Abstract

This study aims to measure the performance of Sharia Commercial Banks (BUS) using the Maqashid Syariah Index (MSI), and compare the results using the capital structure of BUS. This study applies quantitative and comparative -descriptive methods based on data from the annual financial statements of 12 BUS Indonesia for the 2021-2022. Data analysis was conducted using three MSI indicators (ratios), namely educating individuals, upholding justice, and promoting prosperity, as the basis for evaluation. The results showed that in 2021, there were five BUS that obtained results above 0.1; in order, namely BTPNS, BAS, BMS, BSI, and BCAS. In 2022, there are BUS goals that obtain results above 0.1, respectively, namely BTPNS, BMS, BAS, BCAS, BSI, BNTB, BJBS. Measured by KBMI, BTPNS (KBMI 2) ranked 1st two years in a row;  while BSI (KBMI 3) is only ranked 4th (2021), even in 2022 it fell to rank 5 (2022). This means that the capital structure (KBMI) is not positively correlated with MSI's performance.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the quality of milk including microbiological, chemical properties and detection of subclinical mastitis resulting from the application of bay leaf solution as a natural antiseptic. Application of bay leaf solution was conducted on dairy cows at Tegal Mandiri Farmer Group for 28 days. The parameters observed include microbiological and chemical quality including Total Plate Count (TPC), Staphylococcus aureus contamination, Escherichia coli contamination, fat, protein, lactose content, density and freezing point. Subclinical mastitis was detected using the Draminski Mastitis Detector to see the electrical resistance value of the milk. The results showed that the milk resulting from the application of teat dipping with bay leaf solution had microbiological qualities including Total Plate Count and S. aureus population which met the standards with a TPC population of 4.70 log CFU/ml and S. aureus 0.91 log CFU/ mL, but the E. coli population did not meet the standards. Application of teat dipping with bay leaf solution can reduce the population of S. aureus. Chemical quality in the form of fat content, protein, specific gravity, lactose and freezing point is in accordance with standards. An electrical resistance value of >300 indicates that the milk is of high quality, healthy and has a low incidence of mastitis.

Abstract

Logistics directly affects the growth and development of a nation, making it a vital component of economic development (Hofman, 2017). Numerous studies have established a direct link between a country's economic progress and its logistics performance. This relationship encompasses various dimensions, including economic, developmental, environmental, and social aspects. Within the context of sustainable supply chain management, the environmental and social aspects are often highlighted (Seuring and Muller, 2008; World Bank, 2007, 2018; United Nations, 2010; OECD, 2011; World Economic Forum, 2015).The logistics industry has a significant impact on environmental and social issues and consumes a substantial amount of energy resources, leading to high carbon emissions (Rashidi and Cullinane, 2019). Thus, efforts to reduce carbon emissions are crucial. Initiatives such as developing adequate infrastructure like highways to reduce travel time and waiting times at ports for container unloading are essential. Elevating the competency and quality of logistics services also plays a role in improvement, as logistics professionals contribute not only to material movement but also support marketing functions, product development, pricing, and customer service. In Indonesia, a G-20 member, the logistics sector contributes significantly to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, challenges related to infrastructure and environmental impact need to be addressed. In this regard, the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) published by the World Bank serves as a valuable tool to assess logistics performance and promote sustainability. Within the context of sustainability performance, this research aims to analyze the influence of Logistics Performance and other factors on sustainability performance in G-20 countries, with a focus on Indonesia. LPI data and other relevant indicators are employed to identify the effects of these variables on sustainability performance. The study is expected to offer insights for practitioners and organizations to take steps towards improved sustainability performance while also contributing theoretically to the field.
