Abstract

Introduction: Management and services of Sharia hospitals require high quality institutional standards covering organization, human resources, facilities, services, and financial systems designed in accordance with Islamic Sharia principles. This study aims to empirically examine the effect of implementing these Sharia hospital standards on patient satisfaction in Indonesia, where faith based expectations significantly influence healthcare experiences. Methods: This quantitative study employed a Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) approach based on primary data. A total of 195 respondents were selected through purposive sampling from two certified Sharia compliant hospitals in Indonesia, Tangerang City Hospital and RSI Sari Asih Serang. Results: Bivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between all five Sharia hospital standard domains and patient satisfaction. Multivariate analysis, however, identified that only the facilities variable had a statistically significant effect, highlighting the central role of religiously congruent infrastructure. Conclusion: This study provides new empirical insights into the implementation of Sharia hospital standards by demonstrating that certified facilities enhance patient satisfaction particularly through physical environments that align with Islamic values. These findings contribute to the development of culturally responsive healthcare policies in Muslim majority settings.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a 3D storybook using realistic mathematics education (RME) approach and augmented reality (AR) technology to enhance students' spatial ability. We used the ‘Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation’ (ADDIE) development model and involved 34 eighth-grade students of SMP N 15 Yogyakarta – a public junior high school in Indonesia. During the development, we underwent several interviews, observations, asking experts’ validation to the content and the media, asking students’ response to the product, and tests related to the students' spatial ability. The results suggest that the content validation got an average score of 109 (good criteria), the media validation got an average score of 48.16 (good criteria), and the students response got an average score of 78.36 (very good criteria). At the end of the stage, there are still found an obstacle during the testing of the 3D storybook, namely the time required to load the 3D content. It makes some students encounter difficulty to access it, indicating the need for further development. However, the final product could facilitate the students to exercise their spatial ability using the 3D storybook while learning geometry.

Abstract

This study examines the legal issue of fathers deliberately neglecting child support obligations following divorce, despite existing court rulings mandating such support. The research aims to analyze the criminal liability of fathers who intentionally disregard post-divorce child support obligations and to assess this issue within the context of national and Islamic law. This study employs a normative juridical method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The findings reveal that fathers who intentionally fail to provide child support after divorce can be classified as committing child neglect, which constitutes a criminal offense under Indonesian law, specifically the Child Protection Law No. 35 of 2014 and the Criminal Code, with potential penalties of up to five years' imprisonment or fines. From the perspective of Islamic law, a father’s obligation to support his child remains intact regardless of marital status, as stipulated in the Qur'an and the Compilation of Islamic Law. This research highlights that protecting children’s rights is a fundamental responsibility of the state, family, and society, which must be enforced firmly through civil and criminal measures to create a deterrent effect for fathers who neglect their obligations. Consistent and integrated legal enforcement is essential to ensure that children receive their rightful support, enabling them to grow and develop properly while preventing psychological and social harm resulting from the father's deliberate neglect after divorce. These findings call upon legal practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to strengthen enforcement frameworks, foster legal awareness among fathers, and uphold children’s welfare as a priority within post-divorce family structures.
