Abstract

The integration of various learning content is important in the education process to develop the multi-competences of graduates. This is a response to the Industrial Revolution 4.0. ICT helps graduates compete and master the competencies needed in various scientific fields, especially physics. Efforts to build ICT literacy in learning Physics must complete an evaluation tool containing comprehensive Physics content. The ICT literacy test instrument as an evaluation tool can be packaged with scratch programming activities to help uncover ICT literacy based on computational physics concepts. This study aims to develop an ICT literacy test instrument with physics content based on Scratch programming for middle-level students. This research is development research with a research stage adapted from the development stage by Borg and Gall, including (1) Potential and problem analysis; (2) Data collection; (3) Product design; (4) Design validation and design revision; (5) Product trial; (6) Analysis and reporting. The test subjects were 106 students. The Physics ICT questions were developed to consist of 20 questions. Based on the validity test, a total percentage of 85.33% is obtained with proper criteria. The reliability of the test is shown by the results of calculations with Alpha Cron of 0.716 high categories. Overall, the PICT test is feasible to be used as an ICT literacy test for Physics content.

Abstract

Setiap peserta didik memiliki kesiapan, potensi, kemampuan, karakter, dan gaya belajar yang berbeda-beda. Perbedaan-perbedaan di dalam diri peserta didik membutuhkan pembelajaran atau perlakuan yang berbeda pula untuk mengoptimalkan potensi yang dimiliki. Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menjadi jawaban bagi guru untuk memberikan pembelajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik peserta didik. Namun, kenyataannya di lapangan masih banyak guru yang belum memiliki pemahaman yang komprehensif terkait pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dan penyusunan asesmennya dan pemahaman antar guru masih sering terjadi perbedaan penafsiran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman atau literasi guru terkait pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dan penyusunan asesmennya, serta bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi serta penyusunan asesmennya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan terhadap 72 guru di korwilcam Bancak, Kabupaten Semarang dan beberapa guru di Malaysia. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu pemahaman guru terkait pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menjadi meningkat dari yang awalnya sebelum pelatihan guru yang paham hanya 20% dan setelah pelatihan guru-guru 100% menjadi paham dengan rincian 88% menyatakan sangat paham, 10% menyatakan paham, dan 2% menyatakan cukup paham. Selain itu, guru-guru juga menyatakan keterampilannya meningkat dari yang awalnya sebelum pelatihan guru yang terampil hanya 20% dan setelah pelatihan guru-guru 100% menjadi terampil dengan rincian 85% menyatakan sangat meningkat, 12% menyatakan meningkat dan 3% menyatakan cukup meningkat. Para guru juga menyatakan bahwa buku panduan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan pemahaman guru terkait pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, dimana sebesar 95% guru menyatakan sangat bermanfaat dan 5% guru menyatakan bermanfaat.

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the areas of basic literacy that PISA focuses on. Science literacy is essence of learning in the 21st century. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate instruments to assess science literacy in the area of additives and addictive substances. The researcher refers to the modified PISA framework and Bloom's Revised Taxonomy. The developed instrument was tested for reliability and validity using the Aiken V method and the Rasch model. The research respondents consisted of 47 students from two junior high schools: a public school and a private school that has been accredited A. The results of the analysis showed that the instrument has validity. The results of the analysis showed that of the 25 items given there were 24 valid items, the resulting Cronbach's alpha value of 0.86 showed very good criteria, it can be concluded that the instrument has high validity and good reliability. This instrument is expected to be used to measure the quality of education and science literacy of students in Indonesia.

Abstract

As a result of interviews with class VIII science teachers at SMP Negeri 15 Semarang, information was obtained that most of the teaching materials used in the Archimedes law material were still in the form of printed teaching materials (student worksheet, modules and textbooks), PPTs and learning videos. The available teaching materials are not yet fully electronic, thus preventing students from accessing learning without time and space limitations. This causes students' numeracy and science literacy skills to be low. The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of STEM-based digital student worksheet, test the feasibility of STEM-based student worksheet, analyze the increase in numeracy and science literacy after using STEM-based digital student worksheet. This research uses research and development methods. This method can be used to develop teaching materials, namely digital student worksheet. The design of the digital student worksheet development research is based on the Thiagarajan 4D model which includes the definition stage, design stage, development stage and dissemination stage. The research results show that this digital student worksheet is designed to be interactive, containing elements such as links, moving images, audio and video which can increase students' numeracy and science literacy; the results of the digital student worksheet feasibility assessment obtained feasible criteria with a result score of 0.85 (media) and 0.84 (material). The results of this research show that there is an increase in the N-Gain value.

Abstract

Critical thinking and scientific literacy must be cultivated and mastered by students in science learning in the 21st century. This research aims to determine the validity, feasibility, and effectiveness of increasing critical thinking and scientific literacy skills on ethnoscience-based electronic student worksheets developed focusing on additive material. The development of this ethnoscience-based electronic student worksheet followed the ADDIE model using mixed methods. Data collection methods included interviews, distribution of teacher and student questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The validity of ethnoscience-based electronic worksheets obtained a material validity value of 0.98 and a media validity value of 0.97, both of which met the valid and appropriate criteria. Ethnoscience-based electronic worksheets have been proven to be effective in increasing critical thinking competence with an N-Gain score of 0.86 and also effective in increasing scientific literacy competence with an N-Gain score of 0.87, both of which meet the high criteria. In summary, research on the development of an ethnoscience-based electronic student worksheet has been deemed to have a very high level of feasibility and validity and is highly effective in improving the critical thinking and scientific literacy of junior high school students.

Abstract

Peningkatan kualitas pendidikan membutuhkan supervisi akademik yang efektif untuk mendukung pengembangan profesional guru. Di era digital, penerapan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) dalam supervisi menjadi pendekatan inovatif untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas proses supervisi. Penelitian ini menganalisis efektifitas implementasi supervisi akademik berbasis TIK di MTsN 3 Grobogan,  tantangan yang dihadapi dan dampaknya terhadap kualitas pembelajaran serta keterampilan teknologi guru. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui kuesioner guru, kuesioner Kepala Sekolah, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pemanfaatan TIK secara signifikan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam pengajaran. Mayoritas guru mampu mengintegrasikan TIK dengan baik dalam supervisi dan pembelajaran. Namun, terdapat beberapa kendala, seperti keterbatasan perangkat, akses internet, dan kurangnya pelatihan teknologi. Dukungan kepala sekolah melalui pelatihan tahunan dan pengadaan fasilitas teknologi membantu mengatasi sebagian kendala ini, tetapi pengembangan lebih lanjut masih diperlukan. Kesimpulannya, implementasi supervisi berbasis TIK telah berhasil meningkatkan kualitas supervisi dan pembelajaran, namun keberlanjutan program melalui penguatan fasilitas dan pelatihan tambahan sangat dibutuhkan. Hasil ini memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengelolaan supervisi berbasis teknologi untuk mendukung pendidikan yang lebih berkualitas.

Abstract

Indonesia implements the Merdeka Curriculum, which focuses on cultivating Pancasila education. The dimensions of the Pancasila student profile consist of critical and independent thinking, which are also found in the 21st-century skills, and STEM-based learning may be one of the solutions to improving the two dimensions. This research aims to unveil the impact of applying STEM-based interactive multimedia on vibrations and waves, particularly in improving students' critical thinking skills and learning independence. The method was experimental research with a nonequivalent group pretest-posttest design, in which the experimental class used STEM-based interactive multimedia while the control class used PowerPoints. Experts validated the multimedia and instrument before the implementation, and the effectivity was measured using the t-test. The results revealed that the multimedia effect on critical thinking skills scored 5.6763 t-count > 2.0025 t-table, while the impact on learning independence was 7.3462 t-count > 2.0025 t-table. The outcomes show significant differences between the experimental and control classes; therefore, we conclude that STEM-based interactive multimedia is effective in improving critical thinking skills and learning independence.

Abstract

STEM literacy is crucial in the 21st century, encompassing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, allowing individuals to understand and apply conceptual knowledge to real-life problems. Evaluation of STEM literacy instruments is essential for improving the quality of STEM learning. This study aims to evaluate the STEM literacy test instrument using multidimensional Rasch analysis. This study employed a quantitative approach, including a description to validate the research instrument. The instrument consists of 22 items measuring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics literacy, focusing on elements, compounds, and mixtures. Participants included 259 eighth-grade students randomly selected from public junior high schools in Balongpanggang and Benjeng, Gresik, East Java. Data analysis employed a Rasch model with ConQuest programs. Results indicated that the multidimensional model had better-fit parameters than the unidimensional model and demonstrated that the item's validity and instrument's reliability meet requirements. The interaction between students' abilities and items revealed that most students have moderate to low STEM literacy abilities. Additionally, the analysis found no differential item functioning based on gender differences. This research indicates that multidimensional Rasch analysis helps evaluate STEM literacy test instruments so that valid and reliable instruments can provide accurate measurements in improving students' STEM literacy skills.

Abstract

The National Assessment policy, well-known as Asesmen Nasional (AN), as the replacement for the National Examination, had been implemented. The Minimum Competency Assessment or Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) is a part of AN, which examines the reading, numeracy literacies and the cultivation of good character for the students. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the implementation of AKM faces challenges for every educational system in improving the literacy rate among the students. Therefore, learning media is highly required which following the needs and the characteristics of students as well as the environmental condition so that it can be used for either online or offline learning. The research purpose is to develop a digital product of illustrated storybooks to prepare the students in facing the AKM. The research and development process is according to the ADDIE model, with a quasi-experimental trial design. The digital illustrated storybooks are designed based on the competency achievement of AKM, particularly the reading and numeracy literacies. The research result shows that the product of the illustrated storybooks demonstrates the criteria according to the needs, characteristics and environmental conditions. The digital illustrated storybooks are also considered suitable for the students, lead the students easily understand the content, attractive and effectively used in the learning process for the First Grade of elementary school students. Furthermore, the digital illustrated storybooks are proven to help the students in improving the reading and numeracy literacies in accordance with the achievements in the AKM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kebisingan suara di lingkungan SMP Negeri 02 Demak dan hubungannya dengan proses belajar mengajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berbasis “experimental method”. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah gedung sekolah SMP Negeri 02 Demak. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling pada kelas-kelas tertentu, yaitu kelas 1D, 1E, 2A, 2B, 2E, 2F, 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, dan 3F. Pengambilan data dengan teknik pengukuran dengan alat bantu “Sound Level Meter” serta teknik angket dan teknik wawancara. Analisis data diperoleh tingkat kebisingan suara di lingkungan SMP Negeri 02 Demak sekitar 68,30 dB sampai 74,80 dB. Besarnya intrusi bunyi berkisar 62,28 dB sampai 67,94 dB. Hasil ini menunjukkan tingkat kebisingan suara di lingkungan SMP Negeri 02 Demak telah melebihi kriteria bising yang direkomendasikan untuk ruang kelas, yaitu 30 dB sampai 35 dB. Hasil analisis angket dan wawancara menunjukkan kegiatan belajar mengajar di beberapa kelas terpengaruh dan terganggu oleh kebisingan suara dari kendaraan-kendaraan yang berasal dari jalan raya di sekitar lingkungan sekolah dan dampaknya nilai ulangan harian relatif lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan kelas yang jauh dari kebisingan. Hasil penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi sekolah dan pemerintah daerah untuk evaluasi perbaikan tata ruang hingga menambah fasilitas peredam suara. Hasil penelitian ini sejalan dengan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs) yaitu tentang kehidupan sehat, pendidikan berkualitas, dan lingkungan belajar yang berkelanjutan dan nyaman bagi seluruh warga sekolah.
