Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has profoundly transformed education and other aspects of life. In the 21st century, digital literacy has become a core competence for secondary school students to navigate academic, social, and professional environments. However, assessment efforts remain inconsistent, as most instruments are designed for university students or teachers. This study aims to identify and analyze research on digital literacy assessment instruments for secondary education through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol. Guided by the PICOS framework, 22 articles published between 2021 and 2025 were selected from six international databases (Scopus, ERIC, Google Scholar, SpringerLink, Garuda, and DOAJ Indonesia). The findings demonstrate a rapid increase in research on digital literacy assessment, with the DigComp 2.1 and UNESCO MIL frameworks being the most widely adopted, while several countries, including Indonesia, have developed localized models. Psychometric analyses reveal a methodological shift toward modern approaches such as the Rasch Model, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Aiken’s V, ensuring stronger construct validity. These findings underscore significant implications for curriculum development, educational policy, and learning strategies. Overall, this study strengthens the conceptual and psychometric foundations of digital literacy assessment and offers strategic guidance for developing valid, reliable, and contextually grounded instruments to enhance education in the digital era.

Abstract

Besei Kambe is a traditional Dayak game from Central Kalimantan in which two teams compete by pulling a jukung on the water. Beyond its cultural significance, this activity embodies various physics concepts that can be utilized as contextual learning resources. This study aims to identify and analyze the physical principles that emerge during the practice of Besei Kambe, particularly those related to Newton’s laws, action–reaction forces, and resultant forces. Through qualitative analysis based on illustrative observation and literature review, the study reveals that the motion dynamics of the boat and the interactions between the paddlers and the water reflect direct applications of these fundamental physics concepts. These findings indicate Newton’s First Law appears when the boat remains still under balanced forces, Newton’s Second Law when an unbalanced force causes acceleration, and Newton’s Third Law in the action–reaction interaction between the paddle and the water. These findings demonstrate that Besei Kambe naturally represents fundamental mechanics principles and can serve as an effective contextual resource for physics learning grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

Physics is one of the subjects that students find difficult to understand. Physics is not only a science that requires memorization, but also requires a deep understanding of its concepts. Physics studies natural phenomena physically and is written in mathematical form, thus emphasizing the aspect of conceptual understanding. In addition to conceptual understanding, another important aspect is student involvement in the learning process. One important topic that needs to be studied is mirrors. The topic of mirrors will be easier to understand if it is practiced so that students can understand it better. Therefore, Phet simulation media is needed.  The purpose of this study is to explain the differences in understanding the concept of mirrors between students who use PBL plus PhET and students who use regular PBL, as well as to analyze the differences in student engagement in learning about mirrors between students who use PBL plus PhET and students who use regular PBL. The population in this study consisted of 64 students from MA Mathalibul Huda and 64 students from MA Darul Hikmah Menganti. Data collection methods included tests, observations, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using N-Gain and t-tests. Based on the research results, there is a difference in concept comprehension between the PBL Plus and regular PBL learning models, with the PBL Plus class achieving a higher average post-test score of 81.03, while the regular PBL class achieved an average post-test score of 62.31. The N-Gain value - Gain of the regular PBL class was 0.22, while the N-Gain value of the PBL Plus class was 0.58, which is categorized as moderate. The T-test  resulted in a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.00 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL Plus learning model is effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding of mirror material. In addition, there is also a difference in student learning engagement between the PBL Plus class and the regular PBL class, where PBL Plus shows that the category of active students is higher than that of the regular PBL class based on 4 indicators of student learning engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in mathematical literacy skills based onthe PISA model among junior high school students in the Space and Shape contentarea in terms of gender. The research employed a quantitative comparativeapproach with an ex-post facto design. The subjects consisted of 29 eighth-gradestudents from SMP Negeri 1 Bilah Barat, comprising 16 male and 13 femalestudents. The research instrument was a set of five mathematical literacy test itemsbased on the PISA model focusing on Space and Shape. Data analysis began witha normality test using Shapiro-Wilk and a homogeneity of variance test usingLevene’s Test. The results showed that the data for female students were notnormally distributed (Sig. = 0.002), while the data for male students were normallydistributed (Sig. = 0.054), and both groups had homogeneous variances (Sig. =0.710). Therefore, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test was used to test thehypothesis. The result showed a significance value of 0.180 (p > 0.05), indicatingthat there is no significant difference in mathematical literacy skills between maleand female students in the Space and Shape content based on the PISA model. These findings suggest that gender is not a significant factor in differentiatingstudents' mathematical literacy abilities in this context.
