Abstract

This research examines the Mathematical Problem Solving Ability of Students Against Mathematics Learning in the Subject of the Association. The research was conducted at Mts Raudhatul Akmal in the odd semester, namely in 2022/2023. The population used for this research was MTs students who were in class VII as many as 80 students. The research was carried out in the form of giving questions that were distributed by the teacher to each student in the form of a test of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. Data analysis used prerequisite test of linear regression model, correlation coefficient test of Pearson/Product Moment formula, correlation coefficient t test, and coefficient of determination. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between mathematical problem solving abilities and students' mathematical communication abilities as a whole. That is, the higher the mathematical problem solving ability, the higher the student's mathematical communication ability. On the contrary, at the high, medium, and low ability levels, the relationship that occurs is a negative relationship. meaning that the higher the mathematical problem solving ability, the lower the mathematical communication ability.

Abstract

This research aims to study how first-gradestudents improve their reading skills by using digital picture word cards. This study uses the ADDIE development model and is a development research. The sampling technique in this study used simple random sampling by using the Slovin formula in determining the sample. The one-group posttest technique used in this study the experimental class followed the same experimental methodology. Normality and homogeneity tests were used in qualitative and quantitative data analysis methodology. The results of the analysis showed that with a percentage of 92.73%, the professional assessment of learning media design. With a percentage of 90%, the expert assessment of the learning media content is included in the very correct category. With a proportion of 95%, the linguist's assessment of educational media is included. With excellent criteria, the overall validation level of linguists, design experts, and material experts is 92.58%. This digital flash card media turned out to be feasible to use as a learning tool and can improve students' reading skills. The results showed a significant difference between students' initial reading test scores on the pretest and posttest. This conclusion is reinforced by the results of the Piered Sample Test which shows the variance in students' initial reading using digital picture word card media between pretest and posttest with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, it can be said that the use of digital flash card media can help children in elementary schools acquire basic reading skills.

Abstract

Literasi merupakan keterampilan dasar yang sangat menentukan kualitas pendidikan. Namun, hasil PISA 2018 menunjukkan kemampuan membaca siswa Indonesia masih rendah, dan di SDN 045957 Desa Suka ditemukan banyak siswa, bahkan hingga kelas VI, belum lancar membaca. Kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya penelitian strategi pembelajaran literasi di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program les membaca yang melibatkan guru dan mahasiswa KKN mampu meningkatkan minat dan kemampuan membaca siswa. Metode Eja, strategi membaca terbimbing, serta media edukatif terbukti efektif membantu siswa dari aspek teknis maupun psikologis. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan karena memberikan solusi praktis dalam mengatasi rendahnya literasi sekaligus menumbuhkan budaya membaca sejak dini.

Abstract

The study conducted at MAS YPRA Batang Kuis aimed to examine the effectiveness of a scientific learning model assisted by animated videos compared to a traditional learning model. The research involved Grade 10 students at MAS YPRA Batang Kuis, located in Batang Kuis District, Deli Serdang Regency. A total of 64 students participated, with Class X Science 1 assigned as the experimental class and Class X Science 2 as the control class. Data analysis showed that the experimental class obtained a pretest score of 930 and a posttest score of 2416, with an increase of 67.76% in the good category. The control class obtained a pretest score of 800 and a posttest score of 2110, with an increase of 62.08%, also in the good category. Hypothesis testing concluded that Ho was accepted and Ha rejected, indicating a significant difference between the two learning models. Students taught using the animated video-assisted scientific model demonstrated better conceptual understanding than those taught using the traditional learning model.

Abstract

This study aimed to design and examine the feasibility of a web-based Virtual Field Trip (VFT) learning media integrated with the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on mangrove ecosystem materials to improve environmental literacy of students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN). The method used was Research and Development (R&D), which consisted of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects involved tenth-grade MAN students, with practicality and effectiveness testing conducted. The results showed that the web-based VFT media had a very high level of practicality based on students’ and teachers’ responses and was effective in improving students’ environmental literacy. Project-based learning through virtual exploration helped students understand mangrove ecosystem concepts more contextually and foster environmental awareness. In conclusion, the web-based VFT media is feasible to be used as an innovative and contextual Biology learning media to enhance environmental literacy of MAN students. Abstract

The demands of the 21st century extend beyond the mere mastery of knowledge; they require individuals to develop a robust set of skills, particularly in understanding complex concepts. This research focuses on creating Student Worksheets rooted in the Project Based Learning model to enhance students' comprehension in biology. To achieve this, the research employs the 4D development model, which includes four phases: Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. Data collection involved validating the product's feasibility, gathering feedback from both teachers and students, and conducting pretests and posttests, followed by N-Gain analysis. The data analysis encompassed three main techniques: validity analysis, practical analysis, and effectiveness analysis. The findings indicated a high degree of validity, with material validation reaching 93% (categorized as "very valid"), media validation at 99. 16% (also "very valid"), and question validation at 83. 33% ("very valid"). The practical assessment from teacher responses yielded a remarkable 97%, classified as "very practical," while student responses reflected a score of 93. 03% in the same category. Additionally, the N-Gain results revealed an average improvement in students' concept understanding of 0. 8, categorized as "very effective. " In conclusion, the evidence from the validity, practical, and effectiveness assessments strongly suggests that these Student Worksheets can significantly enhance students' understanding of key biological concepts

Abstract

The activity to determine the completeness and suitability of the content of the book material being analyzed, even though the books published and used by the school have passed validation tests both in terms of material content, completeness of material and images, as well as supporting learning. Evaluating the feasibility of biology textbook content in terms of environmental literacy is crucial to ensure that the presented materials go beyond fundamental biological concepts and effectively foster students’ awareness and competencies in responding to environmental challenges. This research aims to evaluate the feasibility of biology textbook content from the perspective of environmental literacy, specifically examining 2 biology textbooks of first Grade high school which published by Grafindo Media Pratama and Erlangga, which are utilized in the teaching and learning process. This research uses quantitative methods with data analysis in this research using descriptive statistics. Assessment of Environmental Aspects in Textbook I and Textbook II for High School Biology has a score of 35.55 with fairly good criteria according to the assessment criteria. Environmental literacy that appears frequently in the analyzed biology textbooks is knowledge of ecology and natural history as well as knowledge of environmental problems and issues. This study reveals that while biology textbooks emphasize cognitive aspects of environmental literacy, they lack affective and contextual content essential for fostering responsible environmental behavior. Its novelty lies in the localized analysis of textbook content, highlighting gaps rarely addressed in existing research

Abstract

This research This exploration intends to further develop understudies' innovative reasoning abilities through role-playing learning models on the digestive system material at senior high school of SMAN 2 Sidikalang, Dairi Regency. In order to accomplish this goal, A quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group was utilized in a quantitative study design. There were 60 subjects in all; The experimental and control group was using 30 person second grade (XI) MIPA on each part. the hypothesis was tested using t-independent data analysis to see how much influence and there was a difference in the students ability for creative thinking between the class that exclusively used the conventional method of learning and other class. The data for this study used an instrument, namely essay questions in the form of pre-test questions (before being treated) and post-test questions (after being treated), to quantify creative thinking skill. The SPSS v26 factual investigation results showed that The experimental class had an average worth of 80.00, whereas the control class had an average worth of 75.00, the T-test was performed to further demonstrate whether the difference was significant, where the Sig value (2-tailed) was 0.027 <0.05. In descriptive statistics, There were differences in the average level of creative thinking among students in the experimental and control groups. The t-test results showed that there was a significant difference between role-playing and simulation learning in terms of enhancing students' capacity for creative thinking skill

Abstract. Azwar E, Sularno, Waruwu FP, Tarigan MRM, Ulfa SW, Djaingsastro AJ. 2023. Diversity of Penaeidae at the Teluk Mengkudu Waters, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 24: 1376-1384. Microscopic animals play an important role in the growth of marine biota. Crustaceans are a marine biota group often found in waters and have high economic value. Crustaceans also have a significant role in coral reef ecosystems, contributing around 20% of all invertebrate species. Crustaceans are an important group of microbenthic fauna in coastal ecosystems, ranging from mangroves, coral reefs, and seagrass ecosystems. This present study was conducted from April to June 2022 to identify Penaeidae diversity in Teluk Mengkudu waters, Serdang Bedagai District, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. Furthermore, it used a purposive sampling method to harvest crustacean species near the waters. An exploratory method was applied with quantitative data collection to select Penaeidae crustaceans from the catches retrieved by fishermen. The tools used in this study were boat,  net, fiber, knife, compass, flags, camera, notebook, ice cubes, a thermometer, pH meter, and DO meter. The material used in this study was shrimp caught by fishers. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation with fishing communities about catching crustaceans at the study site. Data analysis uses the formula diversity, evenness, knowledge richness, and dominance index. Based on the results, Penaeus indicus H.Milne Edwards, 1837 and Metapenaeus ensis (De Haan, 1844) were the two species obtained from the Penaeidae family. The evenness index for P. indicus and M. ensis was respectively highest in June (0.237 and 0.519) but lowest in May (0.203 and 0.510)  with a total value of 2.212. Also, the prominent richness index for both species was respectively highest in June (5.762 and 29.371) but lowest in May (4.568 and 27.053). The highest dominance index (D) was measured in May, where the highest D value of P. indicus was 0.003, and the lowest was 0.002. The highest D of M. ensis was discovered in June, namely 0.086, while the lowest, at 0.073, was recorded in May, and in general, both species had a total D of 0.245. Parameters of salinity, pH, temperature, substrate, and oxygen strongly influence crustacean diversity. The parameters measured in the study area included temperature (28?), salinity (20-35 ppt), DO (6.8 mg/L), and pH (6.7).

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran pada beberapa sekolah belum dilaksanakan secara optimal. Saat melakukan observasi lapangan, sesuai kenyataan yang terjadi di temukan beberapa hal seperti, 1) guru belum memusatkan pembelajaran, 2) kurangnya peran siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, 3) suasana yang kurang kondusif. Dalam hal ini pendekatan pembelajaran yang cocok untuk digunakan yaitu kombinasi pendekatan Joyful Learning berbantukan metode Mind Maps dalam kombinasi pendekatan dan metode ini maka akan terlihat bagaimana siswa dapat berperan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Joyful Learning terhadap hasil belajar pada materi sistem koordinasi kelas XI MIA SMA NEGERI 1 PANCURBATU. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Quasi Eksperiment dengan menggunakan desain pretest posttes control group design dengan dua kelas yaitu eksperimen dan kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes yang berupa piliha berganda. Teknik analisis data menggunakan program SPSS versi 22. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan “Independent sample t test” dan uji regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,005 < 0,05, dan nilai R² 0,976, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa H₀ ditolak dan Hₐ diterima. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi sebagai dasar pertimbangan, pendukung dan sumbangan pemikiran untuk penelitian berikutnya.
