Abstract

This study aimed to describe the use of natural materials as  educational game tool in learning. The population of this study were all 56 teachers.  The sampling of this study used a total sampling technique so that all populations were sampled. The data collection techniques of this research used a questionnaire. The data were analyzed  by using the average and percentage formula. The results of the research showed that the use of natural materials as educational game tool are categorized as very low. In the aspect of the types of natural materials, the characteristics of educational game tool and the types of natural materials used in a month are categorized as very low, while the educational game tool requirements are categorized as low. The results of research in group B Kindergarten in Selupu Rejang District, Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province showed that teachers still verry rarely used natural materials as educational game tool.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbedaan kemampuan membaca anak kelompok B di PAUD Sandhy Putra Telkom Bengkulu dan Desa Kayu Kunyit Bengkulu Selatan. Membaca kemampuan yang sangat penting dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan metode survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 33 anak kelompok B PAUD Sandhy Putra Telkom Kota Bengkulu dan 33 anak kelompok B PAUD Pembina Desa Kayu Kunyit Bengkulu Selatan. Teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes. Data hasil penelitian menggunakan Pengujian uji t, Sebesar 0.000<0.05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan membaca antara anak kelompok B PAUD Sandhy putra Telkom Kota Bengkulu dan PAUD Pembina Desa Kayu Kunyit Bengkulu Selatan. Mengenal kalimat sederhana dapat dijadikan dasar untuk penelitian berikutnya.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the feasibility of E-Flash Card learning media as a medium learning to stimulate the literacy ability of group B children and describe the effectiveness of E-Flash Card media in stimulating capabilities child literacy group B. The study method used is the Research and Development (R & D). The results of this study obtained an average pre-test score of 37.22 and an average post-test score of 80.55, indicating that the development of E-Flash Cards can be an effective method to stimulate the literacy skills of group B children. The E-Flash Card media is said to be feasible based on validation from media experts, material experts, and teacher responses. Validation from media experts obtained 100% Eligibility Percentage, Validation from Material Experts Obtaining a Percentage 100% eligibility, and responses from teachers obtain a percentage of eligibility 100%.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the contents of mathematics textbooks from Indonesia and Singapore, focusing on the activities of learning mathematics on transformation geometry material at the junior secondary level. We adopt the concept of didactic praxeology, which is a sub-theory of the Anthropological Theory of The Didactic (ATD). Using the ATD framework, our approach considers textbooks as empirical sources that can reveal knowledge that will be taught in the didactic transposition process. This study uses content analysis techniques with a qualitative approach. Textbooks are analyzed using praxeological analysis; types of tasks and techniques (praxis block) and technology and theory (logos block). The results of the didactic praxeological analysis show that there are differences in mathematical practices between the two textbooks. These differences can be used to complement the activity section in understanding the material. We further discuss our findings to outline the theoretical and methodological aspects of this study, which can potentially contribute to future research on textbooks in mathematics education.      Keywords: ATD, praxeology, textbook, transformation geometry.

Abstract

Pada tingkat sekolah menengah maupun perguruan tinggi sering kali terjadi kesulitan belajar dalam memahami konsep-konsep abstrak seperti matriks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis kesulitan belajar pada materi matriks sehingga bisa mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif untuk memfasilitasi pemahaman yang lebih baik terhadap konsep matriks di Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) menggunakan langkah-langkah PRISMA dengan website Covidence. Sumber literatur diperoleh dari Google Scholar melalui PoP (Publish or Perish) dengan menggunakan kata kunci “kesulitan belajar”, “matriks”, dan “pendidikan matematika” yang mencakup total 200 artikel. Setelah melalui langkah-langkah PRISMA diperoleh 18 artikel untuk dikaji. Berdasarkan hasil kajian menggunakan SLR terdapat total 6 artikel penelitian tentang kesulitan belajar pada materi matriks dari tahun 2019 hingga 2024 yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2023. Jawa Barat merupakan daerah yang sangat produktif dengan minat yang besar terhadap bidang ini, sebanyak 6 artikel. Jenjang pendidikan yang dijadikan sampel terbanyak adalah pada jenjang SMA sebanyak 13 artikel. Artikel yang paling banyak dikutip berjudul Analisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matriks dan kaitannya dengan motivasi belajar matematika pada kelas XI dari Jurnal Euclid yaitu sebanyak 34 kali. Sedangkan kesulitan belajar yang sering terjadi adalah kesulitan belajar dalam menggunakan konsep sebesar 46,875% atau yang ditemukan pada 15 artikel.

Abstract

Jones, et.al. (2000) menyatakan bahwa dalam merespons pentingnya data dan informasi dalam masyarakat di era globalisasi ini dibutuhkan adanya reformasi pendidikan statistika secara internasional di semua tingkatan pendidikan. Alasan lain perlunya reformasi pendidikan statistika dikemukakan oleh Ben-Zvi & Friedlander (2010) bahwa pembelajaran statistika tradisional belum bisa mengoptimalkan kemampuan berpikir statistis siswa. Kemampuan berpikir statistis adalah kemampuan untuk mengerti dan memahami proses statistis secara keseluruhan, serta mengaplikasikan pemahaman pada masalah nyata dengan memberikan kritik, evaluasi, dan membuat generalisasi berkaitan dengan: 1)mendeskripsikan data; 2)mengorganisasikan data; 3)merepresentasikan data; dan 4) menganalisis dan menginterpretasikan data. Berdasarkan tahapan berpikir kognitif pada model SOLO (Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome) dari Biggs dan Collis (1991), Jones, et.al (2000) membagi level berpikir statistis menjadi empat yaitu: 1) Idiosyncratic; 2) Transitional; 3) Quantitative; dan 4) Analytical. Makalah ini berisi hasil penelitian tentang pembelajaran Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) yang dimodifikasi untuk meningkatan kemampuan berpikir statisis mahasiswa S1 dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan disain pretes-postes. Dalam penelitian tersebut penulis memodifikasi MEAs yang telah dikembangkan oleh Garfield, delMas dan Zieffler (2010) dengan memasukan Didactical Design Research (DDR) pada saat pembuatan bahan ajar. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap seluruh mahasiswa S1 Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika FPMIPA UPI yang sedang mengikuti perkuliahan Statistika Dasar pada semester ganjil tahun akademik 2011/2012. Pada kelas kontrol (mahasiswa kelas A prodi Pendidikan Matematika angkatan 2010/2011 sebanyak 39 orang) diberi pembelajaran konvensional sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen 1 (mahasiswa kelas B prodi Pendidikan Matematika angkatan 2010/2011 sebanyak 41 orang) dan kelas eksperimen 2 (mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Matatematika angkatan 2008/2009 yang mengulang Statistika Dasar sebanyak 12 orang) diberi pembelajaran MEAs yang dimodifikasi. Selanjutnya pada masing-masing kelas, mahasiswa dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok, yaitu: tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Pengelompokkan didasarkan pada skor hasil tes kemampuan awal statistis (TKAS). Data tentang kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan berpikir statistis (TKBS), sedangkan data disposisi statistis mahasiswa diperoleh dengan menggunakan skala disposisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Ada perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa yang sifnifikan antara kelas kontrol, kelas eksperimen 1, dan kelas eksperimen 2. Perlakuan yang diberikan (pembelajaran MEAs yang dimodifikasi) berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa sebesar 31,0 %; 2) Tidak ada perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa yang signifikan antara kelompok tinggi, kelompok sedang, dan kelompok rendah. Pengaruh pengelompokan (rendah, sedang, tinggi) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa tidak signifikan karena hanya sebesar 1,9 %; 3) Interaksi antara kelas (kontrol, eksperimen 1, eksperimen 2) dan kelompok (tinggi, sedang, rendah) tidak berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa. Pengaruh dari interaksi antara kelas dan kelompok berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir statistis mahasiswa hanya sebesar 3,5 %; 4) Ada perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan disposisi statistis mahasiswa antara kelas kontrol, kelas eksperimen 1, dan kelas eksperimen 2. Pembelajaran MEAs berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan disposisi statistis mahasiswa sebesar 19,0 %; 5) Tidak ada perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan disposisi statistis mahasiswa yang signifikan antara kelompok tinggi, kelompok sedang, dan kelompok rendah. Pengaruh pengelompokan mahasiswa menjadi kelompok tinggi, kelompok sedang, dan kelompok rendah terhadap peningkatan disposisi statistis mahasiswa tidak signifikan karena hanya sebesar 1,4 %; dan 6) Interaksi antara kelas (kontrol, eksperimen 1, eksperimen 2) dan kelompok (tinggi, sedang, rendah) tidak berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan disposisi statistis mahasiswa. Pengaruh interaksi antara kelas dan kelompok terhadap peningkatan disposisi statistis mahasiswa hanya sebesar 5,5 %.

Abstract

Background: Algebra is one of the most important topics in school mathematics. However, the facts in the field found that there were still many errors made by students in solving problems on linear equations in one variable.Aim: This research aims to describe and analyze students' learning obstacles in one-variable linear equation material.Method: This research used a qualitative research approach with a phenomenological design. This research used a purposive sampling technique, the research subjects were 28 class VIII students of Junior High School in Palu City. Data collection was carried out by triangulating data through description tests, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies.Result: Learning obstacles found in the one-variable linear equation material are categorized into 3 types, namely ontogenic obstacles, epistemological obstacles, and didactical obstacles. ontogenic obstacles are found because there is a leap in students' thinking from an arithmetic mindset to an algebraic mindset. Epistemological obstacles are found due to limited context for students which causes errors in working on questions. Some epistemological obstacles are the concept of linear equations, algebraic operations, and applications to equations. The didactical obstacle was found because the teacher's teaching was procedural so the formation of the concept of one-variable linear equations and inequalities in students did not go well.Conclusion: The importance of initial strengthening is related to students' understanding of coefficients, variables, and constants, providing strengthening of the arithmetic thinking process to algebraic thinking, as well as techniques and methods in delivering material and the teaching materials used.

Abstract

Background: The lack of innovative teaching materials relevant to local wisdom hinders the learning process. Flipbook worksheets serve as an innovative educational medium that effectively integrates local wisdom into instructional material delivery. This medium not only offers aesthetic appeal but also enhances interactivity, thereby fostering student engagement in reflective problem-solving activities during the learning process.Aim: The research aims to integrate flipbook worksheets enriched with local wisdom to improve students' creative problem-solving skills.Method: The study employed Research and Development (R&D) methodology, involving 40 participants, with a Likert scale used to assess student engagement.Results: The analysis yielded an F-value of 5.34 and a p-value of 0.028, indicating that the implementation of local wisdom-based flipbook worksheets has a substantively positive impact on enhancing students' problem-solving skills.Conclusion: The development of flipbook worksheets integrated with local wisdom effectively enhances students' creative problem-solving competencies. Recommendations for local wisdom-based education include integrative activities with folklore materials, visuals of traditional games, and reflective problem-solving tasks that incorporate local values such as mutual cooperation, deliberation, and responsibility.

Abstract

This research unveils a profound exploration of learning obstacles experienced by elementary school students in understanding the concept of numbers, particularly in recognizing numbers zero to ten, including their notations. This study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. It sheds light on students' comprehension of the meaning of numbers and numerals, identifying five types of learning obstacles: ontogenic psychological obstacles, ontogenic conceptual obstacles, ontogenic instrumental obstacles, didactical obstacles, and epistemological obstacles. Acting as the primary instrument, the researcher undertakes the entire research process using diagnostic assessments and interview guidelines, from data collection to reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The findings illustrate variations in students' understanding of the meaning and notation of numbers, with the five learning obstacles manifesting in diverse contexts. This analysis is based on students' responses to diagnostic assessments and in-depth interviews. The insights gained underscore the necessity for didactic designs that accommodate concrete aspects, emotional engagement of students, and the evaluation of instructional materials to enhance the understanding of numerical concepts. The research implications include recommendations for developing effective didactic designs to address the identified learning obstacles.

Abstract

This study analyzes the trend of didactic transposition research in mathematics education for the period 2014–2024 using a bibliometric approach with data from Scopus processed through VOSviewer and RStudio. Didactic transposition plays an important role in transforming scientific knowledge into materials that can be taught and understood by students, bridging the gap between academic theory and learning practice. The results of the analysis show an increase in publications in the past decade, with major journals such as Discrete Applied Mathematics, ZDM–Mathematics Education, and International Journal of Science Mathematics Education. China is the country with the largest research contribution in this field. In addition, bibliometric mapping identifies themes that are still rarely researched, such as Anthropology of Theory Didactic, algebra, cultural transposition, and calculus, which have the potential to be the focus of further research. This study provides insights for academics and education practitioners to understand the development of didactic transposition research and direct future research. By identifying research gaps that are minimally explored, the results of this study are expected to encourage the development of more effective teaching strategies, especially in mathematics learning, and strengthen the adaptation of didactic transposition-based curriculum
