Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of gadget use on social behavior and learning effectiveness of students at SMK Arrasyadiyah, Serang City. Along with the development of digital technology, the use of gadgets among students is increasingly widespread, including its use as a learning tool, entertainment, and social communication. This study aims to analyze the impact of gadget use on social behavior and learning effectiveness of students through a qualitative approach. Data collection methods include observation and in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and schools. The results of the study show a dual impact of gadget use. Positively, gadgets increase students' access to information and expand their social networks. However, negatively, excessive gadget use can reduce direct social interaction, decrease interpersonal communication skills, and disrupt focus and concentration in learning. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of managing gadget use wisely. The role of teachers and parents is crucial in guiding students to use gadgets for academic purposes without sacrificing their social interactions. Therefore, this study recommends the development of school policies that regulate the use of gadgets in learning. This policy is expected to maximize the benefits of technology while minimizing the negative impacts on students' social and academic development. Thus, students can utilize technology optimally to support their learning process without ignoring the importance of healthy social interactions.

Abstract

This study investigates the complex nature of organizational culture in educational institutions by analyzing its core components, influencing factors, and strategic improvement approaches through a systematic literature review. Recognizing the pivotal role of organizational culture as a determinant of institutional effectiveness, this research synthesizes theoretical perspectives and empirical findings from peer-reviewed studies published between 2013 and 2023. Guided by PRISMA protocols, the review encompasses literature sourced from major academic databases, including, SINTA, Garuda, Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and ScienceDirect, and applies thematic analysis to extract patterns, frameworks, and practical insights. The findings reveal that organizational culture in education is constituted by interrelated elements—values, norms, artifacts, and assumptions—which collectively shape institutional behavior, learning environments, and stakeholder interactions. When strategically aligned with institutional goals, these cultural components foster a collaborative climate, enhance teacher motivation and student outcomes, and contribute to conflict resolution and institutional resilience. The study concludes that the cultivation of a coherent and strategically reinforced culture, supported by transformative leadership and inclusive communication, is essential for achieving sustainable educational excellence. The research provides a comprehensive conceptual framework and offers actionable recommendations for educational leaders and policymakers to embed culture as a strategic lever for systemic improvement in dynamic and competitive educational contexts.

Abstract

How is the leadership regeneration process at Al Mizan Modern Islamic Boarding School and Darussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School, and what factors support and hinder the implementation of leadership regeneration at Al Mizan Modern Islamic Boarding School and Darussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School in Pandeglang. This study uses qualitative methods. Data collection uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that the leadership regeneration pattern is different in each Islamic boarding school. Al Mizan Modern Islamic Boarding School adopts an open management leadership regeneration pattern, while Darussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School adopts a combination of inheritance systems and inserts an open management pattern on the other side. The regeneration process at the Al Mizan Modern Islamic Boarding School is carried out through the instillation of values, delegation & job descriptions, recruitment of experts, scholarships, developing HR skills, and complex staffing, while the leadership regeneration process at the Darussalam modern Islamic boarding school is carried out through education, and instilling values in good examples and role models. The novelty of this research is that the Al Mizan Pandeglang Modern Islamic Boarding School has carried out the ideal leadership cadre process, while the Darussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School is still in the pioneering phase towards the ideal leadership cadre formation of Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Purpose- This study aims to analyze the effect of madrasah principals' managerial accountability, pedagogical competence, and spiritual competence on teacher performance at the State Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) in Banten, Indonesia. The study counteracts the paradox of continual low performance among teachers in Islamic schools despite implementing several reform efforts.Methodology- A sample of 163 MAN teachers (a purposive sampling) was used for the quantitative inferential study. Information was gathered through questionnaires, structured observations, interviews, and documentation. At the same time, there were validated and reliable instruments for every variable: management accountability (X₁), pedagogic competence (X₂), spiritual competence (X₃), and teacher performance Y). Statistical analyses included classical assumption tests, partial correlations, multiple regression, and ANOVA.Findings- Results of this study show that all the independent variables have a significant and positive influence on teachers' performance, where 78.2% combined contribution. The latent variable of pedagogical competency had the most significant partial effect on work environment (β = 0.452), followed by spirituality competence (β = 0.390) and managerial accountability (β = 0.125). These findings demonstrate the significance of pedagogical competencies in professional practice and confirm the vital importance of moral leadership and internalized spiritual foundations.Contribution- Our study is of empirical significance as it decontextualizes spiritual competence from a religious virtue for personal development and considers spirituality not only to be among the teacher's individual traits, but also a measurable expertise essential to good practice in Islamic education. This study contributes to the literature by examining the link between management accountability and teacher performance at the classroom level, which has not often been examined in previous research.
