’s Charter creates a healthcare service that is ethical, transparent, just, and patient-centered. By incorporating Islamic moral values such as rahmah (compassion), amanah (trust), adl (justice), and hifz al-‘ird (protection of dignity), the implementation of the Citizen’s Charter can be more effective and sustainable. The formulation stage of Citizen’s Charter-based medical services from the IHR perspective involves four stages: formulation, service implementation, and service evaluation. One notable finding is the promotion phase — including the promotional efforts conducted by both Mardiwaluyo Regional Hospital and the Sananwetan Community Health Center.

Abstract

Background: Atherosclerosis is a major finding in cardiovascular disease. One of the pro-fibrotic cytokines that play an important role in the atherosclerosis process is Tumor Growth Factor (TGF)-β1, where the presence of high TGF-β1 secretion due to hypercholesterolemia will trigger excessive collagen matrix formation. Objective: To analyze Rhizophora sp fruit extract effect on TGF-β1 expression in high cholesterol diet-fed rats. Material and Methods: Eighteen 10-week-old rats weighing 150-200 g were used in this study. These animals were grouped into 3 groups, each consisting of 6 rats. Group A (normal control) is a group of rats that received a normal diet. Group B (atherogenic control) received a diet that induces atherosclerosis (atherogenic diet). This diet contains 2% cholesterol, 5% goat fat, 0.2% cholic acid and standard diet up to 100%. Atherogenic diet was given for 3 days, and on the first day this group also received vitamin D3 700,000 IU/kg. Group C (treated), apart from receiving an atherogenic diet, was also given Rhizophora sp fruit extract 500 mg/kg body weight. The Rhizophora sp fruit extract effect on TGF-β1 expression was evaluated by immunohistochemical procedure. The area of the expression is calculated using the ImageJ. Results: The results of this study indicate that the expression of TGF-β1 is higher in the group receiving the atherogenic diet than the normal control group (17.3 vs. 8.9; P=0.000). Rhizophora sp fruit extract reduced this expression remarkably (17.3 vs. 11.4; P=0.001). Conclusion: Rhizophora sp fruit extract inhibits the the expression of TGF-β1 in high cholesterol diet-fed rats.
