Abstract

Volume sampah yang dihasilkan masyarakat Desa Kutamendala mencapai 1,5 Ton/hari yang berasal dari sampah pemukiman, pasar, dan industri. Meskipun sudah memiliki Tempat Pembuangan Sampah dengan konsep reduce, reuse, dan recycle (TPS3R) namun terdapat kendala akses teknologi untuk pengolahan sampah, sementara kesadaran masyarakat terkait pemanfaatan sampah juga masih kurang; kelompok Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) selaku produsen sampah terbesar masih membakar sampah atau membayar ke tenaga pengepul sampah. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah: (1) meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi warga masyarakat (PKK) untuk memilah sampah dan menyetorkan ke TPS3R, (2) mengintroduksikan teknologi mesin pengolah sampah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas TPS3R, serta (3) keberlanjutan kemitraan TPS3R-PKK dan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah di Desa Kutamendala. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan tahap (1) persiapan, (2) edukasi pengelolaan sampah kepada anggota PKK, (3) Penguatan kapasitas pengurus TPS3R; (4) Introduksi mesin pengolahan sampah; (4) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) penguatan kemitraan; serta (6) Pengembangan jejaring produsen sampah dan pemasar sampah. Berdasarkan program yang telah terlaksana diperoleh hasil: (1) rekayasa sosial melalui penyadaran mitra PKK untuk memanfaatkan sampah sudah terlaksana dengan baik, peningkatan terjadi dari pengetahuan kepada praktek pemanfaatan sampah, (2) telah dintroduksikan 6 mesin yang telah diperasikan untuk mengolah sampah, serta (3) kemitraan PKK (54 RT dan 10 RW) dan TPS3R yang berkelanjutan dalam memanfaatkan sampah.

Abstract

The readiness of Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Kramat Jati to become Health Promoting Hospital (HPH) is very important based on Health Promotion Standard of Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia Year 2011. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to know the preparedness of RSUD Kramat Jati become Health Promoting Hospital, done by qualitative approach. The results showed that from six (6) standard of hospital health promotion, one (1) standard of hospital health promotion has been fulfilled by RSUD Kramat Jati, while five (5) standard of health promotion of hospital have not been fulfilled. Preparation of technical policies for the implementation of HPH by the Dinas Kesehatan, dissemination of HPH, the optimization of special unit roles, the addition of human resources, the implementation of special training education, empowerment activities and community organizing as well as further research in the assessment of standard components of hospital health promotion are proposed suggestions in this research.

Abstract

This study used an experimental method by directly observing the object under study. The independent variables in this study include the geometry of the flame holder on the meso-scale combustor, airflow, and fuel discharge. The research data were analyzed and displayed in graphical form as well as flame visualization. This research concludes that combustion using a flame holder circle has a more stable and even flame compared to a flame holder concentric ring and backward facing step. The shape of the Flame holder circle also produces a higher flame temperature. The results of this study contribute to the development of MPG based on micro combustion with a better understanding of the interaction between flame holders, reactant velocities and equivalent ratios in achieving stable and efficient combustion in meso-scale combustors. This research can provide important input for the development of high-efficiency micro-combustion-based power generation technology in the future.

Abstract

The most common type of liver cancer is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), accounting for 75–85% of cases. Despite its associated side effects, sorafenib remains the standard treatment for HCC. Given the critical need to improve therapeutic efficacy while minimizing adverse effects, alternative drugs must be thoroughly investigated. Numerous studies indicate that combining sorafenib with metformin results in a more favorable treatment profile. The aim of this study was to employ bioinformatics methodologies to elucidate the molecular pathways and genetic underpinnings of metformin's efficacy in HCC treatment. Genes associated with metformin and its action against HCC (Huh-7 and HepG2 cells) were acquired from the NCBI-GEO data collection by utilizing pre-determined keywords. Subsequently, pathways implicated in metformin-mediated HCC treatment were analyzed through the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG). Our analysis revealed the involvement of multiple pathways, with metabolic pathways implicated in 80% of the total cases. Neurodegenerative pathways were involved in only around 60% of the total cases. These findings align with the multifaceted mechanisms of metformin’s action, encompassing adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase activation, apoptosis induction, insulin regulation, anti-inflammatory responses, and modulation of cell proliferation. This comprehensive investigation sheds light on the intricate molecular landscape underpinning metformin's therapeutic efficacy in HCC, thereby informing potential avenues for optimizing treatment strategies.

Abstract

The role of higher education in fostering entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as vital for economic development and innovation. This study investigates the impact of Service Value Agility on student entrepreneurship within the D3 Marketing Management Study Program at the Department of Business Administration, Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines). By developing a conceptual framework that examines the relationships between market orientation, entrepreneurship knowledge, service value agility, product value customization, and entrepreneurial performance, this research employs structural equation modeling (SEM) to test these hypotheses. The results indicate that both market orientation and entrepreneurship knowledge significantly enhance service value agility and product value customization, which in turn positively influence entrepreneurial performance. The findings underscore the importance of integrating practical, market-oriented approaches into higher education curriculum to enhance service agility and entrepreneurial success among students. This study contributes to the literature on entrepreneurial education and offers valuable insights for educators and policymakers aiming to cultivate successful entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This paper presents a numerical investigation into the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of a shell and tube heat exchanger (STHeX) equipped with baffles that induces swirl flow. A Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model was created to simulate the STHeX behavior, and its accuracy was confirmed by comparing it to the Bell-Delaware method results. The two sets of calculations exhibited good agreement, validating the CFD model. The velocity component of the fluid flow was analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The flow patterns of eddies on the STHeX were carefully examined and their correlation with thermal performance was investigated. This study demonstrates that the swirl flow baffle geometry leads to a more turbulent flow pattern, resulting in an increase in the overall heat transfer coefficient. The findings indicate that the swirl flow baffle enhances heat transfer performance and reduces pressure drop in comparison to a conventional STHeX.

Abstract

Artikel ini akan membahas secara rinci pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Tahun 2023. Program ini dirancang untuk memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang bagaimana rencana dan implementasi program tersebut dilakukan, serta dampaknya terhadap masyarakat dan pihak-pihak yang terlibat. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangani belum teknis penerapan sekolah aman bencana (SAB) model pembelajaran integrasi kebencanaan melalui metode bermain peran. Permasalahan pritoritas mitra yaitu guru belum mengetahui konseptual pendidikan kebencanaan di sekolah. Selain itu, guru belum mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyusunan sumber serta instrumen evaluasi. Solusi yang ditawarkan yaitu memberikan pelatihan menggunakan model pembelajaran integrasi kebencanaan melalui metode bermain peran. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, workshop, peerteaching, dan penugasan. Luaran kegiatan ini yaitu peningkatan pengetahuan guru dalam menyusun rencana dan melaksanakan pembelajaran integrasi kebencanaan. Kegiatan pelatihan ini telah mencapai tujuannya. Pelatihan ini telah memberikan manfaat yang sangat besar dan tepat bagi guru-guru yang menjadi khalayak sasaran dalam kegiatan ini.Peserta sangat senang, puas dan aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini. Bentuk pelatihan ini merupakan bentuk yang sangat efektif untuk memberikan wawasan baru bagi peserta.

Abstract

This final project report aims to calculate the maximum flow rate capability based on the IPR curve to determine the comparison between fluid types based on PwF, after which the volumetric efficiency calculation is carried out on the installed HPU pump to find out whether the volumetric efficiency is below 60% - 80%, if the volumetric efficiency is below the target then optimization is carried out on the HPU pump. To carry out this final project, a preliminary study was carried out by reviewing information both in literature from the company and interviews, and field observations. Furthermore, data collection was carried out through interviews and field observations for data acquisition. After knowing and obtaining data, data processing is carried out to study related to the initial objectives of this final project. After data processing, it is known that the evaluation results before optimization that volumetric efficiency is 42.816% with pressure well flowing conditions of 273,859 psi. This of course has been outside the provisions of a company where the company has a volumetric efficiency target of 80%. To increase volumetric efficiency, pump intake calculations are carried out to determine the optimal parameters of stroke length and SPM under PwF conditions obtained from the relationship curve of N and S values to Q. After using the optimal parameters from the N and S value relationship curve results, the volumetric efficiency increased to 85.751% with a pump displacement of 377,838 bbl/day which is not much different from the gross Q of 324 bfpd, so the objectives of the final project have been achieved.

Abstract

Meloidogyne spp. is responsible of root swelling, one of the primary disease in tomato plants. Controlling this nematode is challenging due to its wide host range. The use of synthetic nematicides harms the environment; therefore, alternative controls, such as biological methods, are necessary. Among the biological agents, one group includes endophytic bacteria that reside in plant tissues and do not cause harm to plants. These bacteria enhance plant resistance to pests and pathogens while promoting plant growth. The study aimed to acquire endophytes, Bacillus spp. strains capable of controlling Meloidogyne sp. while stimulating the growth of tomato plants. The research employed a completely randomized design (CRD) comprising seven treatments and five replications. The treatments consisted of B. cereus strain SNE 2.2, TLE 2.3 and TLE 1.1, B. pseudomycoides strain EPL 1.1.3, B. toyonensis strain EPL 1.1.4, positive control (without the introduction of Bacillus spp. and inoculation with Meloidogyne sp.) and negative control (without Bacillus spp. and without Meloidogyne sp.). Bacillus spp. endophyites were introduced in two stages: into the seeds and into the roots of tomato seedlings for 15 min. The observed variables were the development of Meloidogyne sp., endophytic colonization of Bacillus spp., and plant growth. The results demonstrated that all Bacillus spp. were effective in controlling Meloidogyne sp. and enhancing the growth of tomato plants. The best isolate in controlling Meloidogyne sp. and increasing the growth of tomato plants was B. cereus strain SNE2.2.
