Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of school principals in integrating technology into teaching and learning, the challenges encountered in the process, and the competencies required for principals to lead digital transformation. A qualitative method with a case study approach was employed in several schools in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and students, as well as document analysis related to school technology policies. The findings indicate that principals with a clear vision and adequate technological competence are able to foster the successful integration of technology in instruction. Key challenges include teachers’ resistance to change, limited resources and infrastructure, and the lack of ongoing professional development for teachers. Principals who address these barriers by providing sufficient support, continuous training, and cultivating a culture of innovation can accelerate schools’ digital transformation. Moreover, principals’ technological competencies play an important role in motivating and facilitating teachers to integrate technology. The study offers recommendations for principals to adopt transformational leadership and to place greater emphasis on teacher professional development and the enhancement of technological infrastructure. It is hoped that this research provides insights for education policymakers and school leaders to strengthen technology implementation in schools.

Abstract

This study examines hadith compilations from the pre-Kutub al-Sittah period—such as Al-Muwaṭṭa’, Musnad al-Syāfi‘ī, and Musnad Aḥmad—to the six canonical collections of Kutub al-Sittah (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan Abī Dāwūd, Jāmi‘ al-Tirmiżī, Sunan al-Nasā’ī, and Sunan Ibn Mājah) in order to understand the systematic development of hadith text (matan) verification. Using a qualitative method and library research approach, the study reveals that classical scholars did not assess the sanad alone but also examined the matan based on its consistency with the Qur’an and mutawātir Sunnah, rational coherence, internal consistency, and historical context. The findings affirm that matan criticism constitutes an integral and enduring part of the scientific methodology of hadith studies. This research recommends strengthening the study of matan authenticity through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates historical, linguistic, and social dimensions, as well as reinforcing hadith studies curricula in Islamic educational institutions to enable future scholars to interpret hadith both textually and contextually while preserving the authenticity of the Prophet’s teachings

Abstract

Islamic family law reform is a response to the evolving social, cultural, and political dynamics in Muslim countries, particularly post-colonial countries. In many countries, including Morocco, family law is influenced not only by Sharia but also by Western legal systems and local traditions. This situation has prompted states to reform family law through codification, reinterpretation of religious texts, and adaptation of laws to align with the needs of modern society, particularly in efforts to protect women's rights and achieve gender equality. This study aims to analyze the forms, methods, and factors influencing Islamic family law reform. The methodology used is normative legal research with statutory, historical, and conceptual approaches. Data were obtained through a literature review of laws and regulations, Islamic legal doctrine, academic literature, and relevant scientific works. The results indicate that Islamic family law reform is carried out through various methods, such as takhayyur, talfiq, ijtihad, legal codification, and procedural adaptation through the modern judicial system. These reforms reflect efforts to adapt sharia to social change while still considering the values of justice, welfare, and equality, so that Islamic family law can function effectively in contemporary society

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Indonesia's economy, contributing over 60% to the national GDP and employing more than 97% of the workforce. In Payakumbuh, culinary SMEs have significant potential due to the abundance of local raw materials and high demand for traditional foods such as rendang. Rendang Gadih is one such SME focusing on rendang production for both local and regional markets. However, inefficiencies in production, inconsistent quality, and manual management processes limit its competitiveness. This community service activity introduced the concept of Lean Manufacturing to improve efficiency and reduce waste. The main tools socialized were Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Process Activity Mapping (PAM), and identification of the eight types of waste, along with the application of Kaizen principles for continuous improvement. Implementation was carried out through preparation, socialization, and evaluation stages. The results of this activity are expected to help Randang Gadih enhance production efficiency, minimize waste, and strengthen competitiveness, serving as a model for other culinary SMEs in West Sumatra.

Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition in Arabic as a foreign language within pesantren-based educational contexts continues to face persistent challenges due to the dominance of rote memorization practices that inadequately support deep semantic processing, long-term retention, and communicative readiness. This study aims to examine the pedagogical role of Google Sites–based digital instruction in moving beyond memorization by facilitating meaningful lexical processing, learner engagement, and vocabulary retention among students at SMP Bilingual Terpadu Pesantren Modern Al-Amanah Junwangi, Krian. Adopting a qualitative descriptive design, the study employed semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, involving 25 students and 5 Arabic language teachers. The findings indicate that the integration of Google Sites enhanced vocabulary retention through structured, multimodal, and contextualized content presentation, enabling deeper semantic processing compared to conventional memorization-based methods. The platform also contributed to increased learner motivation and affective engagement. However, the data reveal that students’ spontaneous oral use of newly learned vocabulary remained limited and did not develop optimally. This suggests that while Google Sites effectively supports vocabulary retention and emerging readiness for use, full communicative acquisition requires sustained pedagogical mediation and integration with oral interaction practices. The study concludes that Google Sites–based digital instruction functions effectively as a supportive tool for Arabic vocabulary learning beyond mechanical memorization, yet its success is contingent upon teacher scaffolding and alignment with communicative language teaching principles. This research provides empirical insights into digital Arabic pedagogy in bilingual pesantren settings and recommends further investigation into long-term learning outcomes and the integration of digital platforms with productive language use.

Abstract

This study explores teachers' strategies for managing Arts and Culture learning during the final session at Al-Chusnaini Islamic Elementary School, a full-day Islamic elementary school. Ideally, Arts and Culture learning is expected to foster creativity, artistic expression, and active student engagement. However, in reality, students often experience fatigue and decreased concentration during the final session, resulting in suboptimal learning. This problem requires teachers to design creative and varied classroom management strategies to maintain student motivation and participation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data obtained through observation, documentation, and teaching reflection. The results showed that teachers implemented several strategies, including educational games such as modified Monopoly, interactive digital media, icebreaker activities, group projects, and simple rewards. These strategies were effective in increasing student engagement, maintaining focus, and creating a fun and interactive learning atmosphere. This study highlights the importance of innovative classroom management to maintain student motivation and learning quality, especially during low-energy periods, where the implementation of game-based learning and cooperative models such as Teams Games Tournament (TGT) proved practical and had a positive impact. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of learning strategies for end-of-day sessions in elementary schools
