Abstract

The high consumption of noodles has made noodles popular as instant or fast food. Its high demand has led to the production of various noodle variants, including low-carb and high-vitamin noodles. One of innovations is catfish-based and moringa leaves-based noodle which has been successfully carried out through the Pro Ide scheme by Diploma IV Keuangan Daerah students in the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jambi (FEB UNJA). This innovation has gained Intellectual Property Rights (HKI). FEB UNJA lecturers and students are involved in community service in Mekar Sari Village, Maro Sebo Ulu District, Batang Hari Regency, Jambi Province. The team developed the potential of the Batang Hari river and ponds, especially catfish and carp farming. This opens up opportunities for product diversification and downstreaming of fish into noodles. The development of a business model has great potential through innovations that enable knowledge and technology transfer. In addition, this business model focuses on capacity building, technology transfer, market access, and empowerment of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), one of which is by making noodles with catfish and moringa leaves as the main ingredients.

Abstract

Sipin Lake Area, located in the middle of Jambi City, Jambi Province, is not only developed as a tourist destination but also as a place to stimulate economic activities for the community. Its strategic location has become a focus for the government and the academic community, particularly in the management of the tourism area. One aspect of management that is currently not fully implemented and requires full attention is the inadequate spatial planning. The lack of public awareness in managing the Sipin Lake Tourism Area will undoubtedly affect the number of visitors to the lake. Good spatial governance is an important consideration when visiting a tourist destination. However, when observing the current condition of the Sipin Lake tourism area, it is far from being considered well-managed in terms of spatial planning. The role of the academic community is crucial in realizing good spatial management around the Sipin Lake Area. It is necessary to increase the awareness of the local community to continue managing the Sipin Lake Tourism Area. The community's concern for the importance of proper spatial management in the tourism area is expected to enhance the attraction of tourists to visit the Sipin Lake tourist attraction. The community engagement activities carried out by the academic community of the University of Jambi will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of the Sipin Lake tourist attraction and raise public awareness of the importance of good management in preserving and sustaining the Sipin Lake tourist attraction.

Abstract

The culinary business in Jambi Province, including Batang Hari Regency, continues to be developed as an effort to increase the consumption of fish and improve income. The abundance of resources in Mekar Sari Village, particularly in terms of catfish, presents a significant opportunity to enhance its value added by transforming it into catfish noodles. Additionally, catfish can be cultivated rapidly and in sufficient quantities, making it a promising raw material resource. With a sizable market share, noodles are a widely preferred food. Catfish-based noodle products have a vast market potential due to the increasing demand for noodles. In the food business, product diversification takes the form of catfish noodles, providing customers with new options. Noodles made from catfish add value to the end product. Catfish noodles can offer additional nutritional benefits to consumers as catfish is a rich source of protein, vitamins, and essential minerals for human health. By increasing the financial value of their catch, catfish producers can gain greater influence. This can enhance the well-being of catfish farmers by increasing their income. Transforming the added value of catfish into noodles opens up new business prospects, boosts the income of catfish breeders, and contributes to the growth of a sustainable fisheries industry.
